Raybot makes some killer customs and his Custom Marvel Legends Mystique figure is no exception. From head to toe, this figure was very well executed. Some of the aspects that set this apart from other customs is the use of flexible hair and a flexible costume to add to the realism. Along with a full repaint of realistic washes, oversprays, textures, and highlights, Mystique comes saddled with a rifle and two handguns. The blue used on the figure was spot on and the way the face was painted makes it look like she is alive. Well done Raybot!
From Custom Transformers to Marvel Legends figures, Shinobitron is one of those customizers that excels in what ever he puts his hands on and his Custom Marvel Legends Black Panther X-Men figure is no exception. Putting his own militaristic twist on this figure, the cat like figure possesses many feline characteristics. I really love the head of the figure as it was well done and I really like the way the snout was crafted. If you take a closer look at the hands, they are very lifelike and have the ability hold daggers between the fingers. In addition to getting this amazing figure, Shinobitron created a pleathora of accessories like extra unmasked head with cowl, his tribal necklace, an ornamental spear, and 3 vibranium daggers which attach to his belt via pegs. The unmasked head is pretty cool but you will have to make the jump over to view Shinobitron's Custom Marvel Legends Black Panther X-Men figure to see it!
rluxcustom's has created this massive Custom Marvel Legends X-MEN Colossus statue, which is a real work of art. I really like the way this figure was sculpted and the lines give the figure definition and dimension. The expression on the figures face is one of anger and destruction. Standing at 18" tall, this statue possesses a lot of feeling and personality. The base of the statue goes really well with the overall look and feel of the statue and makes it look like the ground is crumbling beneath the feet. The yellow and reds are very vibrant but, at the same time, are muted by the nice weathering detail, which rounds out this excellent figure.
There are certain details that catch my and today I wanted to focus on Raybot's Custom Marvel Legends Jubilee figure. First, the colors really pop on this figure and stay true to how the figure appears in the comic. Second, the application of the paint is done in such a way that is accentuates certain parts of the figure. For example, the jean shorts look like real denim the way the paint was weathered or washed on the shorts. The pink glasses set the hair off, adding to the realism to the figure. The hair sculpt adds to the depth of the figure and the face looks very angelic. To view more photos of Raybot's Custom Marvel Legends Jubilee figure, head over to eBay!
Modeled after Jim Lee's art style, Loose Collector has created a magnificent Custom Marvel Legends Gambit figure. The facial features and hair really give this figure a human look. As a mutant, Gambit possesses the ability to manipulate kinetic energy, as well as a hypnotic charm. He is also skilled in card-throwing, hand-to-hand combat, and the use of a staff, which Loose Collector proudly displays. The trench coat is also well done as the plastic looks flowing and lifelike. If you compare this to the Toybiz version of Gambit, Loose Collector's figure wins hands down:
Updating one of the classic X-MEN characters, Horton's Heroes presents their Custom Marvel Legends Wolverine X-MEN figure. For being an action figure, this version of Wolverine possesses unique style and personality, which is a credit to Horton's Heroe's ability to paint and sculpt emotion and feeling into his work. In both the masked and unmasked versions of the head sculpts, the expression on Wolverine's face can be interpreted in a few ways. Add real metal claws and a killer paint app to the costume and you have one awesome Wolverine figure.
K&L is a very accomplished customizer and is published in Toyfare magazine. I must say that K&L customs has their way with the ladies and their Custom Marvel Legends X-MEN Emma Frost is another great example. They make the most beautiful customs of the female nature, which is one of their specialties. In addition to creating accurate figures based on the Marvel Comics, K&L has the ability to make their figures come to life with the way that the faces and eyes are painted. The way the eyes and the eye brows are painted gives the figure a very distinct look. The hair looks natural and flowing, paying a nice homage to the this mutant telepath. Here is a close up of her face:
Even since I saw the Transformers Movie in 2007, all I can think of when I see a Wolverine figure is "Oh, no, man. Freddy Krueger have four blades, man. That's only three. That's Wolverine," from when Glen's character from the movie responds to Sergeant Epp's question, "What's that? Freddy Krueger been up in here or something?
Ok, I digressed...what I meant to lead off with was L.Designs' creation of this Custom Marvel Legends Wolverine figure is a great concept. Made from a Toy Biz Hulk figure, he decided that it would look better as a Wolverine figure, giving him a different edge to him. The shading and the blood spatter detailing is awesome. There are also several other aspects of this figure that great. For example, love the hair and the flairs off the knees of the pants, which creates a very cool visual style of the figure building off of Wolverine's crazy hair:
This one is up on eBay for a whopping 10 days so make sure you head over if you want to add this great Custom Marvel Legends Wolverine figure to your collection.
I had the great opportunity to interview Rateeg Creations back in February 2008. Rateeg Creations has a beautiful Custom Marvel Legends Emma Frost figure up this week. Hand sculpted and painted, there are many aspects of this figure that stand out. First, the head sculpt looks very life like and the eyes on this figure are amazing. If you do eyes right, the figure takes on a personality of its own. The facial features are very proportional and the hair on the figure is very well done. For figures like this, I am all about the eyes and the hair and this Emma Frost is stunning. The figure also comes with a cloth cape. I am also a big fan of mixing in soft goods with the figure. There is less than a day left to nab this great figure so head over to eBay and checkout more photos of Rateeg Creations' Custom Marvel Legends Emma Frost.

K&L Customs has brought to life a character from the legendary X-MEN series with their Custom Marvel Legends Mystique figure. The detailing on this figure is excellent and I love the way they created the eyes on this figure as lack of pupils mirrors the concept art and styling of the comics. The skull in the center of her head adds a great touch! The accessories for this figure are killer and K&L Customs are awesome customizers so head over to eBay and check out their latest customs!
Hunter Knight Customs has a gorgeous X-Men lady for sale this week. This very well crafted Custom Marvel Legends Jean Grey figure is beautifully sculpted, with features that really stand out. K&L Customs does it again with a magnificent display of their skill with their Custom Marvel Legends Boomer (Boom Boom) figure. I love costume design on this one. The shoulder pads and the amo belt add great character to the figure and the colors compliment each other nicely. One of my favorite parts of the custom is the head sculpt. The eyes are done in a way that give the figure personality. K&L are one of my favorite Marvel Legends customizers so head over to eBay and check out their Custom Marvel Legends Boomer (Boom Boom) figure.
One of C3's (Central Cali Customs) strengths is his ability to mold plastic and paint into realistic figures and his Custom Marvel Legends Mimic figure is no exception. I love the way this figure came together. My favorite aspect of this custom is the head sculpt. The hair and the eyes are done very well, which gives the figure personality. Let's hear more about this great figure from C3 himself:
"Up for an auction is MIMIC from the Exiles series. This guy has so many powers. He could copy up to 5 other mutants' power. This particular custom figure, he will copy Wolverine, Angel, and cyclops. Mimic stands 6 inches tall. He comes with replaceable wings, and claws. If you wanted him to have Angel's power, then just plug in his magnetic wings. If you wanted him to have Wolverine's power, then just plug his magnetic claws on his hands. You could actually combine them all 3 powers together is you want to."
If you want to own a custom from one of the best, head over to eBay and check out C3's Custom Marvel Legends Mimic figure.
It is great when customizers bring concepts to life and Wanderer-X has done this with his Custom Marvel Legends Polaris figure. One of the key members of the new Starjammers, Magneto's daughter and second woman to join the X-Men, and the Mistress of Magnetism, this Polaris figure is very highly detailed and there are a few aspects of this custom I would like to point out. First, the head sculpt is very well done. The hair and the facial features are the high points for me on this one. The eyes and lips give the figure personality and the colors stay true to the concept art. To add this great figure to your Marvel Legends collection, head over to eBay and bid on Wanderer-X's Custom Marvel Legends Polaris figure.
BoskoesToys has an amazing looking Custom Marvel Legends Juggernaut figure up this week. They have really captured the intensity of Juggernaut with the facial expressions and features they added to the figure. The eyes are piercing and the teeth show the true grit along with the lines in the face capture the true essence of Juggernaut. The helmet is one of my favorite parts of this figure and the way it was made lets the face shine through. BoskoesToys is one of the best in the business so head over to eBay and check out thier Custom Marvel Legends Juggernaut figure.
K&L customs have a great looking Custom Marvel Legends Storm figure up this week. The costume design is very nice and the eyes really draw you in to the figure. I also like the silver accents that surround the figure as it gives the limbs added dimension and makes them pop! They did an excellent job translating the concept art into a figure and it is customizers like K&L that have a long history of making quality customs that fans will have no problem posing next to their other Marvel Legends figures.

Tonyz Customs has a beautifully styled and crafted Custom Marvel Legends Jean Grey figure up on eBay this week for all to enjoy! First, let me say that Tony's artistic ability really comes through on this figure. The figure as a whole is amazing but if I was to isolate a few aspects, I would call out the face and the hair. Tony has the ability to bring the figures to life and they way he painted and sculpted the face makes it look very realistic. The hair is also done very well and I love the way it flows from her head. The yellow and blues complete the figure, making this one of the best Jean Grey figures I have seen in a very long time. To check out more photos and his WIP photo, head over to eBay and place a bid on Tonyz Custom Marvel Legends Jean Grey figure.

I love the realism that NTT brings to his customs and his latest Custom Marvel Legends White Phoenix figure is no exception. I love the concept from head to toe! The coupling of metallic gold and soft white accent the right parts of the this figure and the gold sash ties everything together. The hair is a work of art in itself and I have said this several times but nailing the right features of a figure (such as the eyes and hair) can make a break a custom. The hair is very realistic on this figure and the deep shade of red really makes the face pop! NTT is one of the best customizers in this respect and he strives to set a realistic tone with his figures while still staying true to the concepts. Head over to eBay and place a bid on this beauty or view more photos of NTT's Custom Marvel Legends White Phoenix figure!
K&L Customs brings us this awesome Custom Marvel Legends X-Men Dazzler figure. There are several things I love about this custom. First, the sculpting on this figure really makes it come to life. The hair, eyes, and lips are the high points for me as getting these features right can make or break a custom and for K&L, they always get these things right! The sunburst on the figure is nicely proportioned and the colors look very smooth. If you want to own a figure from one of the best Marvel Legends customizers out there, head over to eBay and place a bid on K&L's Custom Marvel Legends X-Men Dazzler figure.
13Customs has brought to life this lovely X-MEN character with his Custom Marvel Legends Polaris figure. There was something that drew me to this figure and I can't quite put my finger on it but there seems to be an innocence to this figure in the way that the face was sculpted and painted. The hair is nicely done and the figure overall is executed very well. Sometimes it is the little things make a huge difference. For example, the subtle black outlining on the figure really makes the costume off of the flesh tone skin. The shades of green pay a great homage to this X-MEN enchantress. Head over to eBay to place a bid on 13Custom's Custom Marvel Legends Polaris figure.
Claws Inc has blended the classic with the modern with this Custom Marvel Legends Outback Colossus figure. I love it when customizers go out on their own and make something that blends the classic nature of the characters with a more updated feel. This technique gives the best the best of both worlds for collectors who are grew up with the older style of the figures but are now also into the newer versions as well. I love the paint aps on this figure and the overall concept. The metallic paint and the hue of red is just perfect for the figure. Claws Inc tells us more about this great figure:
"Here we have a.....CUSTOM: Marvel Legends "OUTBACK COLOSSUS" figure. I wanted him to be kind of a cross between the Modern and the older classic X-Men 'Outback' Colossus....Hence the cleaner look overall, brighter metalic paint (with just a hint of light blue) and a much lighter/cleaner yellow on his belt etc. And of course the other yellow that was on him is now gone...I think way better. I've aways loved the 'Outback' look for Colossus, and I hope I've done him justice."
To own this great figure, head over to eBay and place a bid for Claws Inc's Custom Marvel Legends Outback Colossus figure.
I love it when customizers do what they think is right to enhance a figure to its full potential and Claws Inc has done just this with his Custom Marvel Legends Phoenix figure. There are many aspects of this figure that would make any collector want to add this to their Marvel collection. First, this is a one of a kind design straight from the mind and fingers of Claws Inc. For example, the paint aps for this figure were done in a white and bright gold, which goes very nicely with the fiery red hair, which is one of my favorite parts of this custom. The reason I like the hair is that (1) is looks very realistic and (2) the deep shadowing of the hair, which makes it look like it is flowing as she is rising up. I also like the definition that is given to the flesh tones that makes this figure one of the best. Head over to eBay to check out more photos and to place a bid on Claws Inc's Custom Marvel Legends Phoenix figure.
JRS Toys has improved upon what was once (and still is) a Toyfare Exclusive figure with their Custom Marvel Legends Age of Apocolypse Morph figure. They really captured the classic version of Morph from the 1990's and gave this figure a personality. Many of the figures that are produced by major toy companies lack character and style and it is customizers like JRS Toys that can give that figure a special look that brings out the essence of the figure we all remember. Let's read more about how JRS created this great figure:
"We here at JRS Toys have been trying to bring some "prototype" figures to life. Morph is a favorite of ours, I think his crackly laugh is probably most prominent from the X-Men cartoon of the 90's. So anyway, we were always jealous of this Toyfare Exclusive was released and decided that since we finally had all the right elements we'd update it. So what we have for you is one AOA Morph, ultra pose-able figure with some 36 points of articulation and stands 6 1/2 inches tall."
Head over to eBay to own this one of a kind Custom Marvel Legends Age of Apocolypse Morph figure.
From concept to custom, K&L has the talent to make their customs come to life and look even better than the art they were derived from. Their Custom Marvel Legends Gamora figure is a great example of their craftsmanship at work. It is the small details that add up to a great custom. For example, the gold accents around the eyes and the costume highlight the finishing touches that complete the look of the figure. The moulding on the forehead, the skull, and the hair pay a great homage to the marvel representation:

K&L Customs really knows how to bring the human element out of their customs and their Custom Marvel Legends X-MEN Dark Star is no exception. My favorite part of this custom is the facial features. BenjaminWings takes on a very sexy comic book character from the 1980's with his Custom Marvel Legends Goblin Queenfigure. The attention to detail really shows with the costume design and craftsmanship. I love the way the cape is tattered, giving it a more realistic and flowing look. Let's read more about this great custom from BenjaminWings himself:
"She stands at 6 inches tall and retains all of her articulation. She is hand painted with durable citadel paints and sculpted with Apoxie to reflect her classic outfit from her appearance during Inferno in the 80's X-Men comics. She would make a brilliant addition to any X-Men or Marvel collection, especially if you're considering my other auctions too! I take my time with all of my work and a lot of TLC went into making Madelyne a reality"

Updating the Tiger Stripe Wolverine, Jin Saotome adds a very cool feature to his Custom Marvel Legends Wolverinefigure in the form of a pair of steel claws. Here is Jin to tell you more about this classic X-MEN figure:
"You asked for more steel claws and you got them! The new ‘tiger stripe’ Wolverine that came out in the Target Exclusive Red Hulk wave is by far my favorite Wolvie to date. He’s basically a direct mold of the old ML 6 brown Wolvie which has the best features in my opinion. Well this time around I updated him with my all new recipe for steel claws! These claws don’t simply sit on top of his hands but plug in with powerful magnets ensuring a tight fit however you play with him. You can remove them and plug in the retracted claw nubs for a different look. Wolvie has also been given an updated curved ear shape and some shading to his body for a more detailed appearance."

Central Cali Customs brings us his version of Jim Lee's classic X-MEN character with this Custom Marvel Legends Cyclopsfigure. C3 is an awesome sculptor, and that is one trait that sets his customs apart from others. Let's learn more about this great custom:
"Up for this auction is Jim Lee style of Cyclops. He was built based on 4 different base figures. It took a while to do a research on what to use for him, specially the hands. I specifically look for the perfect right hand, so he would be pose nicely as if he's touching his eye wear to use the laser beam. His belt buckle, boots straps, thighs strap, hands strap, and body strap were hand sculpted. He was hand painted with majority of blue color, with all his yellow straps and boots. You will find the shadows and highlight on his body, hands, legs, boots, hair, etc. His X-Men logos are also hand painted. Lastly, he comes with his replaceable laser beam."

Straight from the pages of the X-Men Marvel Comics comes the collectablekid's version of X-Men character Nate Grey in Marvel Legends Styles. One of the great things about the collectablekid's customs is that he is an excellent sculptor so you know that his heart and soul is poured into every custom he creates. A few notable points about his Nate Grey are the flames surrounding his hands, the detailing on his suit, and his head (which pretty much covers everything but I will go into a bit more detail). First, the flames on his hands are very well done and actually look like fire. The fire almost takes on a persona of its own and the colors are very life-like. Second, the way the body suit was painted and sculpted gives the appearance of an actual piece of clothing. Finally, the aspects I will point out on the head are the eyes and eyebrows. The way that these are designed brings much life into the figure and the raised eyebrow is a very nice touch that gives the figure personality. It is this attention to detail that makes the collectablekid's customs priceless. The hair is also an aspect that looks lifelike and is sculpted in a way that feels like the hair is flowing.
collectablekid's Custom Marvel Legends Nate Grey is up on eBay right now so head over there and check it out.

First, the hair is nicely done and flows naturally from her head. The costume sculpt around the her face sets off the soft beauty of this figure. KJ Customs steams up the scene with his Custom Marvel Legends Goblin Queen! He is a very talented sculptor and this figure is evidence of that. The human body is very difficult to replicate but this is one of KJ's strong points! Some of the high points of this custom are the very detailed ab sculpt and shaping. The hair flows beautifully off the top of her head and on to her shoulders. This is one of the most highly detailed and nicely sculpted Marvel Legends custom I have come across in a while. KJ tells us more about how me made this beauty:
"This figure is very detailed and very beautiful. She has several points of articulation and comes with a base with very detailed goblins. She also comes with a massive custom cape with about a nine or ten inch span. From head to toe this is going to please any x men fan! Starting with the figure itself ,she is about 7" tall. She is really for display and not for play. She has 8 points of articulation: Her ball joint shoulders, elbows,Knees, and ankles. Her legs and torso do not move because I wanted the figure to look flawless. She is pretty durable and has been crafted with magic sculpt and sealed. Her face is very beautiful and sexy. She has smokey eyes with light on the iris .Her skin throughout her body is shaded to look more realistic. She has red hair with many different colors of highlight and lowlight, and has been sculpted to look like it is flowing. She has a very sexy mid section and toned body. She has very detailed hands which have also been shaded and given long glossy black finger nails. Her costume is very comic book accurate. It is a jet glossy black color. On the loin cloth there are tiny gold skulls and a golden broach on her chest. The outfit itself is three dimensional, so it is not just painted on.Her knee high boots are also detailed and are jet black with gloss. She also comes with two hand sculpted very detailed goblins. The green one does not come off the stand but the blue one is removable. These guys are really awesome and help make the figure pop! Her cape is removable and very flexible. It has two rings which can be put on each wrist and really move with the figure when her arms move. The base is from another figure but looks really good with this one."

Darthleon's Custom Marvel Legends Storm figure rises from the page of Marvel Comics and is stirring up eyes on eBay! The sculpting on this figure is great and I am happy to see darthleon taking on a custom that is one of his favorite character portrayals. The hair looks great and it looks like she is getting ready to mess with mother nature. Let's see how he has made this great figure:
"This is one of my favorite versions of storm to date so I figured I give it a go considering there really isn't a good storm out there. Her entire torso, Boots, Hair and chest was rescultped to give a more accurate and detailed look. The outfit was painted with many highlights and shadows to give it a realistic look. Please note that do to the boots, this figure is meant to posed on the flying stand that is provided, because she cannont stand without support. The figure has multiple points of articulation. This figure is one that needs to be seen to be fully appreciated. Although the figure is poseable and durable, this item is intended for collectors and should be handled accordingly. He was scultped using a very durable compound called apoxie sculpt that when cured is very hard and durable."

NTT brings a classic X-Men character to life with his Custom Marvel Legends X-Men Polaris figure. Capturing the essence of the comic version of Polaris, this figure is very well scultped and the costume flows seamlessly into her body. The hair is my favorite part of this custom as she looks like she is taking flight and her hair is flowing in the breeze. The shades of green compliment the figure nicely and really bring out the features of the figure. Let's take a closer look at how NTT created this great figure:
"Remodeled the hair on the Circe to resemble the hairdo Polaris had on the cover of the Xmen comic. In fact, she was completely painted in the same green tone as she appeared on the cover. Man, she just looked galactic, totally absorbed in her magnetic aura and doing her mutant thing! It was this gravity-defying element in her pose that was interesting to behold, and wanted to convey in this custom. This meant sculpting her hair to appear as though it was floating, showing a sense of lightness. Basically started by flipping the hair around to the other side, then sculpted over the seams. Her face-guard was cut from blister package, then glued on. Nip/tucked her boobs and legs also with apoxie - and replaced the feet with ankles from a Spidey figure, (for the ankle articulation) - it complimented her "in-flight" pose. Also adjusted the cape just like the way it's flowing on the comic cover as a way to give tribute to Jim Steranko's style of drawing - very Kirbyesque. The illustration, in all its potent, monochromatic green color, and stylized design is classic comic art at its best - pure enjoyment. Wanted to capture the detail and likeness of this version of Polaris."

Polaris is a mutant with the ability to manipulate magnetism. Although she has the potential to exercise all of the powers that Magneto has, as yet she has only used powers involving the manipulation of magnetic, electrical, and gravitic fields. Moreover, she cannot summon as great an amount of energy as Magneto can. The exact limits on the amount weight that she can magnetically lift at present have not been measured, but they are considerably below those of Magneto. Since she has preferred not to use her powers in combat situations, she has not worked nearly as hard to develop them as Magneto has. As with Magneto, it is unknown whether Polaris's powers are purely psionic or whether they derive from her physically. Polaris has been observed levitating metallic objects and creating force fields in which she can suspend persons or objects in the air and in which she can protect them from attacks from outside the fields. She can also overload or short-circuit electrical systems. By concentrating, Polaris can perceive the world around herself solely as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. She can perceive the natural magnetic auras surrounding living beings, as well. For a time, Polaris possessed superhuman strength and durability, as well as the ability to temporarily increase her height and mass by drawing on negative energy around her.
