ActionFigureCustoms is your one-stop resource for finding custom action figures from toy lines such as Transformers, Star Wars, GI Joe, Marvel Legends, Lego (the list goes on...). Come explore and find toys that the toy companies were afraid to make.
Below is a list of custom action figures currently available for sale on eBay!
More than meets the eye is one way to describe Boggs6ft7’s Custom GI Joe Transformers Crossover Toss N Cross figure. As I was scrolling through the Custom GI Joe section of my site, I saw this GI Joe vehicle and thought to myself that someone must have repainted the old 80’s GI Joe Bridgelayer but upon closer inspection, I discovered something cool! Boggs6ft7 has taken the Transformers Universe Dropshot figure and used it as the base for this Toss n Cross custom. How cool is that! So not only do you get a killer homage to a cool GI Joe vehicle but you get the added ability of the vehicle to transform. What a great way to combine two legendary toy lines. Well done!
Army of Two Elliot Salem and Tyson Rios Custom 3 3/4" Figures
Army of Two is a third person shooter video game developed by Electronic Arts, released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, focusing on two mercenaries fighting through war, political turmoil, and a conspiracy from 1993 to 2009. Jin Saotome has done a fantastic job translating the characters that appear in the game into 3 3/4″ (1:18) scale figures with his Custom Army of Two Rios and Salem figures. I am not sure if this is a coincidence or not but the figures from the game fit perfectly in the GI Joe Rise of Cobra line. The figures are made with such detail and depth that it is hard to tell they are only 3 3/4″ tall. They also look like they are plucked right from the game. To place a bid and view more photos of Jin’s Custom Army of Two Rios and Salem figures, head over to eBay!
Lance858a has one of the best custom GI Joe figures I have seen in a long time with his Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Zarana figure. Paying homage to the classic style of the figure that came out in 1986, Lance858a has paid attention to the smallest of details. Lets hear more about those details from the source:
“Notice the careful attention to detail such as the working knife holster, the sculpted torn jeans, the knee pads, the custom pointy boots, the gloves, the torn shirt, all of which match the vintage 1980’s character and figure 100%. She is a must have for any loving GI Joe collector.”
One of the things that stands out about this custom are those minute details that complete this figure. For example, the knee pads are sculpted in a way that resembles the classic figure and I like the addition of the removable dagger. To see more photos of Lance858a’s Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Zarana figure, head over to eBay!
AFC: Tell the fans of your work a little about yourself.
Lance858a: I’m a product of the 1980’s for sure; I believe in greed and capitalism. I wish we could clone Ronald Reagan and elect him Emperor for life . . . with me as Secretary of Money & Power.
The 80’s was the best time to be a kid. You had such wonderful toys and cartoons such as Robotech, Transformers, Smurfs, etc. GI Joes will always be on top of my list of greatest things ever. These toys were great because they required loads of imagination. When playing with GI Joes, blankets on the ground became hills and caves, the area under the dining table became a giant redwood forest (until your parents tell you to get out from under there and stop trying to look up your cousin’s skirt), and a back yard dirt pit became a miniature Grand Canyon.
Today, my childhood religious devotion to greed and capitalism steered my life and career towards business. I’m proud of my career and hope to continue long into the future but I found my professional work lacking in artistic creativity.
I’ve always been able to draw and paint well. As a young adult, I turned to business after discovering how difficult it is to make the kind of living I wanted to make as an artist. I chose money over happiness; I stand by my decision despite my soul crushing job and complete lack of money, jk.
I stumbled onto customizing GI Joes after years of unknowingly suffering from the lack of an artistic creative outlet. I guess it was one of those moments of realizing what has been missing in your life all along. The satisfaction I now get from customizing some of my favorite childhood characters and making them my very own is like finally finding a bathroom after holding it for days and you just had a giant breakfast burrito, it puts a smile on my face.
Lance858a: It all started about a year ago when I stumbled onto a GI Joe 25th Anniversary DVD pack while walking through the toy section on my way out of a department store. I caught a glimpse of Lady Jaye in the corner of my eye. Upon closer examination while drooling, I verified that it was in fact the original Lady Jaye from the 1980’s cartoon series! The sight of this figure sparked that funny feeling I got in my pants when I was a kid and I jumped on the DVD pack like a hobo on a ham sandwich.
AFC: How did you get started making customs?
After finding more GI Joe 25th Anniversary figures online, I realized that I hated the way some of the faces looked. The Baroness looked like a raccoon on crack, Scarlett looked like a dude smoking the raccoon on crack, and Falcon looked constipated. Don’t get me wrong, I think Hasbro has done a fantastic job bringing back our favorite toys. I just wanted these characters to look like I remembered them. After looking up images of the actual vintage toys from the 80’s, I then discovered that the way I remembered them was nothing like the way they actually looked (the vintage 1980’s figures actually looked horribly deformed, imagine an Ewok with human limbs, or Danny Devito).
At that point, I cursed Hasbro for whacking my beloved Baroness and Scarlett with an ugly tree branch. Apparently, they still can’t seem to get it right as all the Rise of Cobra female figures look like dudes, and not the sexy dudes either, while all the dude characters looked exactly like the actors who portrayed them. Dear Hasbro, you can’t get some of the most beautiful actress’s faces right, but you gave us exact replicas of the douche bag actors’ faces. No thanks.
So I started making my own Baroness, Scarlett, and Lady Jaye faces and discovered that I could do so much more than just faces. That’s when I combined my two childhood interests together, GI Joes, and WWII. I have no idea why I was so interested in WWII as a child, perhaps I’m a closet megalomaniac. My first WWII Inspired custom was the Scarlett featured on this website. I have abandoned her on ebay where she sold very well. All of a sudden, everything came together, my need for an artistic creative outlet, my love for GI Joes, my interest in WWII, and most of all, my loving devotion to greed and capitalism. I now customize for the love of it and periodically sell my customs on ebay just to make room for new projects and cost recovery. Selling customs hasn’t made me a millionaire, but I can proudly boast of being a thousandaire, FINALLY!
AFC: How many customs do you work on at one time?
Lance858a: Up to 5. You have to work on more than one at a time b/c these things need time for paint or sculpt to dry. You paint one, set it down, and paint another. The only draw back is, your interest in one figure may wane before you complete it. My WWII inspired Zartan has been without legs for over 5 months. The poor guy needs legs but, what’r’ya gonna do?
AFC: What customs you are most proud of?
Lance858a: Tough choice, I love all my customs but if I had to choose one that represents who I am, it would be my WWII Inspired Flint who was inspired by Band of Brothers, 101st Airborne. This figure comes completed with hand painted Screaming Eagles unit badge. Flint is my favorite character:
AFC: What is your favorite toy line to do customs for?
Lance858a: The only customs I’ve ever done were on GI Joes.
AFC: What customs do you have lined up for future projects?
Lance858a: WWII Zartan, Zarana are in progress. WWII Normandy Invasion Duke and a new version of WWII Baroness. Other than that, I have no idea. Perhaps I will complete an entire WWII squad of Easy Company to go along with Flint.
AFC: If you had one piece of advice for other customizers out there, what would you say to them?
Lance858a: Don’t do WWII customs better than mine or else I will come after you and open an entire 12-pack of whoop-ass. That’s my advice to you! Jk. I’d actually be extremity happy if my work inspires others. My real advice is marry a rich girl so you can spend all day playing with toys.
Also, for beginner customizers, try starting small, do a simple repaint or swap body parts. Do small projects, do them well, and learn as you go before getting into more ambitious projects. You don’t want to spend a lot of money and try to tackle a huge project and get discouraged b/c you suck at it b/c it’s beyond your skill level. Most of all, try not to listen to too much criticism. Criticism is inevitable, and as an artist, expect to receive plenty of it. Hopefully, there will be 10 accolades to every piece of criticism.
Hisstank.com has excellent forums about how to do the basics in customizing GI Joes. I am a member of that website and often post threads of my work or threads for discussion of my random diatribes.
Aside from the Micky Mouse Cobra Commander Figure that came out in the early releases of the GI Joe figures, the Cobra Viper Glider Pilot is another one of the quest for the holy grail figures that collectors pay top dollar for. Lucky for you, Jharris229 has a Custom Cobra Viper Glider Glider Pilot and Glider up for sale and you would be hard pressed to tell that this is a custom as it looks so much like the original. The bummer about the Viper Glider Pilots from the 1980’s is that most of the symbols have rubbed off but Jharris229 has a mint symbol on this puppy that is not a sticker! There is less than 8 hours to go on this figure and glider so head over to eBay if you want to get a chance to own this piece of GI Joe history.
Scarlett Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary World War 2 Figure
Besides finding killer customs to write about and feature everyday, another hobby of mine is learning all that I can about the brave soldiers who fought in World War 2. Lance858a has combined both of my hobbies into one great figure with his Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Scarlett figure in World War 2 style garb. From the hat, the colors, and the chevrons on the arm, a lot of thought was put into this figure to make it more of a period piece. The hat is removable, which adds to the look and poseability of the figure. If you want to check out more photos of Lance858a’s Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Scarlett figure, head over to eBay. There you will find links to his profile on Hisstank and a great story about his love for GI Joe’s.
FrogDNA has made some really great enhancements to the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line with his chrome work and detailed shading with his Custom Crimson Guard figure. Striving to retain the classic nature of the cartoon, FrogDNA has used his stills to apply chrome and accents in all of the right places. Let’s read more about how he achieved this look:
For this Crimson Guard I used Palisades’statue and the artwork from the blister as reference to bring to life this classic figure. There’s some airbrushed shading on his uniform and backpack, glossy paints on his helmet, boots and leather parts of his uniform and matt paints where was needed, to enhance the realistic look. You can actually see some reflections on his helmet! The gloss/matt effect is enhanced by several layers of clear coat, glossy and opaque as well.
FrogDNA has this figure and others so be sure to check out his auctions over at eBay!
Hit and Run is another classic GI Joe figure worthy of replicating in 6″ scale and Starbuck_bg1980 has done just this with his Custom Marvel Legends Hit and Run figure. This is a great looking figure with a ton of removable accessories. One aspect of this figure that I like is that the camouflage on the figure is very well done and blends nicely with the face, which is how the classic figure from 1980’s was done. I like that the colors are more military on this one as opposed to the brighter green used with the original Hit and Run figure. To buy this item now, head over to eBay and check out this Custom Marvel Legends Hit and Run figure.
Growing up watching the 80’s GI Joe, we were exposed to some of the coolest Cobra weapons and ZartanMan has made some much needed additions to the Cobra arsenal with his Custom Mass Device that lights up. Seeing the need to bulk this weapon up, he added treads from the HISS tank and painstakingly detailed it to be as cartoon accurate as possible. There are lights in the beam emitter and in each of the MASS element containers. Brilliant job!
GI Joe fans will remember from the 1980’s cartoon that when sunlight hit Zartan, he would turn as blue as a Smurf and Dutnam has captured this aspect of his chameleon character with his Custom 25th Anniversary Zartan figure, which you can find on eBay right now!
With all of the money in the world, Cobra Commander is taking things into his own hands and has contracted the talent of Jin Saotome to build him a suit of armor capable of opening a can of whoop ass on GI Joe. This Custom Cobra Commander in GI Joe Armor is an excellent figure and very well executed. I love the Gatling Gun on the right arm and the interchangeable claw…very cool! Let’s read more and see how Jin describes this figure:
“You’ve never seen Cobra Commander like this before, he’s upgraded his battle armor to something bigger and better! This Combat Armor suit with multiple attaching parts and can be posed in all sorts of battling positions. He’s been painted to match your existing custom 25th Anniversary Joes and features plenty of shading, rich colors, and awesome detail. Attach the grappling claw or blast away with the chain cannon. Either way the Joes will be in for the fight of their life here!”
Being a military history aficionado, I was excited to see Build-A-Rama’s Custom Desert Hiss Tank resemble a North Africa campaign style vehicle. First, the paint scheme and weathering on this Hiss Tank makes this piece feel like a period piece from the 1940’s. I love the converted turret of the old Hiss Tank to a Trubble Bubble platform, which is a great concept! Overall, this vehicle is very well executed and would fit very well in your 1980’s or current GI Joe collection. If you want to view more photos of Build-A-Rama’s Custom Desert Hiss Tank, head over to eBay!
Zartan was one of my favorite characters from the GI Joe series back in the 1980’s and I am happy to see that ZartanMan has created this Custom GI Joe Resolute Zartan figure. This figure is a kitbash of a few figures, including the GI Joe Rise of Cobra Flash, Resolute Duke legs, and a Zartan Head from the GI Joe 25th Anniversary collection. This figure will fit in with all of the your other GI Joe Resolute figures so head over to eBay and check out more photos of ZartanMan’s Custom GI Joe Resolute Zartan figure.
Although I did like the GI Joe Rise of Cobra movie, there was one aspect I felt was missing and it was the spirit of the 1980’s figures and GDX has captured that feeling with his Custom GI Joe Rise of Cobra Shock Trooper figure. Inspired by what a Cobra Blue Shirt would like, this Shock Trooper is an amalgamation of several figures but I like it because it reminds me of the older figures.
In honor of the GI Joe movie, SpawnSauce Customs has created this Custom Marvel Legends Hooded Cobra Commander figure. I have never seen Cobra Commander don a trench coat before (aside from the movie, of course), but I really like how this looks with the Hooded version of Cobra Commander. There are a couple aspects of this custom that I really like. First, the way the hood was made to look like it was flowing. Second, the lapel of the trench coat looks as if it was designed with a King Cobra snake in mind as it flares out and the detailing on it looks like it. To view more photos and to place a bid on SpawnSauce’s Custom Marvel Legends Hooded Cobra Commander figure, head over to eBay!
I had the lucky opportunity to attend a preview showing of GI Joe The Rise of Cobra last night and I was say I was very impressed with the movie. Not to give anything away, I thought Snake Eyes was a bad ass who can hold his own anywhere and with anyone. That said, 2dtoys has paid homage to this legend with Custom Marvel Legends Snake Eyes figure. I love the detailing on this figure as it brings out the contours with the shading and painting techniques, which is hard to accomplish on a black figure. Here are more details about this figure from 2dtoys himself:
“Snake Eyes is made in the Marvel Legends style, standing around 6 inches tall with 38 points of articulation. He comes with his pet wolf Timber, his trademark Uzi, a removable knife and handgun, and a custom made sword. His costume was meticulously recreated to make the most unique Snake Eyes custom I could. He’s definitely my favorite Joe custom and one of my most sought after pieces.”
ContradictionWear Customs has brought one of the most treacherous villains to life with his Custom Scratch Built Hooded Cobra Commander bust. It takes great skill and talent to replicate human features from scratch. For example, the eyes on this bust are amazing and really bring the figure to life. There are subtle features of this custom that make this great! For example, if you look closely, you can see a raised eye brow. ContraditionWear Custom has scratch built other busts such as Deadpool, Wolverine, and Venom, which you can check out by heading over to eBay and viewing his Custom Scratch Built Hooded Cobra Commander bust.
Quantum-7 customs is adding a Fire Department to the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line with his Custom Inferno Brigade figures. I love the concept of the figures and here to give you the back story about them is Quantum-7 himself:
After designing the fire proof armor that Barbecue wears to protect him from fire, CINDER was asked to lead his own specialized unit called the INFERNO BRIGADE. The team, consisting of, BLOW OUT who mans the Flame Retardant delivery system and BREAK-THROUGH who specializes in demolitions. They work side by side with the Joes to help protect our world in the fight against the evils of Cobra Commander and his henchmen. Together they make up the specialized team: INFERNO BRIGADE!!!
Back home in Ireland , Eoin McPatrick ( code name: CINDER ) was a volunteer fire fighter for 12 years. In those 12 years he lost two of his brotherens to the flames. Compelled to design a fire resistant suit for his fire fighter brothers to wear he studied for many years the dynamics of fire. He intensely studied the characteristics of it but how and why it behaves like a living organism, which materials it can consume and which ones it can’t. He was determined to stop anymore fires from claiming more of his friends lives. After several years of hard work and experiments he had a breakthrough….he designed a suit that was completly fire proof and protected the wearer from any ill effects from the heat and smoke fire produces. It went into immediate use and on its first day it saved a fellow fire fighters life….Eoin was hailed a hero and even the Mayor gave him recognition. It wasn’t very many days later that General Hawk contacted him and requested that he design a newer, better, more manuverable suit for a top secret American Team called: GI JOE. Eoin accepted and within 2 months he had designed a better version of his fire proof suit. After succeeding they asked him to join the GI JOE team. They offererd him the Captain’s position in his own fire unit. They would be called the……. INFERNO BRIGADE!!!

Saadtoys picks up where the 25th Anniversary line leaves off with his Custom GI Joe Cover Girl figure. This figure brings back so many memories as I had her plow through Cobra’s army with a barrage of missiles. This figure would make an excellent addition to your GI Joe 25th Anniversary figure collection!
If I was to dream of a better Serpentor, I would envision 2dtoys’ version with this Custom Marvel Legends GI Joe Serpentor figure. I absolutely love this figure! The colors are dead on and the scalloped look that 2dtoys was able to give this figure is how he appeared in the cartoon. The snakes coming out of the figure give it a great effect and a cool look. The sculpting is awesome and everything is symmetrical. This is the best Serpentor figure I have seen to date so head over to eBay and check out this great Custom Marvel Legends GI Joe Serpentor figure.
Straight from the sewers and hazardous waste plant comes Ratfink’s Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Bio Viper figure. This is an excellent use of the Cobra Air Trooper mould, which I was not a fan of Ratfink’s figure is one that I would purchase if I saw it on the shelf. The helmet makes it look like he could go to the depths of the earth to root out GI Joe in the worst of conditions. The stand is also custom made, which makes a great display piece. To beef up your Cobra Army, head over to eBay and bid on Ratfink’s Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Bio Viper figure.
How would you like to meet this ominous figure in a dark alley? Jin Saotome has developed the perfect killing machine in his Custom Cobra Banshee GI Joe 25th Anniversary figure. This thing looks vicious! To me, this looks like a cross between General Grievous (notice the legs) and a Battle Android alien machine. Let’s get more background on this unique figure from Jin himself:
“The Joes are really in for a fight now. Enter the Cobra Banshee, the deadliest thing to come out of M.A.R.S. industries yet. This mechanical terror is full of glossy armor detail, metallic shading effects, and more sensor-eyes than Snake Eyes can shake a katana at. Swap out the Banshee’s clawed hands with the laser blades and it’s ready to slice it’s way through anything, or anyone that gets in its path. The Banshee is also super articulated with balls joints that give it an incredible range of movement. The back spines can be put in closed or open positions and you have to check out the multi-sensored head!”
Amishonline adds another Dreadnok to the Cobra arsenal with his Custom Dreadnok Gnawgahyde GI Joe 25th Anniversary figure. This figure brings out the classic 80’s version in an updated look and feel that will fit right in with your other 25th Joes! Aside from the excellent figure, I like the fact that Amishonline has set some really high standards for himself, which are outline below:
1. It must be durable for play or display. Each figure I make is as tough as or tougher than any related figure you can buy in the store!
2. Originality, each figure I make is a one of a kind piece, I may make similar items, but recipe, accessories, and style are each vastly different to each figure. It is not a practice to sell a figure for a large amount and make another identical item and sell it, to me that is an insult to the first buyer.
3. Competitive pricing is a must! I start all my customs at a low price of $0.99 to ensure that you, the buyer, will set the price. If it is not worth anything to you then it is not worth anything to me!!!
4. Kitbashing is frowned upon. I do not feel popping of a couple parts or weapons make a quality custom. Each figure I make is a complete breakdown of parts and accessories. If it does not fit to the feel of what I am looking for I will not use it. You will never catch me using inferior parts or misrepresenting a figure!
Leave it to Shinbitron to blend the universes of GI Joe and Transformers to come up with his latest Cobra weapon. His Custom Cobra BAT Transformersfigure is a cool concept and totally fits into modern warfare. If you think about it, unmanned drones are patrolling the skies in the Middle East and how cool would it be if they could transform and destroy targets on the ground? Shinobitron has taken the classic BAT colors and applied them to a Transformer and melded the two worlds together. To check out more photos, head over to eBay and while you are there, place a bid on Shinobitron’s Custom Cobra BAT Transformers figure.
Fitting in with the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line is Jin Saotome’s Custom Iron Grenadier TARGAT figure. TARGAT was one of those cool figures that was introduced way back in 1989 and Jin has done a great job getting the colors exactly right on this one. This version has an updated look and will go great standing next to your other GI Joe 25th figures. To check out more photos, head over to eBay and view Jin’s Custom Iron Grenadier TARGAT figure.
Beachhead was always one of those characters who flew under the radar. Making his debut in 1986, Beachhead became a great addition to the GI Joe’s fight against Cobra. Wats9876 has epitomized this great Joe in Sigma Six form with his Custom Sigma Six Beachhead figure. This figure will fit perfectly in with your existing Sigma Six figures as Wats9876 has done an excellent job matching the look and feel of the line while still retaining some classic look to the figure. For example, Beachhead is in his classic green uniform, which is his classic look, and he is wearing yellow camo pants, which gives him a more updated feel to him. Head over to eBay to check out Wats9876’s Custom Sigma Six Beachhead figure and to place a bid!
The Dreadnoks were a staple in my GI Joe universe as a kid and I remember filling the Thunder Machine to the brim with Zartan’s crew. StratoViper has captured the true essence of one the clan with his Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Monkeywrench figure. This figure looks exactly like the one from the 80’s but with better articulation and a more streamlined look. I like the bandannas around the legs and he even captured the patches on the jeans. Fan of the Dreadnoks or not, this figure would make an awesome addition to your GI Joe collection so head over to eBay and place a bid on StratoViper’s Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Monkeywrench figure.
Jin Saotome is adding to Cobra Commander’s BAT arsenal with his Custom Bodyguard Cobra Battle Android Trooper from the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line. It looks like he has taken the upper torso from the Crimson Twins and went to town on the rest of the figure. I love the way the figure mixes both realistic looking body parts (e.g, upper thighs and upper arms) with cyborg parts. Jin as interesting back story on this figure so let’s see what he has to say:
“Destro is the king of black-market arms dealing and in that crowd you need extra protection. Recently our Intel has reported of him travelling with a new type of Cobra BAT decked out to match his team and always standing close by in case some mercenary tries to steal what he’s already stolen. What worries us is the upgrades he’s installed. These BATs have advanced combat training and are more than just the walk-and-shoot type. They are even agile enough to climb up walls and follow a target quietly, drawing a knife when it’s time to move in for the kill!”
I am so happy with the 25th GI Joe Anniversary line and it is Customizers like Jin Saotome keep the line going with one of a kind pieces and figures like his Custom Scarlett with Iron Strike Mech. I like the Mechs that Hasbro produced a few years ago but they still could not get it quite right but Jin figured out that if he made his own, he could make something grand that would be a great addition to anyone’s Cobra Army. Let’s hear more about this great Mech:
“*Stomp Stomp Stomp Stomp* What’s that sound? It’s the sound of Cobra about to lose a battle! Enter the Iron Strike Mech, the Joe’s newest battlefield addition. The Iron Strike has been painted with care to match the current assortment of Joe vehicles, yet still retains a certain level of detail such as panel lines, shading, and metallic effects which will please the demanding collector. You even get a pilot, Scarlett, all decked out in her new mecha pilot suit. She fits easily into the now modified cockpit, as will most other Joes that have the full range of hip motion needed to sit. Blast away at Cobra with the Iron Strike’s cannons or use the claw to fling those pesky Zombie Soldiers out of the way.”
Throwing a little Sigma Six in the mix, Dead Man Customs has done a fantastic job paying homage to Tony Stark with his Custom Iron Man Sigma Six crossover figure. It is unique when a customizer can use parts from other toy lines to create the right look and feel. With the Sigma Six line from GI Joe, the figures were made using very hard lines and angles and I think that goes very well with the world of Iron Man and creates a nice canvas and medium to create one of a kind pieces. This Iron Man boasts an incredible 27 points of articulation and the faceplate on his helmet and chest were sculpted with Aves Fixit Sculpt. Also featured is a removable chest blast for when the fight needs to go to the next level. To view more photos, especially of the cool chest piece, head over to eBay and check out Custom Iron Man Sigma Six crossover figure.
I know many of you who make customs also buy your figures on eBay so check out this rockin promo that eBay has with Microsoft. I have personally used it to buy big ticket items (Blu Ray Player, Digital Camera, etc.) and it really works and is very simple! Here are the details: MS Live Cash Back Program!
Scarlett, on of the leading ladies in the GI Joe comics and cartoons, is given a fresh look by BoskoesToys. Thier Custom Sigma Six Scarlett GI Joe figure combines an anime look to soften up the hard lines of the Sigma Six type of figure. Although a figure was never produced for Scarlett in the original line, BoskoesToys has translated her cartoon version to a figure and did an excellent job! Looking much softer than most of the figures in the Sigma Six line, she retains her cartoon appeal and would be a great addition to your Sigma Six collection. Head over to eBay and check out thier Custom Sigma Six Scarlett GI Joe figure.
Typically I see Custom Golobulus figures made in Marvel Legends scale but WaysCreations decided to beef up the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line and create a the Supreme Leader of the Cobra La in a smaller scale. This Custom Golobulus figure is one of the best I have seen. The massive tail is coiled to keep the figure standing tall and he fused it to the body very seamlessly. Overall, WaysCreation paid a really nice homage to the leader of the Cobra La so head over to eBay if you want to own this Custom 25th Anniversary Golobulus figure!
Darrens5150 is most noted for his Custom Lego Star Wars figures but today he has ventured out of his comfort zone to create one of the coolest Cobra Soldiers with his Custom Extreme Battle Damaged BAT figure. AS a kid, I did not army build my figures like I do as an adult but if I did, the BAT would have been a a mainstay in my Cobra arsenal and I would have loved to have a version where the BAT was obliterated and damaged like this one. Not only did he go above and beyond a simple repaint but he has thoroughly enhanced the fresh from battle look with loose wires, bullet holes, and battle scoring. One of the most notable features of this custom is the working red light in the chest, which is a cool feature considering that the BAT’s are androids and having working parts. If you want to own one of the coolest BAT’s I have ever seen, head over to eBay and check out Darrens5150’s Custom Extreme Battle Damamaged BAT figure.
You have to hand it to Jin for creating a mash up of two of the most popular toy lines in history with his Custom Cobra Rattler GI Joe Transformers Universe crossover figure. Using a great weathering technique, this Rattler is sporting the classic Cobra blue. The decals make this custom unique as the Decepticon Symbol and the Cobra Symbols compliment each other well on each wing. Let’s learn more about this great figure:
“Powerglide has been transformed into the most iconic Cobra aircraft, the Cobra Rattler. He’s decked out in a highly detailed paint job that includes realistic shading, panel wear, flight weathering, metallics, and is sealed to prevent wear. He even sports the Cobra Airforce decals as well as Decepticon emblems. His missiles are removable and he has a rotating center turret that activates his lights and machine gun sounds.”
BoskoesToys has filled a void in the Sigma 6 GI Joe line with their Custom Battle Android Trooper. I was never happy with Hasbro’s version of the Sigma 6 BAT and it is great that BoskoesToys has paid attention to retaining the BAT’s classic look and feel. The black and yellow paint aps are just the start. Let’s get a rundown of what this figure comes with:
HYPER DETAIL PRO PAINT APP
CLEAR CHEST GEAR WINDOW
EXCHANGABLE RIGHT HAND ATTACHMENTS (DRILL, CLAW, GUN, GRAPLING TENTICLE)
HOLSTER WITH REMOVABLE PISTOL
REMOVABLE SHOULDER PADS
BACKPACK HAS BUILT IN SOUND EFFECT (CREEPY BATTLE HOWL) AND LED LIGHT WHICH GIVES A REALLY COOL EFFECT (Batteries are replaceable, and replacement batteries are included)
LIGHT UP LED SMART BOMB (CAN BE HELD IN GRAPLING TENTICLE CLAW)
DISPLAY BASE (PICTURED)
To check out more pictures, head over to eBay and check out BoskoesToys Custom Battle Android Trooper in Sigma 6 style.
What takes a licking and keeps on ticking? GettingRidOfToys has provided an excellent answer to that age old question with his Custom Battle Damaged Battle Android Tooper(aka BAT) figure. I recently wrote about another one of his Battle Damaged BATs as I really loved the concept so here I am writing about it again! As with customs, every figure is unique and this BAT in particular has some great battle damage effects. For example, this BAT has been to hell and back and the helmet looks like it is shredding off his head! The collateral damage on the shoulder completes the look! Head over to eBay to own one of these unique Custom Battle Damaged Battle Android Tooper figure or check out the other Custom GI Joes!
The BAT was one of my favorite figures to play with as a kid and was a central part of my Cobra army. The battle scenes that I would create for my GI Joes would be tremendous and it looks like GettingRidOfToys has created a Custom Battle Damaged BATthat looked exactly like I had imagined an android coming back from a huge war would look like. First off, the concept for this custom is awesome. What BAT comes back from battle unharmed? The paint aps are amazing and he even went so far as to redo the original paint aps and apply a great weathering technique to the figure. The bullet hole blasting out of the back of the BAT’s head adds a really nice effect and I love the shattered face. Check out GettingRidOfToys’ Custom Battle Damaged BATon eBay or check out the other Custom GI Joes!
Cobra will soon be getting a boost to their air attach arsenal if the secret deal Destro struck with an unnamed GI Joe operative goes as planned. PrittyMommie has delivered the blue print to Cobra and they have produced their first F-14 prototype with this Custom Cobra Skystriker. This jet has dawned the signature black and blue Cobra camo in a nice glossy finish. Another operative has told me that this is the last Cobra Skystriker that PrittyMommie will do so snatch this one up while you can by heading over to eBay and placing a bid to add this awesome Custom Cobra Skystriker to your Cobra Army today! While you are there, be sure to check out the other Custom GI Joe and Cobra figures as well.
Jin Saotome continues to add great figures to the GI Joe 25th Anniversary line and his Custom GI Joe Overkillis no exception. To be honest, I have never been a fan of the Overkill figure but Jin has made some great improvements and modifications to the original Overkill concept. I like the proportions to the figure as I have always thought that the original Hasbro Overkill figure was disproportionate. Jin tells us a little more about his Custom Overkill:
“Overkill has been through many character changes over the years and it’s time he was upgraded once again. Here he is created in the 25th Anniversary style, complete with a super detailed paint job including multi-tone shading, weathered metal highlights, and battle-scuffed metallics. You can remove his right arm and attach his arm cannon the instant those Joes show up on his sensors. Overkill too damaged to go on? His head can be removed and saved for a new body, or perhaps installed on a B.A.T. so he can continue leading his android troops in battle! This is one android you don’t want to mess with folks. So, need an updated version of the B.A.T. commander? Know a friend who loves popping the heads off all his figures?”
I like the fact that you can remove his head and the wires coming out of the neck add a nice touch to his Custom BAT Leader Overkill so head over to eBay and check it out. After you are finished looking at this figure, check out the multitude of Custom GI Joe figures.
With briefcase and all, NTT has equipped Destro to work at his first desk job…yeah right! What this Custom Marvel Legends Destrois capable of I will leave that to your imagine but NTT has done an awesome job capturing the classic nature of this Cobra favorite. I love the over sized weaponry and vintage Destro’esque suit, he is ready to take on GI Joe. What I love about this figure is the attention to detail surroundigng the forarm weapons. I wish I could go to work sporting a pair of rockets and grenades on my arms. Here is a bit more detail from NTT himself about how this Destro was made:
“This figure stands 8 inches tall and features multiple points of articulation (including head, arms, elbows, wrists, torso, legs, andknees). Parts of this custom was sculpted with Aves apoxie (very durable) and completely hand painted in acrylics. Being a huge fan of the GI Joe series, decided to make a Destro figure in the Marvel Legends scale. He’s been made with lots of attention to detail, for example the grenades and missiles on his forearm, his ruby opal necklace, and even added those studs around his neck. Included with this figure you get the bigazz machine gun, the briefcase, and a rapier sword.”
Looks like RaysCustoms is gearing up for the upcoming GI Joe Movie with his Custom Marvel Legends GI Joe Snake Eyes Moviefigure. Snake Eyes is such a classic figure and this version has some notable aspects. First, the way the figure is painted makes it look like he is wearing a suit as the paint aps have been applied in a way to mirror clothing. The boots look realistic as if they have been worn for years and have seen many battles. Second, the fine details (like the grenades on the shoulder strap, the gun in the holster, and the knife in the boot) are nice touches that make RaysCustoms figures a cut above the rest. If you are so inclined, head over to eBay to take a look at RaysCustoms Custom Marvel Legends GI Joe Snake Eyes Moviefigure. Also, every 90 days eBay removes items from their databases so you can check out all of the Custom GI Joe figures anytime!
proudpaapaa1 has allocated budget to the Crimson Guards and given them a way attack on land and sea with his Custom Crimson Cobra HISS Tank and Killer WHALE GI Joe vehicles. What a way to upgrade Cobra’s Elite forces! The devil is in the details with this one as he has made a great color scheme and design for some classic GI Joe and Cobra figures. The blues and crimson red are in the right places on the HISS Tank and I like the upside down triangle cobra symbol on the side of the tank as it makes it look more militaristic. Take a look at the detailing below:
Custom Crimson Cobra HISS
As for the Killer WHALE, it was captured by the Crimson Guard and redone and what a great looking vehicle this is. Again, the crimson red is the right shade and I love the choice of blue on this one. The alternating colors really accent the right pieces on the vehicle and I love the addition of the cobra symbols on the front of hovercraft:
Who can fight for freedom where ever there’s trouble and defend the universe against the Dark Lords of the Sith? Apparently Snake Eyes can as Jedi-Style has created this Custom Snake Eyes GI Joe Star Wars Crossoverfigure. This is the first time I have come across a custom that has combined both the worlds of Star Wars and GI Joe but I think the Snake Eyes figure captures both aspects of the two universes nicely. I like the way the Jedi browns are combined with the Snake Eye’s classic black suit. The figure comes with a nice assortment of weapons to kick either Sith or Cobra’s butt and they compliment the figure in a great way. For example, the hilt of the lightsaber, which is made out of metal, attaches maginettically to SE’s belt. Who doesn’t have room for one of these on thier belts? Let’s read more about this great custom Jedi-Style:
This custom is made from several different figure lines features full articulation, highly detailed and realistic paint work, a real metal Lightsaber hilt that atattches to a real magnet set into the figures belt and will include your choice of either blue, green or purple Lightsaber blade, the sword is custom painted and is removable from the sheath, this figure also has added pouches, removable over-shoulder sword sheath, chest armor, functioning holster with 9mm pistol and carries 2 silenced MP5’s.

Gearing up for the new GI Joe Movie, SixIceCubes is ahead of the game with his Custom Medicon Snake Eyes 12″ figure. Using the RAH Darth Maul figure that was made by Medicom, he has taken Snake Eyes to the next level. The detailing on this figure is outstanding! From the communicator that stems from his ear down to the holsters and knee pads, SixIceCubes has captured the essence of Snake Eyes in an articulated figure decked out in soft goods.

Attention to detail was not spared when corycastle13 crafted this Custom Cobra Jungle HISS. This HISS comes packed with ammo and can carry an army of Cobra soldiers into battle that you could almost call this an APC. It is fitting that I am reviewing a GI Joe vehicle on the 64th Anniversary of the landing of allied forces on the beaches of Normandy during WWII, more commonly referred to as D-Day,because this HISS tank reminds me of aspects that I have seen on WWII tanks and armory. For example, some aspects of this HISS remind of the US built M2A1 Half Track crossed with a Nebelwerfer, a World War II German towed rocket artillery launcher, developed in the 1930s and used against ground targets. The .50 caliber machine guns mounted on the front give the HISS a menacing look that can do real damage. As seen in the photo below, the guns and ammo have their place and the packs mounted to the side of the HISS give it a war torn feel that soldiers live in. This is one of the best crafted Custom HISS I have come across to date!
Bigtado has recruited an ace in the hole to join to the fight for freedom with his Custom Splinter Cell GI Joe Sam Fisher cross over figure. This figure is very nicely detailed and the signature night vision goggles add the realism to this classic video game character. For those not familiar with Sam Fisher, here is a little more background: As a covert agent of the government, Fisher approaches his target objectives in a gruff, no-nonsense manner, but maintains a light-hearted relationship with his colleagues and even with his momentary hostages (even if he is going to kill them) . Fisher has little patience for government bureaucracy or political maneuvering.
axandsmash brings us a very nice addition to the GI Joe 25th Anniversary collection with his Custom Dusty figure. The tan and the brown camo pay a very nice homage to the classic Dusty figure that came out in 1985. The hooded desert headgear and the camo across the face define this figure as the desert trooper we all know and love. Bid on this awesome Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Dusty on eBay today!
Jin Saotome keeps the custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary figures coming with his Custom Ninja B.A.T. figure. The Battle Android Troopers are a mainstay of the Cobra Army and Jin has made them more versatile and more deadly. Keeping in tradition to the style of the B.A.T. line with removable weapons and accessories, Jin adds some very nice touches to this robot of war. With flip out blades on the elbows, this Ninja assassin is ready for battle and his opponent will not know what hit him! This auction just went up on eBay so head over to place an early bid for this unique Custom Ninja B.A.T. figure or check out the other pictures.
Creativity and skill is at the heart of yabemc’s Custom Iron Man War Machine Sigma Six Crossover figure. It takes talent to transform a Sigma Six Zartan figure into a work of art with a custom head made from scratch. I happened upon this awesome custom trolling through eBay’s completed listings but the really cool part is how much this custom went for! If you are curious, head over to the auction and see for yourself!
Based on the Sigma Six Cobra Commander, tdm-studios performs his magic and transforms a GI Joe figure into an awesome Iron Man custom. It takes real talent to see a figure on the shelf and create a totally new and unique figure and tdm-studios come through with a hit. The paint aps are nicely applied and the red and gold scheme cements this figure as Iron Man. The eyes of this figure give it real character and one figure you need in your Iron Man collection. Let’s hear more from tdm-studios about what went into this great custom:
“This figure has been customized to include a removable chest plate with light up led system, and a removable arm gauntlet. Many hours were spent creating certain designs and features for the figure. From the original sculpted head (not a cast) to the modifications to the hands and light up system, the attention to design was in every step. Some details include: original sculpted head (on top of the S-6 head), light blue acrylic inserts in the eyes, modifications to hands (open & closed fist), removable chest plate & led light system (it can be turned off & on with the turn of a screw and the batteries are replaceable), additional sculpted liberties throughout the body & a custom red (pearlecent) and gold paint scheme.”
The Iron Man customs are heating up on eBay and their is very good reason! Typically, there is a surge of character specific customs that land on eBay before and after the launch of a killer movie. The 2007 Transformers Movie and the 2008 Iron Man movies have given customizers a great canvas to demonstrate their creativity. That said, I would like to focus attention to a really cool cross over figure done by Jin Saotome. Jin has created a hybrid Marvel Legends Sigma Six Iron Man that looks like it could belong in both worlds of Marvel and GI Joe. This Iron Man figure has retained the unique style of the Sigma Six GI Joe line and has married the aspects that make Iron Man a force to recon with. The colors really compliment figure and you can clearly identify this as an Iron Man figure and the black washing really brings out the detail. This blend of worlds has really come together into a great looking figure and boy is this auction hot! To read more about this awesome custom, head over to Jin’s auction and see how red hot this figure is getting!

Since there are so many great customs out there to write about, I can’t possibly cover everything so sometimes I will troll around in the Completed Listings section of eBay and come across some gems that I missed. Jin Saotome has created a blast from the past with an updated version of an International figure with this Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Red Laser figure. Jin has made a really nice addition to this figure with the wrist gauntlet/backpack and weapon. The addition of the helmet logo pays great homage to the original Red Laser figure. For those not familiar with International GI Joe’s, Red Laser was an exclusive figure that was available in the United Kingdom and Europe around 1983 by the Palitoy toy company. He was available packaged with the Action Force Laser Exterminator – a red and black repaint of the HAL (Heavy Artillery Laser).
Although the auction has ended already, you can view Jin’s Custom Red Laser to find out more about him and also see more photos. Please Note: Items are removed from eBay databases every 90 days so if the item is gone, check out more Custom GI Joe figures.
As a kid, I used to have all out battles between GI Joe and Cobra and Scrap Iron played a huge part in destroying some strategic Joe bunkers and command centers. I grew up with the 3 3/4″ Joes and Scrap Iron performed his magic with his rocket launchers behind the Cobra Bunker and caused massive devastation (not to mention the large mess I had to clean up before I went to bed but we won’t go there!). Shinobintron takes on Scrap Iron in Sigma Six form and he does an excellent job capturing the colors and style of this classic Cobra figure. One aspect that I like about this figure is the way the helmet wraps around the head to give him maximum protection against a Joe onslaught. I like when customizers take some liberties and go out on a limb and I feel that the absence of the signature rocket launcher deserves some mention here but Shinobitron makes up for this with a big ass machine gun that looks like it can do some serious damage.
Shinobintron is one of the most talented customizers out there right now so make sure you check out his auction and place a very high bid on this Custom Sigma 6 GI Joe Scrap Iron figure! Please Note: Items are removed from eBay databases every 90 days so if the item is gone, check out more Custom GI Joe figures.
Dubbed the Command Oriented Military Battle Android Trooper and keenly acronym’d C.O.M.B.A.T., Jin Saotome once again displays his mad customizing skills and gives GI Joe a much need troop enhancement. The Cobra B.A.T. (Battle Android Trooper) was one my favorites to play with as a kid and as an adult it still remains a mainstay in my Cobra Army. The head sculpt is my favorite part of this custom and I love the tubes that go from the head to the back as it reveals a vulnerable point in the droid. The B.A.T. is the only troop that “dies” in the GI Joe cartoons so I can imagine this C.O.M.B.A.T. figure’s getting it’s tubes severed in battle and rendered useless. Jin goes on to explain more about his figure:
“Cobra BATs are all the rage these days, disposable troopers that Cobra Commander can flood the battlefield with while he cheats Zartan at cards in the Terrordrome. No complaining, no need for medics, what more could you ask? Well what goes around comes around, enter C.O.M.B.A.T. standing for Command Oriented Military Battle Android Trooper. More sophisticated than the earlier models (and based on my Sigma 6 Combat) this trooper is ready to deploy wherever you need him. This Combat unit 055 is ready to handle your basic trooper needs and wields a PDW and machine gun. Out of ammo? No sweat, Combat can deploy its shoulder mounted machine gun for a quick attack. Check out the hand painted weathering, shading, and detail. He even has an American flag to show off his patriotic spirit!”

Willard vs Kurtz takes the 3 3/4″ GI line and scales it up with his Custom 12″ Flint made to resemble 1980’s classic figure. Sideshow announced a partnership with Hasbro to create a line of 1/6 scale GI Joe figures but something tells me that they will not be a tenth as good as the one here. This figure is highly detailed, even down to the almost exact match of the camo pants. Here is some more information by Willard vs Kurtz about this awesome Flint:

Jin Saotome has created a one of a kind Cobra creation with his Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary Cobra Reaper figure. I love the creativity that goes into these customs and this figure is superbly detailed and would make a very unique addition to your Cobra army. Jin goes on and describes more about this figure:
“Introducing the Cobra Warlock, one of my newest customs that are based on the GI Joe 25th Anniversary figures. He’s fully poseable and features metallic detailing, deep shading, and highlights that really bring this character to life. This warlock can wield his obsidian scythe or blood-fang into battle and is ready to take on the Joes with soul-rending accuracy! Check out the real metal chains and the cape blades, this is one dangerous foe. The figure comes with a custom base too for display and will look great in your Joe collection, blending right into the Cobra team. So, need a really unique warrior for your staged battles? Know a diehard GI Joe fan who would demand the Reaper carry a firearm into combat? Then don’t pass this auction up!”
Form meets function with 2dtoys Custom Marvel Legends Firefly figure. This is one of the best Firefly’s I have seen in a long time. Every aspect of this figure reminds me of the classic 3 3/4″ figure from the GI Joe cartoon. No detail was spared and I especially like how 2dtoy’s did the weapons and gear on this one. Take a look at the detail of the pack, complete with Firefly’s tools of mayhem and destruction:
The gray camo detail is spot on and the accessories are a plenty so that Firefly can live up to his reputation of Cobra Saboteur. 2dtoys explains more about his process for creating this great figure: “This piece comes from my personal collection and I can honestly say it’s one of the better pieces I’ve made in recent years, and is definitely the most fun to play around with. This custom figure features 32 points of articulation and is completely poseable. You needn’t worry about paint rub with this one. Even the ab articulation, which is carefully hidden so as not to intrude with the design aesthetic is fully functional and offers surprisingly good mobility. He comes with his trademark rifle, a removeable handgun from his holster with an attachable silencer. He also has his backpack which opens up to reveal his sinister tools of sabotage and a cellphone.”

jwringo1 brings a classic to life with this Custom Cobra Baroness figure in 1/6 Scale. Using a Cy Girls figure as the base, this figure is crafted to look like the 1980’s cartoon figure with some modern modifications. Dressed in black with the iconic Cobra symbol, this Baroness figure is dressed to kill (or look hunt for the Mass Device). I love the addition of the glasses which really cements the look of the Baroness! Please Note: Items are removed from eBay databases every 90 days so if the item is gone, check out more Custom GI Joe figures.
Straight from the pages of the GI Joe Comics comes currentcomics1’s Custom Snake Eyes Arashikage Ninja Training figure. The 25th Anniversary GI Joe line has provided customizers with a fresh canvas to work from and I am seeing some great customs. The sculpting on this figure is superb and no detail was spared making this version nearly identical to the comics. A couple points to take note are the addition of the sleeves on the figure which flow very naturally from the arms and the ‘dog ears’ on the top of the hood. In currentcomics1’s auction, he gives us a rundown of how he made this great custom:
“I used a base figure (Legion Storm Shadow) from the 25th Anniversary G.I. Joe line made by Hasbro. The figure comes with 2 swords with painted Arashikage symbols. This is a character I made by sculpting around the eye area of the mask along with 2 lines as featured on Snake Eyes original 80’s mask and as seen in the Declassified mini. I added sleeves to the figure and also added the 2 dog ears on top of the hood like the red ninja figure. I sculpted the back hand protectors and the harness around his shoulders to mimic the look in the Devils Due mini series. I repainted it using Citadel acrylic paints. I painted the eyebrows a blond (yellow) and the eyes blue to match Snake-eyes original look before the helicopter accident. The paint is fully dry and you may handle the figure. Be very careful since the paint might rub off between the joints. I did a lot of custom trimming using a Dremel tool between each joint to avoid paint rub or chipping between the joints; but you never know.”
One of my favorite figures in the GI Joe line are the international figures from various countries. This week, romatoys gives us an updated version of the Argentinian figure called Cobra de Aco. I have always wanted to own one of these figures but unfortunately the price tag is way too high for me. romatoys makes this dream of owning a Cobra de Aco figure come true with his 25th Anniversary homage to a great international figure. He nailed the yellow and the cobra symbol cements his allegiance to Cobra Commander. Check out his Custom 25th Anniversary Cobra de Aco figure on eBay today!
artifax_toyz has given classic Joe fans a very good reason to own a Sigma Six figure with his Custom GI Joe Dial Tone classic! Paying a great tribute to the original Dial Tone from the 3 3/4″ line from 1986, the colors are a dead on match. The weapons are very cool as they are updated versions of the rifle and CommLink Backpack. This figure retains all of the classic GI Joe’ness the fans from the 80’s have known to grow and love. Let’s hear about what other great features this figure has in store for the lucky winner: This figure has been made to resemble the original 3 3/4th Dial Tone figure based on the 80’s hit classic cartoon. Hasbro has since decided to cancel the 8″ Sigma 6 line. Add this classic character to your collection. This figure is one of a kind and will no longer be produced. It’s a must have for GI Joe collectors. Own a part of Sigma 6 history.

Last February, Hasbro posted guidelines for GI Joe customizers. Please note that this does not apply to other toy lines:
Hasbro Provides Customizing Guidelines to Collectors
Dear Fans and Customizers,
The G.I. JOE team would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the customizing community and the incredible creativity and passion that goes into each one of your projects. We are continually impressed by your work.
The customizing community ranges from those who work with product to those who customize packages and artwork. There has recently been some confusion as to what constitutes the legal resale of customized product and what constitutes trademark infringement. The following guidelines for using Hasbro trademarks should provide some clarity.
Hasbro encourages the customizing of individual figures for personal usage,
and can be resold as one-of-a-kind, out-of-package figures.
All Hasbro artwork, such as card art, cannot be reprinted without permission
from Hasbro. These assets contain Hasbro-owned trademarks and logos, and
cannot be sold or reproduced without Hasbro’s permission
Hasbro owned trademarks such as character names and the GI Joe brand name cannot be used without written permission from Hasbro.
As we look to the future of the G.I. JOE franchise, we want to ensure that the customizing community can thrive while Hasbro continues to protect the brand that it has spent the last 45 years creating. Hasbro will become more aggressive in the legal pursuit of counterfeit product that is being sold in all channels. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
Bringing one of the most popular GI Joe characters to life, grinmankey has remade Storm Shadow in Marvel Legends style. There are many aspects about this custom that make it stand out above the rest. First, grinmankey has retained the classic look of Storm Shadow in all of his version 1 greatness. Second, the sculpting on this figure is done really well, even down to the ninja stars on his belt. Finally, there are some subtle wrinkles and pulls in the ‘fabric’ of the costume that make this custom come to life. For example, in the mask, it looks like the mask pulls around the nose, adds some depth to the face. Also, the choice of legs makes it look like Storm Shadow’s costume is flowing around the legs and not has form fitting. grinmankey tells us how he made this great custom:
“This is a one-of-a-kind custom of Storm Shadow from the criminal organization known as COBRA. Ever since I was a kid, Storm Shadow was one of my favorite GI Joes (wasn’t he everybody’s?). My brother and I would always play as Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Perfect rivals. Ever since I started customizing, I’ve wanted to do a Storm Shadow figure and I finally got around to it. There have been many different costumes for the ninja, Storm Shadow, but this was my favorite, the classic look. I hope this figure lives up to the character. The two swords, bow and arrows are all removable and the figure can be played with, but do so with care because there could be paint rub on the joints.. It retains all original articulation of the figures used to create it.. Enjoy! Storm Shadow is made with the highest quality products available. The sculpt work is done with Aves Apoxie. the painting is done using Citadel Brand paints from Games Workshop. The parts and accessories are made from existing Marvel Legends and SOTA street fighter figures.”
The Tiger Force UK figures are my favorites in the International lines and romatoys has recreated one of the most sought after figures with his Custom Tiger Force Outback figure. I really like the different color scheme that he chose and the fact that it is not a direct copy of the UK Outback. He took some liberties with the pant color and headband but I think it really works for this figure. The Tiger on his orange shirt is very well replicated and the figure is rounded out with a great custom file card that matches the yellow version the International figures were famous for. Add this awesome Custom Tiger Force Outback to your lineup today!
romatoys has some unique custom GI Joe figures for sale this week and his Custom Slaughter’s Marauders Cover Girl is one of them. Although Hasbro is the king of repainted action figures and the toy company is not shy about reproducing figures many times over, there are some squads that they made that were classics! I would rank the Slaughter’s Marauders as one of them (along with Tiger Force, which romatoys also has up for sale this week). The color scheme is dead on and matches very well with the original Slaughter’s Marauders and he has the right colors in the all the right places.
Jin Saotome has created a dead on Custom Sam Fisher from the video game Splinter Cell from a GI Joe Sigma Six figure. One really cool feature about this custom is the light up goggles, which, if you have played the game, are used quite a bit and cements the look of Sam outside of the video game world. Like all of Jin’s customs, the paint aps look flawless. Another cool aspect of this custom was that is was featured in Playstation Magazine! Nice going Jin! In Jin’s own words, here is how he created this great custom:
“Here’s my take on Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, covert black-ops agent and all around tough guy. He’s styled to match the Sigma 6 GI Joe theme and is part of my Video Game All-Stars line that will be appearing in issues of Playstation the Official Magazine. Sam’s painted with various highlights, shading, and texture with hand sculpted sections made from Aves Fixit Sculpt, the best sculpting compound on the market. Check out the straps and pouches all over him, who knows what he’s packing in there! But what’s Sam Fisher without those trademark goggles? And yes folks, THEY LIGHT UP! All three goggle lenses were hand-made and have bright green LEDs. Press the button on his back and you can illuminate a dark corner they’re so bright. Batteries are included and can be changed out when needed. So… ready to sneak around your figure collection with Sam Fisher? Know a friend who owns a bunch of Metal Gear figures that need assassinating? Then don’t pass this auction up!!”
You can own this figure by going to eBay and bidding on Jin’s Custom Sam Fisher Splinter Cell or check out the other Custom Video Game figures.
Alyosha brings a late 1980’s GI Joe classic figure to life with his Custom Night Viper 3 3/4″ figure. An army builders favorite, this Night Viper is well equipped to sneak into the dark of night with an updated color scheme which favors black more than green. I really like the subdued version of the night vision goggles that Alyosha made for this Night Viper. Here are some great attributes about Alyosha’s customs that make them unique:
“This figure is cast in the same high grade urethane rubbers I usually use in all my products. It is cast in the base colors of black/green and painted with the highest quality Tamiya and Testors paints to allow for maximum playing and posing (but remember, it’s still a custom). The figure is fully posable and comes with a removable helmet, backpack and rifle as shown.”
You can own this one of kind figure by heading over to Alyosha’s auction for his Custom Night Viper GI Joe figure. If you want to get the skinny on the Night Vipers, read on below.
A NIGHT-VIPER’s helmet is a miracle of electronic-miniaturization. Aside from its wide-angle, third-generation, image-intensifier, directional sound amplifier and laser range-finder, the helmet boasts a passive infrared detector that can spot the body heat of a squirrel at 100 yards. The Night-Viper’s helmet, combat suit and weapons are mostly made of synthetic composites that reduce the wearer’s own infrared signature and defy most ground radars.”Night-Vipers are always in traning and never see daylight. They live in windowless barracks with no interior lights. They spend most of their time trying to sneak up on each other. All you have to do to knock one out is to shine a flashlight in his face and burn out his sensors. The problem is, you have to find him first.”
herno has reinvigorated the Custom GI Joe category and infused it with some very unique custom carded GI Joe figures. Anyone looking for that 1980’s nostalgia should flock to his seller page as he has many figures uniquely carded that you will find nowhere but his eBay page. Here are some excellent examples that look like Hasbro produced them back in the 80’s:
unclechopchop187 has created a one of a kind Custom GI Joe 12″ Snake Eyes and he is up for sale on eBay! Snake Eyes is sporting some very cool accessories, including his infamous Uzi and a real metal Katana Sword. You get both Commando and Ninja with this one. Here is some insight on how he created this great looking custom:
“I custom made this on, taking parts from other 12 inch figures. Some parts are from BBI, some are from Dragon, as well as Hot toys. I put in a ton of work into this one and made it correctly. Trust me, it is truly awesome and is top notch quality. I paid a ton for all of the parts, and spent tons of time into it. It even has Snake Eyes famed gun, the UZI. And because he’s a ninja, I actually fitted him with a Real metal (yes you heard right, Metal) katana sword. I put only the best parts so it would look right. A must for all of the Snake Eyes fans out there!!”
This is definitely a must have for GI Joe fans and with the 25th Anniversary figures flooding pegs, there is sure to be much interest in this Snake Eyes!
Cobra Commander is at the helm of his massive Cobra army, amassing soldiers, elite forces, and guards. Absolute power! Total control of the world . . . its people, wealth, and resources–that’s the objective of Cobra Commander. This fanatical leader rules with an iron fist. He demands total loyalty and allegiance. His main battle plan for world control relies on revolution and chaos. He personally led uprisings in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and other trouble spots. Responsible for kidnapping scientists, businessmen, and military leaders, then forcing them to reveal their top level secrets. Cobra Commander is hatred and evil personified. Corrupt. A man without scruples. Probably the most dangerous man alive!
This week, ms_kittka brings us a highly detailed custom in the style of Sideshow and Dragon figures. This customizer describes how this Cobra Commander was made:
“This is a custom made Cobra Commander. The head is a made of a two part plastic compound. Casted from a silicon mold of a head sculpted especially for this project. The head is mounted onto a 1/6 scale Dragon body (neo 2 I think) with a two-part epoxy, then painted. The head is totally poseable. It can look up and down and spin all the way around 360 degree’s. The clothes are made from some heavily modified Kriegsmarine Dragon clothes.” There has been a resurgence of GI Joes as the 25th Anniversary is upon Joe fans across the world. This is a great time for Joe fans and each and every one of them should not miss out on ms_kittka’s Custom 12″ Cobra Commander!
