Waxer Boil and Numa Custom Lego Star Wars Minifigs

Straight from the Star Wars The Clone Wars animated series comes Rurisk’s Custom Lego Star Wars Waxer, Boil, and Numa minifigs.  If you remember from the series, Waxer and Boil find an orphaned little girl on the planted they are liberating from the Separatists.  They risk their lives to reunite little Numa with her family.  You can recreate this scene with this awesome custom lot!  Numa even comes with a little doll so head over to eBay and check out  Rurisk’s Custom Lego Star Wars Waxer, Boil, and Numa minifigs.

Custom Clone Wars ARF Trooper

The ARF Troopers are specialized clone troopers that carry out short-range reconnaissance for Jedi Generals and Clone Commanders.  Ric.Sea.Jedi has captured the look and feel of these clones from the “Landing at Point Rain episode of the Clone Wars Animated Series with his Custom ARF Trooper figure.  The ARF Troopers are one of my favorite styles of clones as they remind me of the BARC Troopers and the Biker Scouts.  The camo on this figure is blended very well and here is your chance to own one of the clones that was just in an episode.  It will probably take Hasbro another year to make one of these figures (if they get around to it) so head over to eBay and place a bid on this Custom ARF Trooper figure.

Visas Mar Knights of the Old Republic 2 Custom

Based on her appearance in the Knights of the Old Republic 2 game, JackofTradze has created this excellent Custom Star Wars KOTOR 2 Visas Mar figure.   This figure is well done and even though you can’t see her eyes, this figure’s face is very striking and the figure is very well done as it stays true to the concept art.

In honor of my son’s 5th birthday today, I am featuring one of his favorite Star Wars vehicles.  MeadMunch has created this Custom Battle Damaged AT TE as he was tired of the clean cartoon look to the vehicle.  The detailing is really nice on this AT TE and it looks like it has been through hell!  To see more photos and to place a bid, head over to eBay!

I still really like the Clone Wars series and there are a few tried and true customizers out there still making figures.  Lilenobi brings us this Custom Clone Trooper Red figure, which is part of Commander Gree’s Elite Search and Rescue team.  This figure is well done and comes with carbon scoring and a removable helmet.  To see more photos, head over to eBay!

I haven’t had inspiration of late to write about custom Star Wars figure but Stocos28 has given me reason with his Custom Sith Lord from the Old Republic video game.  Not only is this figure not being produced, Stocos28 got the idea for the figure from the Old Republic trailer.  My favorite part of this figure is the breathing apparatus is it is reminiscent of Darth Vader himself.  Who knows what this figure will be called but rest assured you can own it today by heading over to eBay and checking out this Custom Sith Lord figure.

Cad Bane made his appearance in the Clone Wars animated series and boy was he a force to reckon with.  Ruthless and fearless, jackoftradze has brought him to life with his Custom Clone Wars Cad Bane figure.  This figure really captures the look of Cad Bane and I love the accessories and guns that were made for the figure.  The hat and soft goods really complete the figure and he chose a great shade of blue for the face and hands.  To view more photos and to place a bid on jackoftradze’s Custom Clone Wars Cad Bane figure, head over to eBay!

Ironhide44 keeps the clones coming with his latest Custom Clone Wars Animated Sergeant Sinker figure.  This has to be one of my favorite figures from Ironhide 44 to date because of the detail on this one.  The shoulder and helmet deco are very nicely done.  Here is some more detail on how this custom was made from the source:

I just came across another excellent Clone Wars custom.  This time, mdrhody brings us his Custom Clone Wars Sergeant Denal from the ‘Duel of the Droids’ episode.  This figure is another excellent example of customizers taking charge and giving fans what they want…more clones!!!  For those not familiar with Denal, here is some info I found on him from Wookieepedia:

“Denal was one of the most experienced clone troopers in the elite 501st Legion, having survived many Clone Wars campaigns alongside Captain Rex and Jedi General Anakin Skywalker. At the start of the war, Denal saw action on Rodia, Tatooine and Orto Plutonia, conducting many missions on those planets. He rescued a battalion of clone troopers from a Separatist ambush, recovered a lost Republic cargo, and helped a Jedi in distress defeat a force of battle droids. On one occasion, he even saved General Skywalker’s Padawan Ahsoka Tano from a Separatist prison on Tatooine. Denal was also involved in the discovery and destruction of a new Confederacy superweapon—one that could prevent Republic radar from detecting enemy armies.  Later in the war, Denal accompanied Rex, Skywalker, and Tano on a mission to destroy a Separatist listening post, which they successfully completed. Of the five-man squad of clones that was sent there along with the Jedi, only he and Rex survived the mission.”

Ironhide44 has come out with another great addition to his line of Clone Wars customs with his Custom Clone Wars Chopper figure from ‘The Hidden Enemy’ episode.  This was a great episode where Chopper was believed to be the traitor but it was actually Slick, another clone who knew of the Jedi’s secret plans.  This figure is a great representation of Chopper as he appeared in the series.  Let’s read more about this great figure:

One aspect of the Star Wars universe is that we got to see the evolution in armor from the Clone Wars to Revenge of the Sith and daveSstation Creations has a great looking Custom Clone Wars Animated Shock Trooper to feast your eyes on this week.  Yesterday, I wrote an article about his Custom Order 66 AT TE so this figure would be a perfect addition to your collection if you were to bid on that or just add another great figure to your collection.  The markings on the Shock Trooper are well done and the color is perfect to fit in with the ROTS Troopers.  daveSstation Creations has really filled a void in the Animated Clone Wars line so head over to eBay and place a bid on his Custom Clone Wars Animated Shock Trooper figure.

daveSstation Creations is back with another awesome AT TE with his Custom Order 66 Mustafar AT TE.  He already has a Kashyyk and a Snow version and this is my favorite one to date!  First, the Shock Troopers are my favorite of the clones that I was introduced to in Revenge of the Sith and what a way to honor them by giving them a custom ride.  The colors are perfect for this AT TE as this would blend in with the terrain of the lava planet.  No detail was spared in this AT TE!  I love the Mandalorian logos all over the vehicle he chose the perfect shade of red for this one.  Rounding out this awesome custom is an Animated Clone Wars figure decked out in Shock Trooper detail:

Ironhide44 is back with another excellent Star Wars figure with his Custom Commander Stone Clone Wars figure.  I am surprised by the lack of clones produced to date for the Clone Wars animated series given that the series is focusing on CLONES!  We don’t need more R2-D2’s or C3PO’s, we need more Clones and lucky for us that there are talented customizers like Ironhide44 to answer the call.  Let’s read more about this great figure:

I echo Ironhide44’s thoughts when he said that Waxer and Boil are the most interesting Clones from the series so far.  The characters demonstrated compassion, leadership, and skill on the battlefield and Ironhide44’s Custom Waxer and Boil figures are an awesome addition to your Clone Wars collection.  I guarantee that these figures will not see the light of day for a long time from Hasbro so be sure to bulk up your Clone collection with figures you will never find in the store.  It was only on the second time watching the episode where I noticed the different helmets and Ironhide44 has captured their unique elements from the small upside down triangle on Boil’s helment to ‘Klanka’ count tick marks on Waxer’s helmet.  Ironhide44 is an excellent Clone Wars customizer so head over to eBay and check out his Custom Waxer and Boil figures.

Before I write about Lilenobi’s Custom Clone Wars Clone Pilot Hawk figure, I have to say that the way he set up his listing reminds me of the Clone Firefighter Pilot ad where it said that figures that spend a few seconds on screen get immortalized in action figure.  Although Clone Pilot Hawk did only spend a whopping 3 seconds on screen in the Clone Wars Animated Series, Lilenobi has done a great job capturing him in a figure.  The deco reminds me of the 101st Airborne with the Hawks painting on the sides of his helmet.  I was pleasantly surprised by the new deco when I saw the cartoon and I was very happy to see this custom up on eBay!

Obscure Alloy makes one of a kind custom sculptures from recycled metal and I am completely impressed with their work.  Take their Custom Metal Boba Fett figure, which is a work of art and stands a towering 17″ tall.  In high school, I took auto shop and we had to weld for the class and I must tell you that it takes some mad skills to weld and work with metal.  One my favorite parts of this custom are the small gears (or cogs) that were used under the arm sockets.  I am sure that they could have used other parts but the gear is the perfect part for this figure and it is that attention to detail that makes each figure stand out.  They also did an excellent job on the helmet and the overall look and feel of the Bounty hunter.  I had the opportunity to check out their website and all of their work is amazing.  They have other pieces on eBay right now so when you are finished placing a bid on this Custom Metal Boba Fett figure, go check out their other customs.

Imagine if Darth Sidious did not leave Darth Maul on the floor to be mopped up by the Naboo janitor but took him to his pad back on Coruscant and gave him the Darth Vader treatment?  This is what Maul would look like and fstoys4u gives us this Custom Star Wars Cyborg Darth Maul figure to play this out.  Darth Maul has a General Greivous type look to him so he can continue to be the badass that he is.  I give the customizer props for the concept and for giving Darth Maul a second chance!

Dreamer Kustomz is filling in the Sideshow line with a much needed figure with his Custom Darth Nihilus Star Wars 12″ Sith Lord!  The face, which is the most important part of this custom, is very semetrical and even and is a great likeness to sketches and art that I have seen.  If you are not familiar with Dreamers Kustomz work, here is how he desribes his figures:

A few days ago I featured a Custom 12″ Commander Bacara from a collector who needs to trim down his collection and this Custom 12″ Commander Appo is coming from that same person.  The 501st Legion of Clones were an ominous site as they decended on the Jedi Temple to carry out Order 66 in the Revenge of the Sith movie.  This custom portays Commander Appo in the aftermath with his dirty armor and carbon scoring.  One very subtle difference in other 12″clones from Medicom is that this custom has a greenish tint on the helmet, along the lines of Commander Gree from the Battle of Kashyyyk.  There are only 7 hours left to nab this one so head over to eBay and place a bid on this Custom 12″ Commander Appo figure.

One apsect of collecting that is tragic is when people need to trim down thier collection, which brings us to this Custom 12″ Commander Bacara Sideshow figure.  Bacara only appeared in the Revenge of the Sith movie for a few seconds, but it was enough to make a lasting impression.  While stationed on Mygeeto, Bacara was given Order 66 by Palpatine and, along with his fellow Marines, gunned down Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi. This figure features a modified helmet sculpt, interchangeable helmet/clone head sculpt, Pauldron, real cloth Kama, and Blaster.  This figure will compliment your Sideshow or Medicom collection.  Someone else’s loss is your gain so head over to eBay and bid on this Custom 12″ Commander Bacara Sideshow figure.

Ever wonder what was under Darth Maul’s tunic?  Mace2008 gives us a great representation with his Custom Marvel Legends Darth Maul figure.  I love the concept of this figure because we never saw Darth Maul look like this in the movie.  The way the body art flows from the head to the torso and the arms is done very well and I like the body choice for his figure as it is not overly muscular.  The back design is an interesting concept as it is mostly black and I give Mace2008 kudos for some artistic freedom.  The eyes are done very well and give Maul that sadistic, psychotic, possessed by the dark side look we have grown to love.  To check out more photos and to place a bid on Mace2008’s Custom Marvel Legends Darth Maul figure, head over to eBay!

Fusing two great toy lines together, DarthLeon brings to life a Star Wars figure from the Force Unleashed video game with his Custom Starkillerfigure.  There are some great aspects of this figure that deserve special note.  First, the paint aps and sculpting makes this figure very life like, especially the way the face is angled.  The use of soft goods is a nice touch and gives the figure a more realistic appearance.  To tell you more about this, DarthLeon explains below 

“He is styled after the STAR WARS UNLEASHED VIDEO GAME and he also appears in the SOUL CALIBER game as well. Starkiller is the apprentice of Darth Vader. The outfit is mostly fabric and he comes with a lightsaber. I used many references to get the details just right. He has been sculpted and painted with many shades of color to give it a more realistic and model appearance, yet retaining his articulation.”

Only 30 minutes left to snag aeseven7’s Custom Clone Wars Animated Commander Neyo figure!  This figure is very well done and was created by aeseven7’s own interpretation of armor transition from the Clone Wars to the dreaded Order 66 call when we first saw Commander Neyo in Star Wars Episode III on Selucami.  My favorite part is the head sculpt and he did an awesome job melding the new Animated Clone Wars series into something familiar while retaining the look and feel of the Revenge of the Sith movie.  Head over to eBay to catch this one before it is gone!

Lord Scythican, a very talented Star Wars customizer, has put his energy and skill in making very small but extremely detailed Miniature Figures.  His Custom Star Wars Miniature Darth Traya, a figure from the Knights of the Old Republic 2, is surrounded by 3 levitating lightsabers, a very cool effect and sets the figure off very nicely.  Working with miniature figures takes a steady hand and Lord Scythican takes much pride in his work and it shows!  Let’s hear more from the source about what inspired this great figure:

First off this is Darth Traya from Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. I made her using a Very Rare miniature Kreia, who is actually the same character. I have spoken to a lot of people who loved Kreia as a character, but thought it was weird that she had a Double Bladed Lightsaber. At first I thought about just removing one of the blades, then I thought, why not repaint her and make her look like Darth Traya, (which is what the fans wanted anyway). Then I decided why not make this interesting and put her on a custom bade that is modeling after the most difficult fight in the game. So there you have it, I took a Very Rare miniature and made her way cooler than anyone thought possible. In addition, I have not glued the Very Rare Kreia base to the custom base. It is removable as seen in the second picture. I have cut a hole in the center of the custom base with the three Levitating Lightsabers that is used to place the original mini in. It fits snug and will not fall out.

Ever wondered what it would be like if Hasbro actually made vehicles to scale with your 3 3/4″ figures?  mcrobo creations gives you a window into what that would be like with his Custom Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Bargewhich is 4 feet long!  Even with Hasbro’s attempt to make the Millenium Falcon bigger, it is still way too small, unlike this one of a kind custom which looks amazing and according to Ido, is rock solid.  Imagine the battle scenes you could recreate with this behemoth!  I would not pass this one up and the price is very appealing!  Think of how much the BMF costs and compare it to mcrobo creations Custom Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge and you will be tempted to hit the Buy it Now button!  Head over to eBay and check it out or check out the other Custom Star Wars figures while you are there!

Getting a glimpse into the fall of the Jedi Order in Star Wars Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith, was a sad part of the movie but a1deluxe has created a diorama from the scene on Mygeeto Bridge.  This Custom Star Wars Mygeeto Bridge diorama, you get to relive the battle in 3 3/4 inch scale.  Measuring 31″x18″x14″, the bridge is highly detailed and complete with carbon scoring.  What is great about this dio is that it is large enough stage a full battle with plenty of room for the Galactic Marines and Droid Armies to have at it.  The Star Wars line is lacking in dioramas so it is great to see them from time to time.  To see more pictures, go check out a1deluxes Custom Star Wars Mygeeto Bridge diorama or check out the other great Star Wars Customs while you are there.

Custom Darth Krayt

Only a couple hours left to bid on this Custom Star Wars Legacy Darth Krayt figure that kr2700 as up for bids on eBay.  This Dark Lord is from Star Wars Legacy and is very well executed and mirrors the comic representation very nicely.  The mouldings on the shoulders and helmet is of special note as the sculpting on this figure is very intricate.  The helmet is removable, which is a nice feature so that you can have a couple different ways to pose the figure next to your Sith Lord collection.

Custom Cade Skywalker by CollectableKid

 The CollectableKid has done an amazing job with his rendition of a classic Star Wars Legacy character with his Custom Star Wars Marvel Legends Cade Skywalker figure.  I am always amazed by the level of detail the CollectableKid puts into his customs and this figure is no exception.  What impresses me the most about this figure is the realism that was achieved.  The hair looks flowing and the facial expression looks lifelike.  I have always been impressed with the CollectableKid’s sculpting ability but it is also the way he blends the paint aps with the figure give it that special something not found in many customs.  To find out more about this custom from the source, read on below:

Vintage Scum has a very cool twist on one of my favorite Star Wars vehicles with his Custom Star Wars Imperial Tie Fighter. One of the aspects I really like about this custom is the wing design. The wing have an aerodynamic flair to them with the flat pieces in the middle of craft. The cockpit is very different as it protrudes from the front but it still retains the classic imperial look and feel of all of the classic Star Wars vehicles. This is why I made this website! It is talented customizers that keep their imagination flowing, which keeps me writing and writing. Let’s hear how Vintage Scum describes this one of a kind vehicle:

“Here we have a custom tie fighter for the 3 3/4 scale. The tie fighter has been painted and weathered to give it a “battle worn” look. Acrylic model paints were used with a finishing dull coat. The entry/exit hatch is one piece. The custom tie pilot is also included. He is articulate only at the neck, shoulders, waist and upper thighs (again made from figs of the potf2 line). His blastech e-11 is included but not shown in the pix. The 4 round torpedo magazine below the canopy can be removed if desired. The flaps on the magazine open and close. The stand is also included. Going above and beyond and building upon Sideshow’s Bespin Luke Skywalker figure, grizzlelee has given the attention this figure needs to capture the look and feeling of one of the best scenes in movie history. This Custom Sideshow Bespin Luke Skywalker figure depicts Luke during his duel with Darth Vader on Cloud City in the epic film The Empire Strikes Back. The facial accents and detailing bring this figure to life and the custom distressing add realism to this 1/6 scale figure. Mastercloner brings us his interpretation of the mysterious Darth Plagueis the wise! This is an excellent piece and it gives a face to this icon in the Star Wars universe. Mastercloner gives us more information about this illusive dark lord of the Sith: 

“Darth Plagueis was a Sith Lord who, according to legend, had discovered a way to manipulate midi-chlorians to prevent death and create life. However, his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Although it is never officially stated in the cinematic release of Revenge of the Sith that Plagueis was Darth Sidious’ master, the official Star Wars Databank characterizes him as such. This information is included in the film’s novelization, in which Sidious says, “Darth Plagueis was my master… before I killed him.” It is also mentioned in the Star Wars novels Labyrinth of Evil and Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. “The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise”, as related by Palpatine, is the only example of in-universe literature contained within the six Star Wars films.”

Mastercloner is giving Star Wars fans a reason to add the word ‘custom’ in thier searches for Star Wars figures on eBay with his Custom Sith Darth Sion. While the Evolutions packs have added some strength in the Sith count, it is the custom Sith figures that keep fans coming back for more. From the artists rendering that I have seen, Mastercloner has done a very good job striking a balance between the concept and custom. Some of the artists renderings of Darth Sion I have seen look much more worse for the ware but Mastercloner’s version may take place earlier in his history where he is much less battle scarred. The right arm that wields his lightsaber flows naturally into his pale white flesh and the crackled look that is applied to the body is very well done. Torturing and killing others helped him enhance his strength in the Force, and his ability to feed on his own pain and hatred made him all but immortal; for if he were struck down, he could always arise by feeding on his agony. He was also a lightsaber master, and arguably the most infamous and deadly Sith Assassin of the era. Sion was known to be responsible for the deaths of countless Jedi during the shadow war waged by himself and Darth Nihilus. However, the alliance between Traya, Nihilus, and himself could not last forever. Sion and Nihilus attacked Darth Traya at the Trayus Core and as such, exiled her. Sion and Nihilus continued their shadow war by sending assassins after the last known “Jedi”—an exile who had served under Revan during the Mandalorian War.

Who doesn’t need a bodygaurd? If you are a Sith, you may get by without one but only the wise look to Darth Virax for ultimate protection. Monsterforge Illustration Studio has created a one of a kind Sith bodyguard with their Custom Star Wars Sith Guardian Darth Virax figure. The detail on this figure is amazing for a 3 3/4 scale. I really like the way Monsterforge Illustration Studio has given the skin an old and crackled look to it and the sith robe is a great addition to the figure. The robe is very unique and really brings out the dark side of the figure. Looking at the facial features, I would not want to cross this Sith in a dark ally. Let’s learn more about Darth Virax:

“The first step in transforming this vehicle was to separate all of the pieces and take apart the centre pod console. I then individually spray painted each part carefully with a more authentic looking gray color. Once this had dried, I then carefully painted the instrumentation buttons and switches and added seat detailing as well (see the close up pictures). Next I then assembled all of the pieces and applied the model detailing and weathering techniques to get dark paint in all of the grooves (a “wash”) and to then highlight all of the edges and add realistic weathering (“dry brushing”). These two techniques combine to give “scale” and realism to the model and really bring out the detail in Hasbro’s sculpt. I then used special model-making masking tape to get the straight lines on the green and red unit type markings, the dark gray stripes on the legs and the circular red and white “Republic” insignia. A light dry brushing of brown on the “feet” to simulate dirtiness and the painting was then finished. The next step was to apply some “battle damage” – this is an area where it is very easy to go too far and lose realism. Using a special technique that I discovered only two weeks ago, I applied several “scorch” marks around the vehicle to simulate blackened blaster burn marks. The key to maintaining a realistic look is to not apply too much weathering on a small scale vehicle. Moderation and restraint were exercised here to give the appearance that the vehicle has seen battle, but has not been too badly damaged. You want something that looks like it is still “in service and potent.” Once I was happy the painting and weathering were complete, I then gave the vehicle a generous coat of protective “dull cote” lacquer to ensure that it could be handled normally with the paint and effects still being protected. And there you have it! Look closely at the pictures – this AT-AP vehicle looks as close to “real” as you can get! It has also retained all functionality, including full movement of all legs (see 3-legged picture) and moving of all guns.”

coolcat74 has created a stunning version of the Star Wars Snowtrooper with an interesting twist. One aspect that stood out about this custom was that all of the armor is custom made. I am simply amazed at the craftsmanship of of this Snowtrooper as it looks like a high end collectible that is lightyears beyond what I have seen from Sideshow Collectibles or Medicom. I like the fact that the armor is dirty and not a bright white as coolcat74 has captured the essence of a Snowtrooper fresh from battle and now for the twist…this is a female Snowtrooper and you would not even know it when all of the armor is on. coolcat74 goes into more detail about this custom:

vintage_scum has poured his talent and skill and created this amazing Custom Star Wars Mara Jade figure in 1/6 scale which would rival anything Sideshow Collectibles ever produced. It really takes a keen eye to select a great base figure to start from and I think vinatage_scum has nailed this one with his choice to use Cy Girl Blaze from the BBI line. With 1/6 scale figures, it is all about how real you can make these figures match concept art and bring these figures to life. To do this, vintage_scum has designed the perfect set of accessories to compliment her. For example, the knee pads and shin guards were custom made by him and they add an extra dimension to the figure that you don’t see in most 1/6 scales figures. Add a Jedi cloak and a killer lightsaber and you have a recipe for a classic custom. It always astounds me how much effort it takes to make a custom figure and I lucky enough to correspond with vintage_scum and he let me in on how me made this excellent piece: 

“I started with a cy girl blaze. Her shoulder straps came from a backpack from the dragon/bbi line that held an ar-7 .22 rifle. I had the straps glued together with an ammo drum on top of the junction point from the gundam model 1/144 line. The gloved hands, knee pads, and goggles were from the same dragon/bbi line. The knee pads had shallolw holes drilled in with a dremel. The goggles were actually sunglasses with the arms removed with an elastic strap in their place to fit around her head. Her cloak was purchased from eBay but I had cut just below the stitch line just to have the hood. The shin guards were custom made from thin, flat pieces of plasic curved and shaped to fit. The “lines” on her inner thighs and shin guards were made from long, flat elastic “string” which can be purchased from Micheals Arts and Crafts, measured then glued directly onto her body suit. Utility belt and dl-44 were from the 1/6 hasbro POTF Luke hoth version I believe. I chopped the barrel and added cooling vents to the front of the magazine well on the dl-44. The holdout blaster was made from a skorpian machine pistol, chopped and glued. The lightsaber was a 1/6 luke from the poft line. The curved hilt was cut then replaced with a small, circular lego piece. A piece on an elastic strap was then wrapped around the hilt to simulate her emperors hand saber. Saber blade was obviously from a hasbro mace 1/6 saga. The vibroblade was made from steel I had asa part of a spawn figure, sheath was from the dragon/bbi line.”

I recently created a Sith Lords filter for the Star Wars section of my website where the latest and greatest 12″ Sith Lord customs can be showcased. This week, stocos28 has created a Custom 12″ Darth Nihilus, the main perpetrator of the First Jedi Purge, which drew the Jedi on the brink of extinction. This custom stays true to the concept art from the Star Wars Expanded Universe and created a custom that would rival anything Sideshow Collectibles made or any other high end Star Wars company would ever dream of making.

stenhunter brings us this amazing Custom Star Wars MK IV Heavy Tank (AT-HT) and special Clone Tank Commander “Hel’am” to drive this behemoth. Coming up with his own Star Wars Custom vehicle, stenhunter takes you into his Star Wars Universe. I do not come across many fan made creations that are made well and run with a totally new concept. This vehicle and figure was a real treat to come across as this custom was very well thought out and executed. One thing that is missing in the Star Wars universe are terrain vehicles and tanks. It is interesting that this tank was made without treads but as stenhunter points out, not many Star Wars vehicles have treads so he is staying true to the design specs. I think it was a great idea to ditch the treads and make this custom blend more with the Star Wars vehicles in the movies and the toys. The paint aps are done really well and it looks like stenhunter takes great care when designing and creating his customs, a quality that you look for when buying them. It is customs like these that take toy design to the next level. Speaking of design specs, here is a rundown of what stenhunter’s Heavy Tank offers:

“So my AT-HT started out as a “Corps” tracked tank. I found it at Wal-Mart and was surprised to find out it was relatively inexpensive. As you can see the tank was your standard green plastic with really no extra detail outside of some venting and some minor rivets. After adding dozens of tiny styrene squares and plating, and making some resin pours from an old imperial shuttle the tank slowly begins to transform into something cool. The final step was deciding on the “engines” I didn’t want to use treads again because tracked vehicles are almost non-existent in the SW galaxy. So I found two used cans of AXE spray I had and embellished them some. I think the final pieces came out great. Finally working out a color scheme for the Trooper had me for a few days. What color, where would the color go, and how much was too much? I mocked up a few pictures and decided on the green. I think in the end it came out rather well.”

Straight from the pages of Star Wars Expanded Universe comes stocos28’s version of Darth Talon, a female Sith who you would not want to run into in a dark alley. The crimson skin of this custom is a nice shade and matches photo quite nicely! The tattoos look carefully placed and although they are not a direct translation, they look awesome and compliment the figure nicely. It is great when customizers deviate from what they see and make the figure their own so this is a welcome change. I like the Sith waist robe on the figure as it gives her a much classier look than a simple a bikini.

All in all, this Custom Darth Talon is a great looking figure and should get some big bucks on eBay, where you can still find it and place a bid!

Darth Talon was a Sith Lord in Darth Krayt’s new Sith Order c. 137 ABY. A female Lethan Twi’lek, she had red and black Sith tattoos covering her body, head, and lekku, which she had earned in ritual combat. She was trained by a fellow Twi’lek Sith named Darth Ruyn, whom she later killed on Krayt’s command with a swift decapitating strike of her lightsaber. Talon was a third-generation Sith, raised on the ancient Sith burial world of Korriban to serve as the second of Darth Krayt’s two Hands, Darth Nihl being the other. Thus, she had no idea of what life was like outside the order and had no purpose to her existence other than to serve as the executor of Krayt’s will. A test of her loyalty came early when Krayt ordered Talon to kill her instructor, Darth Ruyn, who had just presented her to Krayt for final evaluation. Talon responded without hesitation. Darth Talon was cold and dispassionate, and followed the commands of Darth Krayt without question or hesitation, as shown when she decapitated Darth Ruyn. She was unmerciful like most Sith, keeping Elke Vetter alive only for the amount of time needed to extract the location of Marasiah Fel from the grievously wounded Imperial Knight. Darth Talon, like almost all Sith, was armed with a single crimson-bladed lightsaber. It was elongated and notched with crisscrossing grooves. The hilt was constructed of a material that physically did not appear to be metal, and instead resembled a sort of rock.

The introduction of the Republic Gunships to Hasbro’s lineup of vehicles was a welcome addition! The first time I saw one of these bad boys was on the silver screen and Attack of the Clones finally lived up to its name as thousands of Clones decended onto Geonosis to battle the Separatist forces and rescue the Jedi. The databank over at starwars.com succintly lays out the details of these massive ships:

“Rugged, combat-equipped repulsorcraft, Republic attack gunships rained down blistering barrages of laser and rocket retribution against the droid forces of the Separatists. Each winged gunship was covered in weapons, offering air-to-ground and air-to-air support as well as serving as an infantry transport.

The front of the gunship features hunchback-style cockpit bubbles, wherein the gunship pilot and copilot / gunner sit in single file. Chin-mounted on the craft are a pair of laser cannon turrets. On the gunship’s dorsal surface are its primary armaments, two massive rocket launchers fed by a rear-mounted missile belts. The vessel’s splayed wings have a pair of automated bubble-turrets, with composite-beam laser weaponry. A second pair of bubble-turret cannons extends on articulated arms from the troop cabin, and are gunner-operated by clone troopers encased within the armored spheres. Air-to-air rockets are slung on the ventral surface of each wing. As far as the toy representation that Hasbro produced to compliment the toy line for Attack of the Clones, the gunships suffered from one serious flaw – missing bubble turrets. As described above, the cockpit turrets (as seen in the movie representation below) sported these massive turrets, very reminiscent of the B-17 bubble turrets on the under bellies of the bombers in World War 2.

The eBay seller, vader9900, created a simple fix for Hasbro’s oversight and lack of attention to detail. He created custom bubble turrets for the gunships (as seen below):

A very nice addition to the Gunship and fans of these vehicles had an opportunity to bid on one of these customs in an eBay auction that ended September 9th.
