Frenzy.Rumble, who is best known for his Custom Transformers, has given the Avatar movie some attention with his Custom AMP Mech Suit with Colonel Miles Quaritch. I had the opportunity to see the movie in IMAX 3D and I must say it was well worth it. I am usually not into 3D movies but the effects were very well done (and not overdone). One of the vehicles in the movie allowed the soldiers to venture out on the planet Pandora to do some major damage. Let’s read more about how Frenzy.Rumble was inspired to do this vehicle:
“What an amazing film! On my way home from seeing this awesome movie, I decided to make a quick stop at a toy store and pick up some of the movie’s toys. I started the customization process by fixing some of the weaker articulation. I proceeded to add some battle damage, and created/added a strap for the gun. I used a durable special chrome lacquer paint for the AMP’s joints and gun parts.”
jef_nkf pays a great homage to the now Governator of California with his Custom Terminator T800 figure. Since Terminator Salvation came out, I have been watching the older Terminator movies and I must say that jef_nkf does an excellent job of capturing the look and feel of the machine. I love the fine detailing in the face and it looks like he pay extra attention to the aspects that make this figure great. For example, the bullet holes in the sweater add to the realism and the blood stains around them give the illusion that the figure is bleeding through the holes. ContradictionWear Customz has outdone himself with his latest District 9 Scratch Built Prawn Bust. This bust is highly detailed and is very well executed. The facial features are well in proportion and the way the bust was sculpted, the figure has much depth. It is very hard to get eyes right but this is not issue for ContradictionWear as the way the eyes are shaded, the figure looks very life like and realistic. I just saw District 9 last night and first of all, it was an amazing movie with a great story that was fast paced. Hot on the heels of his last Mech, Jiveking7 has created another Custom Disctrict 9Prawn Mech figure that stands a towering 9″ tall. For being a scratch built figure, this Mech is very well done and looks like the alien machine from the movie. The Mech was an interesting twist to the movie but you will have to see District 9 to find out more. “One two, Freddy’s coming for you…” NTT has captured one of the silver screen’s most horrific icons with his Custom Marvel Legends Freddy Krueger figure. I remember watching a Nightmare on Elm Street and being thoroughly scared. This figure has so much gorey detail and effects and truly looks like the murderous villain with the blades for fingers. My favorite part of this custom is revealed under the classic green and red shirt:

NTT has given fans of the movie, A Clockwork Orange, something to salivate over with his Custom Alexfigure. Having 2 older brothers, I got exposed to many things I should not have seen and this movie was one of them. When it came out on VHS tape, my brother got a hold of a copy and being 7 years old at the time, I had no idea what was going on in that movie. I have never seen it since but seeing NTT’s Alex figure makes me want to revisit the movie. He captures the essence of a crazy person with this custom and he is decked out in his Clockwork Orange garb. NTT has a real treat in store for Batman fans with his Custom Joker in the look of Gary Oldman. This figure is very unique and I really like the creative thinking that made this figure come to light. If you remember characters that Gary Oldman has played (Sirius Black in the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban movie), he played a very convincing crazy person, perfect for the role of the Joker. The hair on this figure really captures Gary’s look and the detailing on the suit pay a nice homage to the Joker! Here is NTT with more information about this great figure:

Parts of this custom was sculpted with Aves apoxie (very durable) and completely hand painted in acrylics. Wanted to make a movie Joker with Gary Oldman’s face instead of Heath Ledger’s! Fans of Gary Oldman will no doubt remember his roles as psychopaths, and he would surely have done justice to the Joker character! At least it works in figure form! Included with this set is one of Joker’s henchmen, Bob the Goon.”

For you fans of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or more importantly, Jessica Rabbit, NTT has an excellent version of this beauty to share with you all. His Custom Jessica Rabbit Statue is a site to be seen (and owned). I am a big fan of customizers who can sculpt and this figure is beautifully done. NTT has really captured the essence and feeling of Jessica Rabbit and I will let him fill you in on the rest of the details:

Have always been a big fan of the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit and always wanted to see Jessica in an action figure form! There’s been many beautiful statues made of her, even funny-looking bendies, but not a figure in the 6 inch scale yet. This one-of-a-kind figure has some articulation but is meant more for display.”
