Growing up with watching the Star Wars movies in the order of 4, 5, and 6, one of my favorite parts of Return of the Jedi was getting to finally see Darth Vader’s face. We first got a look at Durge in the in the first Clone Wars Animated Series back in 2003 and boy was he a force to be reckoned with. What I love about this figure is that he used a small piece from vehicle to mimic the holographic Order 66 directive from Darth Sidious. I like the black base for the figure as it goes really nicely with the camouflage armor for Gree. The helmet is done very well and the choice of the shade of green is excellent! Venator Class Star Destroyer Lego Star Wars Custom
The Venator Class Star Destroyers are one of my favorite large vehicles from the Star Wars series. Simple but massive in the design, these ships remind me of sea warfare as the ships must line up side by side to each other to deliver their crushing blows. 5striley5 has created this Custom Lego Star Wars Venator Class Star Destroyer that is over 2 feet long! Commander Keller was one of my favorite clones from the Star Wars 3 3/4″ line and I am happy to see him in minifig form. FreshFromTheSewers has created one of the most feared bounty hunters to wreak havoc on the Clone Wars Animated scene with his Custom Lego Star Wars Cad Bane minifig. Given center stage in Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2, Cad Bane has already caused major damage to the future of the Jedi Order. With his signature blue skin and breathing aparatus, FreshFromTheSewers did an excellent job translating this figure into the Lego world.
The customizer with a cool name has a Custom Lego Star Wars Kashyyyk Clone Trooper minifig up this week that is very well done! Goongalacowabunga84’s minifig is a great translation of the ROTS Kashyyyk Troopers. I really like the concept of this figure as it is less boxy than the original BARC troopers, who look like Biker Scouts in camouflage. One of my favorite parts of Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith was when the Utapau Clone Troopers descended upon the battle for Utapau. Custom LEGO Star Wars Kashyyyk Heavy Trooper minifig
Rurisk has a figure that can beef up your Kashyyyk army with his Custom LEGO Star Wars Kashyyyk Heavy Trooper minifig. This figure was made with custom decals (9th Assault Corps markings) and has a modified helmet and kama. The Clone also comes with a custom rifle.

CAB Customs has created one of the Jedi who survived Order 66 in minifig form with his Custom Lego Star Wars Kai Hudorra figure. For those unfamiliar with this Jedi, Wookiepedia decribes this Bothan as fighting the Separatists on Toola when Order 66 was issued. His fellow Jedi Master Simms was killed by their clone troopers, but Hudorra was able to flee with Simms’s Padawan, Noirah Na, to safety. This highly detail minifig has a custom casted head and a custom casted hilt.
One can never get tired of army building and Rurisk has created an instant troop builder for you with his Custom Lego Star Wars Omega Squad minifigs. The Omega Squad was an elite clone commando unit, and was part of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. The members of this unit were brought together after each of their respective squads were killed during action at Geonosis. Unlike most other commando squads, the Omegas wore specialized Night Ops Armor. It always puzzled me that every Gunship that was made was lacking the side turret pods and toystorycollectables has created these Custom Lego Star Wars Republic Gunship Turrets. This is a great improvement to the Gunships and they look slick mounted to the sides of these troop transports.
Rune Haako was a male Neimoidian and the Settlement Officer of the Trade Federation, as well as a lieutenant to Viceroy Nute Gunray in the years leading up to and through the end of the Clone Wars. This week, CAB customs epitomizes this Trade Federation slime in a minifig with his Custom Lego Star Wars Rune Haako figure. I love the way the face was drawn as it captures the personality of the character in the movie so well.
One of my favorite clone troopers from the Revenge of the Sith movie and Jebstuff has epitomized these troopers with his Custom Lego Star Wars Kayshyyyk Clone troopers. The Republic Gunships are one of my favorite modes of transportation as they have the ability to quickly move in and out of battle situations and provide much needed cover while the troops are being deployed or evacuated. SithClone116 has an interesting twist on the troop transport with his Custom Lego Star Wars Stealth Republic Gunship. Sometimes the clones need to do night missions and this Stealth Gunship is the right vehicle so that the clones can go unnoticed. I really like the black and grey brick color scheme and the bubble turrets add a great dimension to the vehicle. Darrens5150 has captured the likeness of the great General Kenobi in minifig form with his Custom Lego Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi in his Clone Commander uniform. What sets this apart from other lego minifigs is that he custom casted the beard, which usually is one dimensional on a lego figure. Commander Neyo of the 91st Recon performs his Clone duty by killing Stass Allie which left speeder bike parts flying in an orange glow from the explosion. Broadside was a clone trooper pilot who fought in the Clone Wars under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker. He served in Shadow Squadron and fought against the Malevolence in the Battle of the Kaliida Nebula. Not too much time left to catch Rurisk’s Custom Lego Star Wars Senate Security minifig! The deep red on the figure captures the animated Clone Wars representation perfectly. I think you might have picked up on this already but if you have not I am a huge fan of the Clone Wars so I am very excited to see customs from the animated series. Rurisk pays homage to this fallen clone with his Custom Shadow Squadron Matchstick Lego Star Wars Clone minifig. The Shadow Squadron has really cool markings on thier armor and Rurisk does a great job recreating the look on a small scale. Being a fan of the new Clone Wars Animated series, I am happy to see customizers paying homage to this new Star Wars format and CloneArmyCustoms has made a great squad from the premier episode in the series with his Custom Lego Clone Wars LieutenantThire, Yoda, and Clone Squad minifigs. Although Yoda is not custom, he really tried to stay true to the series when he made these minifigs so here is a rundown of the Clones you will get:
Lieutenant Thire with Custom DC-15A Rifle DC-15S Pistol
Early in the war Thire, serving as a lieutenant, was assigned alongside his troops, Jek and Rys, to escort Jedi Master Yoda to a diplomatic mission to Rugosa. When their transport was shot down by Separatist frigates, Yoda and the troopers landed on the moon’s surface in the escape pod. The clones helped Yoda to get past an entire battalion of battle droids, set by Assaj Ventress to intercept him, in order to secure a treaty with ToydarianKing Katuunko. Thire was wounded by a super battle droid during the mission, but still continued to fight alongside Yoda until their task was successfully completed.
Jek with Custom Z-6 Rotary Cannon
At the beginning of the Clone Wars Jek had a relatively uneventful posting in the Senate district. Probably because of the sedate confines of Senate and diplomatic escort duty Jek became obsessed with weapons as an outlet. He was an expert in all manner of small arms blaster weaponry, and had even gone so far as requisitioning and obtaining heavy weapons even though they weren’t part of his mission requirements.
Rys with Custom DC-15S Blaster and Pistol
Early in the war Rys was posted on Coruscant, where he usually served as a diplomatic escort or protection for the Senate district. Though he was loyal to the Galactic Republicas any of his brother, Rys was disappointed by this assignment and eager to join his brothers on the remote battlefronts. When off-duty, he would, as a hobby, track the movement of Republic fleet assets and follow the course of the war as it unfolded in the Outer Rim.
Ever wonder how Captain Rex gets around when he is trying to inspire his troops to defeat General Grievous and his Separatist Droid Army? GoodSchmoe has an idea with his Custom Lego Star Wars Captain Rex Minifig and Speederbike concept. To be more aerodynamic, Captain Rex has left his Pauldron at home and is ready for some streamlined action. My favorite vehicles in the Star Wars universe have been the Speeder Bikes. I remember when I was 8 and watched Return of the Jedi (the first Star Wars Movie I can actually remember watching in theater) and seeing the Speeder Bike chase and thinking that was the coolest thing. I could imagine this Speeder Bike working in both land and space as Captain Rex hops back and forth between Republic Attack Cruisers. I do have to give credit to the Lego Star Wars customizers for coming up with original ideas that are very well executed using a very small canvas to work with and jv2402’s Custom Lego Star Wars Mandalorian Assault Warrior is no exception. This figure looks like a mash up between Jango and Boba Fett on steroids. First, the helmet is a unique design and is painted to resemble Jango Fett’s armor. He has given this minifig extra shoulder protection that flows very nicely into the jetpack. The kama is a very nice touch and helps soften up the figure. Commander Bly was only in Revenge of the Sith for a brief moment but the effects were long lasting and Rurisk has captured his essence in minifig form with his Custom Lego Star Wars figure. He nailed the yellows and browns and use of soft goods on the minifig is a nice touch. This figure was made with made with custom decals, painted modified helmet with movable and removable visor, pauldron, kama and a custom blaster. Commaner Bly is one of my favorite clones and I hope to see more of him in the new Star Wars Clone Wars Animated Series (they already had Commander Thire in the first episode so there is hope!). One of my favorite Clones from Star Was Attack of the Clones (and the new Clone Wars Animated Movie) are the Clone Pilots and Darrens5150 pays a very nice homage to them with his Custom Clone Pilot Lego Star Wars figure. I love the helmet design of the Clone pilots and they were the first Clones that Star Wars fans were introduced to where they looked different than the standard Clone uniform. Darrens5150 did an excellent job designing the helmet, which gives this clone its distinct look. From the 9th Assault Squadron on Kashyyyk comes Rurisk’s Custom Lego Star Wars Kashyyyk Trooper minifig. It was great to see the evolution of the Biker Scouts from Return of Jedi surface in Revenge of the Sith as BARC Troopers and Kashyyyk Troopers. The Scout Troopers are some of my favorite figures and it is great to see the Lego minifig versions. With customs decals and a painted helmet, Rurisk’s Custom Lego Star Wars Kashyyyk Trooper minifig will be a great addition to your Lego Star Wars minifig collection.

Darrens5150: I started collection SW action figs (Hasbro) in 2000 & after a few years my wife wanted to collect something, so I bought her a SW Lego set for her to build& she loved it. As I bought them & she built them they starting growing on me.I hand paint every fig I custom myself. I have a work room w/ a lot of little tools, I’ve collected, to make my work easier.
AFC: When did you start making customs?

Darrens5150: As a kid I always liked building & painting models & saw some of the SW Lego customs being sold on eBay & thought “Boy I could do that & maybe even better” So I researched out the supplies. I had already been selling on eBay for years

Darrens5150: I try to work on only 10 at a time, I only have a few days a week to work on them

Specializing in giving Lego Star Wars fans what they want, Joe’s Custom Creations has designed and modified the Clone Wars Aerial STAP vehicles and also made some great improvements to the Battle Droids who pilot them. Fans were first introduced to the STAP in Star Wars Episode 1, The Phantom Menace, but they made a very cool appearance in the latest Clone Wars Animated Movie in the battle of Teth. There unique aspect about his customs is that he does not use any decals, so it is just like getting a figure straight from the factory at LEGO. When I first came across Christo’s Custom Lego Star Wars Shaak Ti minifig, I thought this was produce by LEGO! There are no decals on this figure, which is special since many Custom Star Wars Lego minifig customizers use decals to create their figures. The color of the pants reminds me of the color of Obi Wan’s Jedi outfit from 1978 and Christo did an excellent job creating Shaak Ti’s hair. Add a glow in the dark lightsaberand you have one awesome minifig to add to your Custom Lego Star Wars collection. We were first introduced to the Airborne Clone Trooper in the Revenge of the Sith movie where the Utapau Clone Troopers decended onto to the planet for war. Since then, there have been many different flavors of clones produced by Hasbro for all regiments and one of my favorite is the 501st! This week, Clone Army Customs has made a Custom Lego Star Wars 501st Airborne minifig I must say that this is one of the best minifigs I have come across so far. The custom casted helmet is the perfect scale for the figure and the decals are highly detailed. It is great to see customizers filling gaps in toy lines with their own creativity and Christo has done this with his Custom Lego Star Wars Tauntaun. rik_biel has made one of the coolest Lego Mini Figs I have ever seen with his Custom Lego Star Wars Jedi Hunter Clone Trooper figure. Who knew you could pack this much detail in a mini fig? Here is a rundown of what this clone contains:

Fully Brick Models has outdone themselves by recreating a famous scene and village from the final chapter of the Star Wars saga, Return of the Jedi. It comes with everything pictured, except the mini-figs. The birds that adorn the upper canopy, and the owl that looks down watching over the night come with this. You will notice we have also included an Ewok Glider which comes with the tree and is actually attached with a clear translucent bar so its extremely sturdy and invisible to see the attachment, thus it appears as though the Ewok is actually flying just near the tree, about to swoop down on the Imperial Stormtroopers or the AT-ST’s.
It comes with long vines that inter-twine throughout the village tree. The actual ewok huts are constructed of a beautiful colour which matches perfectly the colour scheme from the movie, as well as the reddish-brown of the tree. We first tried normal orange for the Ewok Hut, but it was too bright and looked wrong. Then we tried other shades of colour, and thus the colour scheme is simply identical to the movie. The base of the tree is very big so it can hold up the vast Ewok Village and it comes with the baseplates included. It tapers into the ground just like the actual Sequia trees, with huge buttressed roots penetrating into the ground from its thick trunk. This was emulated with a mass of long tapering slopes strategically positioned. The cost in time and massive numbers of parts for building this much lego was a lot, but well, well worth it, all you have to do is look at the finished product. You will not find this anywhere, just like all our custom models, as they are a work of art by us.”

At over three kilometers in diameter, the enormous vessels resemble flattened disks with a central sphere containing the ship’s bridge and reactor assemblies. Here is more about this great custom from mightyhutt himself:”The model is built from well over 800 genuine Lego parts, all are BRAND NEW, handled only for the construction of the model. I have tried hard to find the right parts for the job to make it look as realistic as possible. There are large numbers of wings, plates and hinges and I have put as much detail into the model as possible. The model consists of the main ring which is about 35cm (14 inches) across, its outer edge has lots of detail, and the inner side is part-covered with transparent blue and clear parts to represent the inner windows. There is an engine section at the rear with the spires and main dish on top, and the central sphere has the bridge tower and smaller dishes as it appears in the movie. I will include a CD containing over 100 digital photos, detailing all aspects of the model’s construction inside and out. This will help in restoring any pieces that have come off during transit, and should enable you to re-build the entire model should you wish to build other models from it, then re-build it in the future.”
