Using Apoxie for an amazing sculpting job, NTT brings us his version of Morris Bench with his Custom Marvel Legends Hydroman figure. The water and typhoon effects are simply stunning! NTT did a fantastic job harnesses the look and feel and water in a plastic figure that stands 7.5 inches tall. The paint effects look very life like and the figure looks as if he is tossing water about from the hands all the way down to the legs. The white and blue play off each other very nicely and I even like the way the water is spreading up the chest for that added splashing effect.
Hear to tell us more about this awaesome figure is NTT himself:
"Messing with Hydro-man means getting a beat down with some major splash F/X! Combined with sculpt work and painted details, realistic typhoons and water spouts were created for the lower portion of his body. Painted in several layers for a smooth finish, a protective sealant has been applied to preserve the artwork. With multiple points of articulation for some really awesome action-poses, figure also comes with two regular hands and two tsunami-sized fists along with an arsenal of water dragons are also included with this set!"
Lucky for you, this figure is still up for sale on eBay so head over there to see NTT's Custom Marvel Legends Hydroman figure.
Focusing on one of his favorite characters, Shinobitron creates his third iteration of this New Mutant with his Custom Marvel Legends Cannonball figure. The way that this figure was painted and detailed really makes the Cannonball come to life. The facial expression and the stare that is reflected in the eyes gives the figure human-like characteristics. The hair and the way it was sculpted and applied to the head make it look like it is flowing on his head. Coupled with the way his goggles sit atop his head give the figure a life like appeal. I am stickler for detail and Cannonball's jacket is my favorite part of this figure. The brown leather color feels very natural and the silver accents and buttons finish off the look. You will also notice that the clothing is painted in alternating blacks and blues in way that looks like the clothing is undulating from his body. Overall, this is a very well executed figure with all of the fits and finishes you can come to expect in a figure designed by one and only Shinobitron!
With the second installment of the Avengers in full force, Call-it Customs & Kollectibles has done a fantastic job translating Scarlett Johansson's movie appearance with this Custom Marvel Legends Avengers Age of Ultron Black Widow figure. From the knee-pads down to the ice blue outline around her body suit, this figure captures her on screen look and feel. The figure also comes with interchangeable hands as well as batons and guns to change of up the look if you are so inclined.
Lucky I saw this when I did...only a couple hours left to nab Toyphilia's Custom Marvel Legends American Eagle figure. What Toyphilia excels at is creating customs that look like they were ripped from the pages of Marvel Comics. Since most toy companies focus on making popular figures or lines from movies, it is great when customizers fill in the gaps and make lesser known but amazing figures. Take his American Eagle, for example. He did a fantastic job sculpting the various parts needed to resemble the comic likeness of American Eagle, even down to the undulations in this tank top. Move quick on this one as there is not much time to grab Toyphilia's Custom Marvel Legends American Eagle figure.
When Shinobitron created this Custom Marvel Legends S.H.I.E.L.D figure montage, he definitely had versatility in mind. With 4 sets of heads, you can transform this figure into 4 different types of characters: Captain America, Iron Man, Nick Fury and Dum Dum Duggan. The design works on all levels and the suit that was selected for the base of the figure compliments each character. The accessories also are a great fit!
This is a fantastic idea for a custom and what is even better is the back story around why this figure was created and how it fits into the Marvel Universe so I will let Shinobitron tell this one:
"With all the super villains popping up and threatening the safety of the world, Nick Fury needed a solution to combat their evil. Deciding to take the matter to Tony Stark, they came up with the idea to make a specific S.H.I.E.L.D. suit of armor that could adapt to each individual user and could represent "Truth, Justice and Liberty". Thus it became dubbed "The Patriot" Armor and a solid reminder to villains of just what the heroes using the suit were fighting for!
The Patriot Armor stands at just under 6.5" tall from the bottom of his armored boots to the top of his various heads. This figure features around 33 Points of Articulation. This figure comes with 4 heads ( Captain America, Nick Fury, Iron Man, and Dum Dum Duggan), 2 sets of hands, a Shield, a clear Axe/Shield, wrist launcher, a strand of bullets, a double arm chain gun, and an arm laser gun. This Armor has been carefully sculpted and intricately detailed to show off the complexity of the design! There is not another like it!"

Textureme has an amazing Custom Marvel Legends Deadpool 6" figure up this week on the the Bay! This custom blows me away for a few reasons. First, the paint app is silky smooth and the colors compliment each other nicely. The red that was selected for the figure matches perfectly and the blacks and browns work off one another. Looking at the finer details, you might notice Deadpool branded weapons, especially on the bat. This makes for a very unique custom and given the weapon set, it is cool to have a ton of assault paraphernalia with your calling card on it. Not only is this figure's paint app well executed, Deadpool comes chockablock with weapons and two alternate head sculpts.
There are literally 1000's of combinations to display this figure so if you are into versatility then this figure is for you! Go check out Textureme's Custom Marvel Legends Deadpool 6" figure now!
With the Star Wars Black 6" series, the Marvel Universe and the icons from a Galaxy far far away were destined to collide. Fanboy Toys' Custom Marvel Legends Boba Fett Deadpool crossover figure is a thing of beauty! The two concepts gel together and play off of each so well. For example, the classic Deadpool eyes are integrated into Boba Fett's helmet in a way that is so natural. You will also notice a Deadpool belt buckle instead of a Mandalorian symbol. The color of the armor is just right and the addition of soft goods and sculpted holsters takes this figure to another level.
The brown soft cape, the belt, and the holsters compliment the armor and give the figure a classic look. It is this attention to detail that really blows me away. If you look closely at the holster, you can see very small stitching, which gives the piece a very realistic feel.
Other really cool aspects of the figure center around the weaponry and jet pack. I also think I see a Rubik's cube on the back of the figure, which I assume is there for when Boba needs a break from his Bounty Hunter escapades or when he is plotting his next mission.
This figure is on the top of my list for the most coolest, well designed figures I have seen in 2015 and to make this your own, head over to eBay and place a bid on Fanboy Toys' Custom Marvel Legends Boba Fett Deadpool crossover figure.
Following the same fate as Peter Parker, Cindy Moon was bitten by the same spider while attending a public exhibition demonstrating the safe handling of nuclear laboratory waste materials. I wish my school took us to a nuclear lab for field trip but alas I digress! As Cindy Moon exclaims, "When I'm like this, call me -- Silk!" and Babcsan has captured the essence of this Marvel Comics character with his Custom Marvel Legends Silk figure. Completely hand painted, Babcsan does an amazing job keeping the art and costume detail symmetrical and accurate to the comic representation, even down to the gray accents on the boots!
One aspect I love about Jin Saotome's customs is that he is always thinking about poseability and making his customs as versatile and unique as possible, which brings me to his Custom Marvel Legends Symbiote Spider Man figure. As Wikipedia describes, "The Symbiotes (originally known as the Klyntar) are a fictional race of amorphous extraterrestrial parasites which appear in the Marvel Comics shared universe. The Symbiotes envelop their hosts like costumes, creating a symbiotic bond through which the host's mind can be influenced. This transformation is just what Jin has created with this highly detailed figure. Here to tell you more about this great figure is Jin himself:
"This week I bring you the stealthy Symbiote Spider-Man straight off the comic pages! Spider-Man has been meticulously hand painted with detailed brushwork, airbrushed highlights/shadows/color gradients, and other effects. All joint holes have also been filled and sculpted over for a more smoother appearance. The entire figure has been sealed with a combination of matte, satin, and gloss varnish depending on the surface. Pose Spider-Man in any martial arts pose you want and he'll look incredible doing so. You get an extra pair of fists and a special alternate 'transformation' Peter Parker head!"
The transforming Peter Parker head is my favorite part of this figure. You can see it consuming his head and I love that the eyes are pretty much all you see on his face. I wonder what Peter is thinking right at this moment? Go check out Jin's Custom Marvel Legends Symbiote Spider Man figure over on eBay!
Straight from the Comics with a touch of movie style to him, Kimota's Workshop brings us his latest creation with his Custom Marvel Legends Thor figure in Destroyer Armor. A cutomizer can look at several parts of various different figures and combine them to look like they would naturally fit together. That is the quality I admire most, which is the ability to take action figure fodder and make a figure that has a cohesive style. Kimota has done just this! The armor that Kimota has designed for his Marvel Legends style figure resembles the armor seen on the front page of the Thor Comic #381 but he added some spiked detail and some chest armor and make the look more modern. Here is more about how this custom was created from Kimota himself:
"Thor was handcrated using parts from several different action figures. Once assembled, sections were sculpted to him to make the look more authentic and to give you the detail you deserve to display on your shelf. He was primed using Citadel primer, and hand painted using Citadel, Tamiya, Formula P3, Model Masters, and other paints. Some areas are glossy, metallic and some are flat. The colors are different shades of grays, blacks, metallics, and others. The armor is painted to look like real metal with wear and tear. A closer look will show that Thor has metallic red eyes and gold trim to on the armor. His belt buckle is sculpted with the “T” hammer shape to show who is wearing the armor. Thor wears the Destroyer helmet with modifications such as the feathered wings that are featured with his normal look. His cape is painted dark red with a black wash to highlight the details present in the sculpt. He comes with his hammer, Mjolinir, which is painted metallic silver with a black wash. This Thor is made to take down cosmic threats like Galactus. So a hammer and a battle suit aren’t enough. He also comes with the Cosmic Cube or Tesseract from the movies."
Check out this amazing custom Custom Marvel Legends Thor figure in Destroyer Armor on eBay or over at Kimota's Facebook page.
Thank goodness for customizer's like MikeMarvel as he has taken it upon himself to create this Custom Marvel Legends White Phoenix figure that Hasbro has since cancelled. Mike Marvel expresses his disappointment and opportunity nicely on FigureRealm:
"I think we were all pretty disappointed when Hasbro (yet again) cancelled all the variants this time in the Wolverine Marvel Legends line including the White Phoenix version of Jean Grey. I used a cast Jean Grey head and sanded it down and sculpted part of the hair. Hope base with hands from the fodder bin. She-Hulk lower legs. Wrapped up in a white primer and painted."
As you can see, the prototype is pictured below (courtesy of forums.marvelheroes.com). I actually love MikeMarvel's version as the gold coloring he used on the arms and legs is more muted and looks more timeless. Also, I love the way he outlined the phoenix on her chest. In addition, the way he sculpted and colored the hair is amazing as it looks very lifelike and flowing. The facial expression looks like she means business. The best part is that this figure is available for Buy it Now on eBay so head over there and snatch this one up before someone else does.
VampireSweetBlood has create a really cool hybrid figure based on the Steve Roger's version with his Custom Marvel Legends Hulk Captain America figure. The figures are blended very well with both aspects of the figure shining through. The classic styling of the Hulk's ripped pants as well as the transition of a white lab coat to the Captain America uniform on his right arm give a realistic transformation in the figure. Overall, this is a very cool figure to add to you collection!
Coming straight from the comics is Paint Customs' Doc Ock Custom Marvel Legends Scale figure. When I first took a look at this figure, I thought it had a ton of character. The way the face was painted and sculpted gives the figure a diabolical look and feel to him. The face is a cross between someone you meet in real life and the comic, which was well executed. You can even imagine what the eyes look like under the glasses. Other cool modifications include fully articulated grasping claws, which are totally cool! The claws are integrated so well into the back of the figure that they seamless come out to give the figure its classic look. The tentacles also have a unique style to them and I love that they are painted silver and green.
Taking 4th place in the World's Greatest Customizers Captain America contest is Happy Day Customs' Venom Captain America Custom Marvel Legends scale figure. Venom is a Symbiote, a sentient alien, with a gooey, almost liquid-like form that requires a host, usually human, to bond with for its survival, as with real world symbiotes, and to whom it endows enhanced powers. Inspired by some concept art, this figure embodies how Venom is taking over Captain America's body during a really cool transitional phase. I love the way Captain America's head is peaking through Venom's mouth and how the chest transitions almost completing the metamorphoses. To check out more up close and personal images, head over and check out this one of a kind Venom Captain America Custom Marvel Legends scale figure.
Bringing Shiro Yoshida straight from the comics and right into your living room is L/R Customs rendition of the former mutant X-Men character. This Custom Marvel Legends Sunfire figure. One of Sunfire's special powers is the ability to generate superheated plasma and it looks like this figure is doing just that. The fire effects that well up from his right hand give the figure that added depth and the fire effects that were painted on the figure look like the character in the comic. The face mask was well executed as well as the sculpting on the rest of the figure. All in all, an excellent version of Sunfire!
Back in April, I wrote a post about a fellow customizer's significant other Samantha and that the customizing community was raising money to help her fight cancer and that there will be special charity auctions running to help this cause. Check out this Custom Marvel Legends She Hulk figure as the paint app is awesome and it is customized to reflect the Think Pink effort Samantha with the pink breast cancer ribbon on the boots. 100% of the proceeds go to help Samantha beat breast cancer. You can also Donate money to her cancer fund here. Here is another figure that is up for sale as well this week:

Benefiting the GlobalGiving Oklahoma Tornado Relief Fund, Red Hand Customs has created this awesome looking Custom Marvel Legends Iceman Bobby Drake custom figure. Based on the Marvel Icons "Iceman" 4 book series, this figure shows a lot of detail in various places that makes this custom unique. For example, the hair is sculpted in a way that makes it look realistic and the frosting blends nicely with the overall look of the figure. A very cool way this custom was painted gives the flesh a frost bitten look and I love the way the ice has blended with the physical jacket the figure is wearing. To top it off, the figure is benefiting a great cause so go check out this Custom Marvel Legends Iceman Bobby Drake custom figure and place a bid to help out the victims of the Oklahoma Tornado!
PackRatStudios is kickin it ole West style with his Custom Marvel Legends Deadpool Unchained figure. Never in a million years would I guess Deadpool sporting a 10 gallon hat and spurs but he rocks them with the best of them. When PackRatStudios says that this figure is "packing" he is not kidding! Coming complete with an arsenal that will knock you socks off, he also comes with a Western dio and a unique carrying case. The ole West styling is not overdone as the outfit integrates nicely into the overall design of the figure. What is amazing about this figure is the versatility you have. With 3 different head sculpts, the plethora of weapons, and Western dio possibilities, there are countless ways to display this figure (ok...I did the math and there are 364 possible ways to display this figure)!
Here is PackRatStudios to tell you more about this unique Deadpool figure:
"DeadPool has been re-imagined back in the ol' West, and he comes packing! Litterally... and Figuratively Speaking. This DeadPool comes in a custom case and holds all of his accessories, extra portraits, and display base. The Case is an antique brief case, built from wood and has a leather handle! Deadpool comes loaded with accessories as you can see: Three Heads: a Bowen masked, Bowen Unmasked and a bandana mask combo. ALSO, another added acessory is a sweet neck bandana! Works for both bowen sculpts! All three heads are magnetic to the neck post, AND the Cowboy hat. That's right, no worries about the cowboy hat falling off, it just pops onto all three heads via magnetic powers!!! On to the arsenal! Deadpool comes with 2 regular six shooter pistols that fit into his holsters, two tomahawks (the Wild Wests version of Sai's!), Rifle, TWO Katanas (fit into sheaths!), Sheath too is magnetic! It sticks right on his back! Two MASSIVE Revolver Canons!, and lastly...just a coffin...nothing inside of it I dont think... Or is there!!! Coffin Mounted Mini Gun!!! This idea was taken from the Original (PROBABLY CAN't say its name) Spagetti Western. Coffin is scratch built out of real wood!Lastly, "DjeadPool" comes with a base/dio of a Old West Saloon! and bonus, SNAKE! for decor!"
There are so many more photos over on his auction page where you can check out the multiple heads and custom case for this Deadpool Unchained figure, or, as PackRatStudios calls him, "Djeadpool Unchained."
In a collaborative effort between FoxHunter and ToyMan Customs comes this highly detailed Custom Marvel Legends Cable figure. This figure has so many redeeming attributes it is hard to begin with just choosing one so let's start at a high level and work our way down. Overall, the paint app and sculpting on the figure are second to none. If you see a close up of the face, the texture effects makes it look like the figure has real skin. It is the texture that gives the figure a deeper dimension and this effect is present across the entire figure. For example, the way the hair is done gives a realistic looking appeal. The cloth that is draped across the shoulders also makes it look like there is real fabric on the figure. The metal effects on the cyborg arm and on the gun and ammo belt complete the overall look and feel that the customizers were going for. Overall, this is one of the best Custom Marvel Legends Cable figures I have seen in a long time!
It is great when customizers bring to life figures from the comics and Katosuki's Monarch Custom DC Universe figure is a great example. Looking at the comic and concept art, the figure looks like it came straight out of the pages. The blue, golds, and grays play nicely off of each other. I like the choice of the kama design as the texture on it adds some dimension to the design. I think this figure best represents this version of Monarch seen below. To bid on Katosuki's Monarch Custom DC Universe figure, head over to eBay!
If you are not familiar with this character from the DC Universe, here is more info on it:
"The original Monarch was a tyrant from a future dystopian Earth. He chose scientist Matthew Ryder for a time-traveling experiment that would change the latter into Waverider. Waverider, knowing Monarch was originally a hero that turns evil in 1991, goes back in time to that year to prevent Monarch from ever coming to power. Monarch follows Waverider, without his knowledge, to stop his plans. He hides his surveillance of Waverider until the latter makes physical contact with Captain Atom, and battles the Justice League. During the battle he kidnaps Dawn Granger and escapes, pursued by Hank Hall. Hall catches up just in time to see Monarch kill her. Without her calming influence, Hall rages out of control and beats Monarch to death. However, he discovers that Monarch is in fact the future version of himself" (comicvine)
The Joker marks his return to Gotham by assaulting the GCPD and recovering his preserved face and Horton's Heroes has captured the essence of this villain with this Custom Death of the Family Joker figure in Marvel Legends scale. What you will notice about the Joker from the comic is that the face looks like it is in terrible shape, which I guess what happens when you put your face back on. This figure and the way the head was sculpted recreates this look from the comic in stunning detail. In addition to the face looking like it came from the comic book, this figure also includes a real tool belt and tools, which adds to the realism of the figure. To check out more details of this Custom Death of the Family Joker figure, head over to eBay.
In anticipation of the upcoming Superman Man of Steel movie that hits theatres June 14th 2013, MattHancock has created this Custom Marvel Legends Scale Superman figure modeled after Henry Cavill, the lucky actor to play the Man of Steel! The one major change to Clark Kent's costume is the lizard'like appearance of the suit, which is replicated very nicely in this figure. Textured and hand sculpted, the suit displays a high degree of accuracy to the movie version. The smallest details can make or break a custom and Matt has even thought about the cloth cape as it folds into the shoulders as he replicated the way linen folds into the actual costume from the movie. He also added a very cool reflective base to show off this fine piece. To view more photos of MattHancock's Custom Marvel Legends Superman Man of Steel custom, head over to eBay!
Versatility is a great aspect to capture in a custom and Raybot's Custom Marvel Legends Toxin Eddie Brock figure is a great example. With three different ways to display the figure, it is like you are getting three customs in one! Having two swappable heads, you can mix and match looks depending on your mood. A removable tongue adds the third look to the figure. The construction of this figure is top notch as evidenced by the sculpting and the paint app that brings out depth and character to the figure. The way that the Eddie Brock head was made makes it look like the tongue is protruding from his chest, a very cool effect!
In classic X-Force style comes Jin Saotome's Custom Marvel Legends Havok figure. In styling circa 1990's, Jin has brought out the comic likeness with removable shockwave blasts accessories, which adds to figures display and character. The blasts that have the swirling debris is a very cool effect! Along with adding some one of a kind additions to the figure, the sculpting the paint app is flawless. I would expect nothing less from Jin as he is one of the best customers in the biz. To view more photos of Jin's Custom Marvel Legends Havok figure, head over to eBay!
Uncanny Avengers is a new team of Avengers that features a line-up of both classic Avengers and X-Men including Captain America, Havok, Rogue, the Scarlet Witch, Thor and Wolverine that came out in the comics in 2012. With half of the team up for sale this week, I will be featuring Raybot's entire line up starting with this beautiful Custom Marvel Legends Rogue figure. Featuring a full repaint, this Rogue figure's paint application is second to none! The costume design mirrors the Uncanny Avengers comic appearance and the facial and hair features are simply outstanding. The hair detail is very lifelike and the way it falls on her face makes her look angelic. The eyes under the hood bring the figure to life and complete the overall amazing look that Raybot was going for. To view more photos and to check out the Uncanny Avengers line up, head over to eBay and check out Raybot's Custom Marvel Legends Rogue figure.
I love when customers go out on thier own and just create figures they think should belong in movies or television. AC Customs, in his world, has made this cool Custom Dark Knight Rises Riddler figure. He calls the figure his "What if" version! Here is the story onhow this came about:
"I am determined to get more Dark Knight movies out of Chris Nolan! In the mean time here is my "What if..." version of The Riddler from the Nolan DK universe. I based him off of a very nice poster featuring Guy Pierce as Riddler."
I love the simplicity of this figure and, given the eccentric nature of Riddler's from the past, this figure could have taken a very different direction. I can totally see this figure fitting in with the Dark Knight Trilogy and any future movies Mr. Nolan has in mind. If AC Customs has his way, he could be planting the seeds of creativity for future Dark Knight movies to come! In the meantime, check out his cool looking Custom Dark Knight Rises Riddler figure.
Raybot Customs has a killer looking Custom Marvel Legends Captain America figure up for auction this week. The colors on this figure are amazing in both clarity and depth. Raybot makes excellent customs and he pours so much realistic detail in each figure. With the paint washes, oversprays, textures, and highlights, the detail really shines! One of my favorite parts of this custom are the scalloped chest, shoulders, and biceps, which gives the figure a cool look. Another great look of this custom is the way Captain America's shield hangs off his back. There are several more photos over at Rabot's item page for his Custom Marvel Legends Captain America figure so go check them out!
For those who have kids, Yo Gabba Gabba is probably in your child's mainstay of television programing. Either you love them or you hate them! The show was developed by two Southern California dads with no previous experience writing for television and shared a mutual disappointment in kids’ television shows. They both wanted to design a kids' show that was entertaining while featuring real artists and real performers so that is the skinny on Yo Gabba Gabba!
I have to hand it to Warhorse for his imagination for turning the characters of Yo Gabba Gabba into superheros with his Custom Marvel Legends Plex Toodee Plex Brobee Muno and Foofa figures. You can see by the photos above how Warhorse took the original characters and transformed them into the Marvel Legends Superhero figures you see above. Great work!
Raybot makes some killer customs and his Custom Marvel Legends Mystique figure is no exception. From head to toe, this figure was very well executed. Some of the aspects that set this apart from other customs is the use of flexible hair and a flexible costume to add to the realism. Along with a full repaint of realistic washes, oversprays, textures, and highlights, Mystique comes saddled with a rifle and two handguns. The blue used on the figure was spot on and the way the face was painted makes it look like she is alive. Well done Raybot!
Standing a gargantuan 18" tall is Raybot's Custom Marvel Legends Dr. Doom Doombot Sentry figure. The paint app on the figure highlights the fine lines and detail in the muscles and armor. The base silver color shines and the darker green and gold accents are in the right places. The lighter green on the boots almost look iridescent and the different angles in the photos makes the green look fluorescent and light green. Looking at the scale of the figure below, you can see how large it is compared to other, more normal, size figures. There are more photos of Raybot's Custom Marvel Legends Dr. Doom Doombot Sentry figure over on eBay so click over and them out!
Inspiration can come from many sources. Oftentimes, customizers are inspired to create figures that the toy companies have not created or (or will never make). Vernondo has created this Custom Static Shock Young Justice figure based on the new season of Young Justice. To read more about this figure, he provided a quick insight into his mind and how he came up with this figure:
"I am more of a Marvel guy when it comes to a lot of my customs, but there are still a few characters we never got to see in as action figure in the DC line. One of them had his own TV show and the most he was able to get was a Happy meal toy and a limited release as an older version in the JLU line. The new season on Young Justice inspired me to take on a few characters that we have not see in the show yet so I decided it was about time STATIC SHOCK got his due! Now is your chance to add this very “electric” character to your collection in 6 inch form!"
His appearance is more of a young adult with a killer electric styling. Vernondo's Custom Static Shock Young Justice figure is very well executed and would fit right in with your other DC Universe or Marvel Legends scale figures.
Loki, the adoptive brother and archenemy of Thor, is the pinnacle character in the Avengers movie and Big Hank's Electrifying Action Figures has taken the Walmart exclusive version of the figure and created a movie accurate villain with his Custom Marvel Legends Avengers Loki figure. Here is how he took the figure "off the shelf" and made it his own:
"Tom Hiddleston owned the whole Avengers movie, and I really wanted to capture the pale, sinister look he had. The WalMart Loki figure is awesome but there was a couple of things that needed attention. I sculpted his hair to be more screen accurate, and sculpted the Cosmic Spears's blade to be bigger than the woefully inadequate stock spear. I went ahead and added the blue light up gem into the spear while I was at it!"
I really like the more sinister and crazy look that Big Hank gave Loki as it captures his likeness as he appeared in the movie. Adding an LED into his cosmic spear was a fantastic addition. To place a bid on this great figure, head over to eBay and check out Big Hank's Custom Marvel Legends Avengers Loki figure.
With 100% of the proceeds going to Race for Life Cancer Research (UK) and Relay for Life (USA) charities, Loosecollector's Custom Marvel Legends Spartacus figure was created from the heart and it shows. Inspired by the moving story of the late Andy Whitfield, best known for his leading role in the Starz television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand during 2010, this figure is an homage to the late actor. The way this figure was crafted makes the plastic look like human skin, mirroring the tones and definition in the characters muscular body. To add to the realism, the accessories are contructed of wood (shield) and leather (belt and shoulder coverings). A rocky rubble base supports this great figure, which is as tall as a Masters of the Universe Classics figure. To bid on this figure for charity, head over to eBay and see how high you can go for a great cause for Loosecollector's Custom Marvel Legends Spartacus figure!
Sharon Carter, AKA Agent 13, had a few roles in the Marvel Universe. She is a secret agent in the Marvel Comics universe and an ex-field agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. under Nick Fury and occasionally the girlfriend of Captain America. K&L has brought this figure to life with his Custom Marvel Legends Sharon Carter figure. K&L customs specialized in more of the realistic, human looking figures and great attention to detail is paid to facial expression, eye coloring and shape, and hair sculpting, which really shows in this figure. The facial expression is engaging, which is paramount in making realistic figures. The costume design is executed flawlessly and really gives homage to the comic book likeness. More photos, and the ability to place a bid on this figure reside over at eBay so head over and check out K&L's Custom Marvel Legends Sharon Carter figure.
For those unfamiliar with this beast, Rintrah is an alien sorcerer in training who is studying under Dr. Strange, and Draubner has brought it out of the pages of the comics with his Custom Marvel Legends Rintrah figure. Using art as a reference for both color and design, this customizer has nailed the colors and the overall look and feel. Molding the plastic to look like hair, this figure carries a depth and dimension that brings the comic to another dimension.
"We will disperse into the galaxy in small numbers, masking ourselves, hiding amidst the enemy. We will infiltrate governments on every planet. All must be brought down for something new to be created. Together or alone, we will slip onto worlds and strike from the shadows. We will be invisible. We will be patient. All that exists will be torn apart from within. Darth Krayt's vision of the galaxy remade will be realized. He lives in us. The Sith will prevail."
―Darth Nihl (Star Wars: Legacy War 6)
- Katosuki has brought one of great Sith Lords to life with his Custom Star Wars Darth Nihl in Marvel Legends scale. Translating the concept art into plastic reality, this figure is a great blend of concept art from various imagery. I love the way the face was painted. The shoulder spikes molded to the armor bring out the comic like appearance of this Sith. If you collect Marvel Legends Star Wars figure, Katosuki's Custom Star Wars Darth Nihl in Marvel Legends scale figure is one to add to your collection!

I am a huge fan of crossovers and the blending of worlds that were not meant to be together. Imagining a world where Transformers and the Marvel universes collide, Frenzy.Rumble has created a one of a kind concept with his Custom Deadpool with a Transforming Exo-Suit. The Transforming mech suit that Deadpool controls is a machine of destruction that is ready for action. The Exo-Suit has a massive amount of articulation and a gaggle of weapons The suit sports two magnetically held guns on the backs of his forearms. I have been a fan of Jin's work for a very long time and there is good reason! He consistently knocks his customs out of the ballpark! His amazing Custom Marvel Legends Spiderman figure is packed full of articulation, where he can "look straight up, hunch, crouch, crawl, leap, akimbo, and pose just about any way you can imagine." That is more articulation than you can shake a stick at. I love the dark lines that compliment the red spider suit, highlighting fine details in the figure. There is also one more hidden surprise, which you will have to discover by clicking over to Jin's item page to check out his Custom Marvel Legends Spiderman figure.
Customizing in my favorite genera, Pack Rat Studios has reimagined a world where steam powers heroes and villains with his amazing Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Archangel figure. A work of art is an understatement when describing this figure! Staying true the Steampunk era theme and overall design, this figure possesses many qualities that make it a masterpiece. The bronze coloring and shading gives the armor, wings, and jet pack that classic feel we have come to know that encapsulates the Steampunk period. No detail was spared in creating this piece. From the mesh shoulder armor, which is very medieval, to the era defining rivets that adorn the wings and body armor, this is one of my favorite Steampunk figures to date. Taking a detailed look at the wing pack, you can see the use of gold playing off the bronze and really highlighting the intricacy of this figure. Pack Rat Studios has highly detailed photos on his auction page so head over and check out his Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Archangel figure and while you are there, place a bid to secure this timeless figure in your collection.
Apathy Ink has a very cool Custom Marvel Legends Doc Ock up for sale this week. A very cool pod like capsule enshrouds Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius. The metallic looking capsule is intricately designed and the way it was painted makes the plastic look like aluminum, with the striations that are found in these materials. One of my favorite parts of this custom is the way the head was constructed. The pock marked face looks eerily human and combined with the cyborg looking features, looks like something post apocalyptic. Relying on machinery to breathe and operate his limbs, this Custom Marvel Legends Doc Ock is ready to take on any foe!
Mephisto, sometimes using the name Mephistopheles or even Satan (among many others) is a powerful demonic super-villain from Marvel comics and is one of several such demons that feed off humanity's belief in the devil so as to masquerade as Satan himself (Source: Villains Wiki). Now that we got that out of the way, Jin Saotome, in larger than life scale, created this awesome Custom Build A Figure Scale Mephisto Marvel Legends figure. It takes patience to make customs as good as Jin's and it must have taken so much time to create the figures wild mane, which is made up of over 200 individual spines. The shading technique that was used creates depth in a figure that is essentially one color and brings out all of the detail that gives the figure that black soot'like feel. If you take a look at the photo, you can see just how massive and intimidating this figure really is. The hands are a fantastic scale and look great wrapped around Scarlet Spider.
Number 26 (yes, you read that right!) in the line up is Bischoff Inc's Custom Sub Zero Mortal Kombat 9 figure in Marvel Legends scale. I am very impressed with Bischoff's Mortal Kombat customs both for his technical ability and his dedication to the theme of trying to create the line one figure at a time. There are so many fine details in the armor of the figure. If you look close up, you will see the intricate detail in the bicep and forearm armor. I love the addition of the soft goods on the figure as it helps to break up the plastic feel and help give the figure depth. Combing the best of the animated world and continuing the Transformers story line, the Prime series continues to pump out great canvases for customizers. I have to tip my hat to Hasbro for making the Soundwave's alternate form a Drone as this is perfect mesh of today's technology while still keeping the original concept of Soundwave true. I am also tipping my hat to Jicco's Customs with his repainted and redesigned Custom Transformers Prime Soundwave figure. The smallest aspects of the custom can really change the look and feel of the figure. One of my favorite parts of this custom is the wave that is running across the face of the figure. That small jagged lime green line adds a ton of personality and brings the figure to life. I also really like the paint app technique as it gives the figure depth and makes it more interesting. To see more photos, head over to eBay and check out Jicco's Custom Transformers Prime Soundwave figure.
Twenty fifth in the line up, Bischoff Inc's Custom Marvel Legends Mortal Kombat Shang Tsung figure is a testament to his skill and dedication recreating the Mortal Kombat figure in living color! This customizer has the uncanny ability to recreate the on screen characters from the game in exquisite detail. From the colors to the costume, no aspect is left untouched and he has even gone as far as to build in the scalloped look to Shang Tsung's outfit. I hope Bischoff does not stop at this one and continues to make killer MK9 customs! If you have an idea for the next figure, post a comment here or on my AFC Facebook page!
One of the aspects that I really like about Jin Saotome's customs is the unique shading technique that brings out all of the fine detail in his customs. This Custom Marvel Legends Dr. Doom figure is a fantastic example of this effect as you can see all of the lines, rivets, and muscles on the figure. The base color on the Dr. Doom figure is silver and my hat goes off to Jin for his ability to make this figure look like metal with the paint app and the overall look and feel. Not only is Jin one of the greatest customizers out there, he also writes some pretty interesting descriptions for his figures:
"When you have a country to run, superheroes to harass, and diabolical plans to create, it usually spells Doom. That's right, this week I've brought you the Latverian ruler himself in his classic look. Victor has been hand-painted with deep shading, bright highlights, metallic weathering, realistic clothing effects, and amazingly intricate detail which will really make him stand out in your Marvel Legends collection. He has a real metal chain and cape clasps, removable energy arcs, and a brand new hooded head that's ball jointed separate from his cape. This Doom is ready to take on the Fantastic Four and anyone who stands in his way of world domination. So, know a Marvel fan that would love a unique figure for their collection? Have a nation that needs a tyrant? Then, don't pass this auction up!"
I agree! Don't pass Jin Saotome's Custom Marvel Legends Dr. Doom figure up!
There is not enough Star Wars to go around for my lifetime or any fan's lifetime I am sure of that! The movies are one thing but the story lines of the video games, books, and the television shows really bring the Star Wars universe to life. Customizers, like Katosuki, bring the on screen video game persona's to life and his latest Star Wars Old Republic Custom Marvel Legends Female Bounty Hunter is a testament to that. This figure is not in your typical 3 3/4" scale but a 6" figure more in keeping with the Marvel Legends scale figures. I provided a comparison shot in the photo above and as you can see, the figure that was created did a great job at capturing the overall look and feel of the figure while taking some liberties with the design - as customizers should! The Bounty Hunter definitely looks ready for action so if you want to check out more photos, head over to Katosuki's Star Wars Old Republic Custom Marvel Legends Female Bounty Hunter as he has some great shots of the figure!
What do you get when you cross a Marvel Legends Hulking with a House of M Hulk figure? You get a killer Custom Marvel Legends Strong Guy figure, who first appeared in the New Mutants comic way back in 1985. It takes a keen eye and a vision to take two totally disproportionate characters and fuse them together and, ultimately, in the end, come out with a much better figure that you began with. This figure works on so many levels. Knowing that Glennweb69 would need two figures of different proportions, he was able to find two Hulk figures and seamlessly combine them together to form Strong Guy to form the overly muscular upper body. Since the legs on the Hulking figure are so small, this effect is amplified when you look at the figure as whole. Finishing the figure off with a great paint app that incorporates an updated look and feel to the figure brings up to par with some of the great customs of 2012.
I remember playing Megaman as a kid and seeing this figure brings back many memories of spending hours in front of the tube (when TV's came with tubes). Jin Saotome has made a modern looking Custom Marvel Legends Megaman figure that is both versatile in display and angelic in appearance. The face of the figure is one my favorite aspects as the eyes and porcelain like features make this figure come alive. A completely new design, this Megaman is reimagined and from the blood, sweat, and tears of Jin and his artistic mind. I love the accessories that were made for the figure as they capture the classic nature of the Megaman. The metallic paint sheens of the figure is so well applied that the plastic ends up looking like armor. There are more photos of Jin's Custom Marvel Legends Megaman figure over on eBay so head over and take peak!
Hot off the just released Batman: Arkham City video game comes FitzJedi's Custom Marvel Legends Arkham City Catwoman figure. In the game, Two-Face has kidnapped Catwomen and plots to publicly try and execute her in a plot to gain control over Arkham City (an abandoned Gotham suburb that has been made into a prison following the destruction of Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison) forcing Batman to enter the city to save her.
FitzJedi has done an excellent job translating the video game character into a 3 dimensional action figure. The eyes on the figure are well done and give the character life. They also match the in-game shadowing of the eyes. To view more photos of this Custom Marvel Legends Arkham City Catwoman figure, head over to eBay!
