Fueled by the combustion chamber in the chest, Pack Rat Studios' Custom Steampunk Iron Man figure is the epitome of the age where steam and fire drive mechanical parts. The rivets and welding beads along with the copper exterior really give this figure the classic Steampunk look. The grill on the front of the figure looks like it was forged from an old stove or perhaps a coal powered train engine, which has a very cool light up effect inside. The smoke stacks on the shoulders look like they have been belching black smoke as the Iron Man suit clunks its way to freedom. The details on this figure are too numerous to mention but take a look riveting and armor work that was done on the hands and feet:
Pack Rat Studios' Custom Steampunk Iron Man figure is the perfect example how a modern day figure can be transformed back in time to a simpler era and you should head over to eBay to view more photos or place a bid!
By now you have probably figured out that I dig the Steampunk line of customs and Jin Saotome is continuing to feed my obsession with his Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk War Machine figure. You can imagine this War Machine figure, as Jin states, "ratcheting and clanking through the battlefield" when you look at the intricate clockwork detail in this custom. If I ever imagined what a Steampunk War Machine figure would look like, this would be it! I love the arching electricity coming across the power lines and the riveting of the metal suit, which creates the illusion of the figure being in the time period where electricity was new and the industrial revolution was on its way!
There is so much old school detail in this figure that if you do not look closely you will miss it. For example, you can see the gears poking out from under the chest armor and the riveting work inside the figures shoulder area. It would be cool if this gears turned and the figure electrically arched but I will take this figure any day! It always amazes me how much a customizer can pack into an figure and collectabletoyz305's Crimson Dynamo Marvel Legends Custom is no exception. Judging from the suit of this figure, it looks like this is the 8th incarnation of the Crimson Dynamo figure from the comics and in my opinion, the coolest of the suits. Created by Russian scientists, it does not surprise me that there is a red star smack in the middle of the chest and if you take another look, it is lit up by special LED's placed in the figure. The added tubing on the back and on the arms gives the figure a unique look that is straight from the comics.
They also have a cool video on the figure and you should watch it because they domonstrate many unique aspects of the figure and in my opinion, the figure looks much cooler in the video. Once you are finished watching the video, head over to eBay and place a bid on collectabletoyz305's Crimson Dynamo Marvel Legends Custom figure.embedded by Embedded Video
Just a couple hours left to nab this awesome Custom Iron Man Mark VI figure by Jin Saotome! Sometimes looks can be deceiving in this 3.5" figure! As Jin states, in his auction,
"...sometimes the easiest 'planned' customs turn out to be pretty hard. When I cracked open the light-up Mark VI 3 3/4" Iron Man pieces went everywhere! There are multiple metal tabs that are held in place by the body and set against the main battery. Those had to be put back in, the LED swapped from orange to a blue one, and the leads bent to match the circuit. A few hours later I was actually able to get him back together and working! He was repainted like the 6" figure that's coming out as a Walmart exclusive and lights up bright blue now."
What a great idea to replace the orange LED with a blue LED and the repainted figure looks worlds better than the original factory job. Even the smallest of details make this figure shine! For example, some of the figure is outlined in black (mouth, knees, eyes) and it is this subtle detail that makes this figure stand out among the rest. Like I said before, just a couple hours left on this auction so head over to eBay and place a bid on Jin's Custom Iron Man Mark VI figure and own a figure from a legend in the customizing community!
Michael Amore has a fully loaded Custom Marvel Legends Stealth Iron Man for your viewing pleasure. Not only does this Iron Man have a stellar paint ap, but it is chock-a-block full of custom details and weapons! I am not sure if everyone reading this knows where the phrase 'the whole nine yards' comes from but back in World War 2 it referred to using up an entire aircraft machine-gun ammunition belt, which was nine yards (27 feet) in length. I would classify this Iron Man as going the whole nine because if you can see the photo above, it looks like this Iron Man is packing heat with a gun that can do some serious damage. This is one of the most detailed Iron Man's I have come across in a long time so head over to eBay and check out Michael Amore's Custom Marvel Legends Stealth Iron Man figure!
Throwing a little Sigma Six in the mix, Dead Man Customs has done a fantastic job paying homage to Tony Stark with his Custom Iron Man Sigma Six crossover figure. It is unique when a customizer can use parts from other toy lines to create the right look and feel. With the Sigma Six line from GI Joe, the figures were made using very hard lines and angles and I think that goes very well with the world of Iron Man and creates a nice canvas and medium to create one of a kind pieces. This Iron Man boasts an incredible 27 points of articulation and the faceplate on his helmet and chest were sculpted with Aves Fixit Sculpt. Also featured is a removable chest blast for when the fight needs to go to the next level. To view more photos, especially of the cool chest piece, head over to eBay and check out Custom Iron Man Sigma Six crossover figure.
Jin Saotome brings us a modernized version of Tony Stark's weapon of the future with his Custom Marvel Legends Stealth Iron Man figure. What is great about this figure is that it is not seen in any comic and this is Jin's interpretation of how this suit would be modernized. The way this was painted really makes the plastic look like metal and this is a great effect that shows off the detail of the figure.
"This auction is for a 6” tall Stealth Armor Iron Man with glossy metallic finish. He has 22 points of articulation and can be put in to all sorts of stealthly mission poses. He’s scaled to fit right along with your Marvel Legends figures and will look great in your display case alongside your existing figures. This variation on the Stealth Armor design isn't featured in any comic and is a new 'modernized' version of the suit. A couple of reqests for a new Stealth Iron Man were sent my way and I always aim to please. This Stealth Iron Man has been painted with all sorts of glossy metallic details, deep armor shading, brlliant highlights, and a sealed surface against wear. I'm really, really, really liking the new Heroes Reborn Iron Man body as it has an excellent range of articulation and looks great in any pose!"

Crefigz puts his signature airbrushing techniques to great use with his Custom Iron Monger Marvel Legends figure. Breathing life into the plastic, he once again has chosen the perfect figure and makes it shine like metal. Take a closer look at the detail that he pours into every figure he makes:
This is one of the best looking paint aps I have seen on an Iron Monger figure and it looks like the movie version has burst through the tv and into your collection. NTT gets back to classic roots with his Custom Classic Iron Man figure. Taking on the look as Iron Man appeared in the comics, NTT does an excellent job with this rendition. The blackwashing is a technique that I really like and it goes well with this figure, bringing out every detail. NTT describes a little more about his creation:
"This figure stands 7 inches tall and features multiple points of articulation (including pivot/swivel head, arms, elbows/wrists, legs and knees). Parts of this custom was sculpted with Aves apoxie (very durable) and completely hand painted in acrylics. It was designed to have a statue quality, but also have great figure articulation. Fans of the classic style can enjoy the original look done with attention to detail. This custom figure was made to take on lots of action poses and can be handled without damage by an adult collector. It also has the hole at the back to fasten any Marvel Legends base stand for in-flight poses!"

Many of the Ironman customs I see are based off of the 2008 Ironman Movie but Michael Amore chose to go the classic route with his Custom Marvel Legends Ironman done in the 1990's body armor style. Michael is an excellent sculptor, and it shows with this Ironman. The eyes and mouth really set the tone for the figure and are just the right size and shape but if there were any variations to the facial features, that would give Ironman a very different look. The armor is nicely proportioned The figure has a nice gloss to it, as if it was real armor. The paint aps mirror the look of the comic and the yellows and reds are spot on, which also blend nicely with the articulation points in the figure. The leg articulation flows nicely from upper thigh to lower leg and the biceps into the shoulders meld nicely. This Ironman is an all around great figure and would make a very nice addition to anyone's Ironman collection, especially for you completest's out there you need every version ever made!
If you want to bid on this classic version of Ironman, head over to eBay and bid on Michael Amore's Custom Marvel Legends Ironman figure.
Jin Saotome is heating up the Iron Man custom section with his Custom Marvel Legends Iron Monger figure. The cool thing about this custom is that Jin has given this figure the look of brushed steel and has a light up chest but I will let Jin take it away from here:
"Monger has been decked out in a shiny metallic paint job with just a hint of blue shading and great highlights that give the look of real brushed steel! He has full articulation in the legs as well, not static posed like the first Iron Monger figure. Ready for the kicker? Open up the cockpit and flip the hidden switch, Iron Monger’s eyes and chest light up just like the onscreen character! Please don’t stare directly into the chest light, it’s so bright you can use this guy as a flashlight in case of an emergency. The batteries can also be replaced if needed."

Complete with sound and blasters fire, Central Cali Customs (C3) brings this Custom Stealth Iron Man Marvel Legends figure to life. Like will all customs from C3, he pours his heart, soul, and talent into his works of art. I like the way the paint aps make this figure look like it is metallic. The helmet is also removable, which makes a really nice feature. Under the mask, the facial tone is a nice flesh color. This custom also has an interesting story, which I will let C3 describe in detail:

I would highly recommend that everyone head over to eBay and check out CREG's Custom Marvel Legends Tony Stark figure.
Creativity and skill is at the heart of yabemc's Custom Iron Man War Machine Sigma Six Crossover figure. It takes talent to transform a Sigma Six Zartan figure into a work of art with a custom head made from scratch. I happened upon this awesome custom trolling through eBay's completed listings but the really cool part is how much this custom went for! If you are curious, head over to the auction and see for yourself!
The Iron Man customs are heating up on eBay and their is very good reason! Typically, there is a surge of character specific customs that land on eBay before and after the launch of a killer movie. The 2007 Transformers Movie and the 2008 Iron Man movies have given customizers a great canvas to demonstrate their creativity. That said, I would like to focus attention to a really cool cross over figure done by Jin Saotome. Jin has created a hybrid Marvel Legends Sigma Six Iron Man that looks like it could belong in both worlds of Marvel and GI Joe. This Iron Man figure has retained the unique style of the Sigma Six GI Joe line and has married the aspects that make Iron Man a force to recon with. The colors really compliment figure and you can clearly identify this as an Iron Man figure and the black washing really brings out the detail. This blend of worlds has really come together into a great looking figure and boy is this auction hot! To read more about this awesome custom, head over to Jin's auction and see how red hot this figure is getting!

Central Cali Customs has outdone themselves with his Custom Marvel Legends Stealth Iron Man figure. This Sideshow'esque figure is comes packed with articulation and a custom base that looks like Iron Man has unleashed hell on it. Central Cali Customs explains more about how he made this work of art:
- Researching, the best suitable Action Figure to transform. For example: According to Cable's bio, he is 6ft 8in and 350 lbs. So, I would not use a HULK’s body because he is 1,000 lbs.
- Once you find all parts, then you Assemble and Sculpt
- This part is very fun……I used Apoxie Sculpt for a strong finish.
- Prime the whole body.
- Paint major parts with correct color accordingly. I do multiple paint 3 to 4 times. I used Testors Model Master Acrylic Flat (unless it's an armor steel character) color paints. These paints are non-toxic and lead free.
- Wash with darker color to imitate shadow (Where needed).
- Dry brush with lighter color to imitate highlights (Where needed).
- Then detailing such as lines, logos, etc.
- Last and not least, depending on what kind of finish I would like to achieve, I will coat my figure. If I want to get flat comics like finish, then I coat it with dullcoat. If I want to get armor stell finish, then I coat it with glossy coat.

I just wanted to give the Custom Marvel Legends enthusiasts a heads up that there are many awesome customs up for sale this week on eBay. Here are some great examples:
Custom Stealth Iron Man by Jin Saotome
Custom Brock Samson by kingokrap
Hitting theatres 5/28/2008 is the Ironman movie which I am sure will be a huge hit and preempting the movie release is Jin Saotome's version of Ironman in Custom Marvel Legends Style. Jin's Ironman is highly detailed with a finish you don't find on many customs. The figures is painted in a metallic style and really shines, giving the figure the illusion of being made of iron. The head is custom made perfectly proportioned. Another great feature of this custom is the rocket pack, which is originally found on the Classics Jetfire Transformers figure, which was painted great and washed with black detail. I wonder what Jin has in store for a Jetfire sans rocket pack...anyways...here is how he created this great looking figure:
"To celebrate the big screen event of our metallic hero I give you my version of Iron Man. He's been painted with metallic red and yellow (ignore the somewhat green tinge to my camera lighting) and has a high gloss shine. Different sections are blacklined to show depth and there's natural shading/highlights when the light hits him. His head is custom made and he has articulated fingers! There's no Iron Man like this one available and it's not one of the movie figures either, it’s a one-of-a-kind custom figure. Even though he's completely poseable I'd handle him gently as his armor has a high gloss shine to it and you'll want to avoid scratching it. Plug on the Stark MG720 rocket pack and he's ready to head across the globe, into space, or wherever the Avengers need him! The rocket pack also converts to combat mode by sliding the back sections that reveal two spring-loaded lasers cannons."
