Spiderman Custom Marvel Legends Figure

I have been a fan of Jin’s work for a very long time and there is good reason!  He consistently knocks his customs out of the ballpark!  His amazing Custom Marvel Legends Spiderman figure is packed full of articulation, where he can “look straight up, hunch, crouch, crawl, leap, akimbo, and pose just about any way you can imagine.”  That is more articulation than you can shake a stick at.  I love the dark lines that compliment the red spider suit, highlighting fine details in the figure.  There is also one more hidden surprise, which you will have to discover by clicking over to Jin’s item page to check out his Custom Marvel Legends Spiderman figure.

Optimus Primal Custom Beast Wars Transformers Figure

Optimus Prime Transformers Dark of the Moon Custom

After seeing Transformers Dark of the Moon, I appreciated how the designers made Optimus with more weapons and Frenzy.Rumble has created one of the greatest figures I have seen thus far with his Custom Transformers Dark of the Moon Ultimate Optimus Prime.  If you want a figure that stays true to the movie, this one is it!  Not only does this figure have enough armor on it repel any Decepticon onslaught, Frenzy.Rumble paid attention to detail so many aspects of this figure.  By custom making wings and a jet pack, this figure looks like he was pulled right from the movie.  The jet pack was designed to appear that the thrusters were about to take off, which is a very cool effect and the Autobot symbols add a nice touch to this great addition.

Ironhide Transformers Dark of the Moon Leader Class Custom

It only took 3 movies but TF3 has brought us one of the great characters in the line now in Leader Class form and Frenzy.Rumble has turned Good to Great and Epic into Ultimate with his Custom Transformers Dark of the Moon Ironhide figure.  I must say, the off the shelf version of this figure is not bad but after getting one glimpse of Frenzy.Rumble’s creation, I have to agree with his ‘Ultimate’ designation for this figure.  There are certain levels of customizing Frenzy.Rumble can take a figure, iterate the heck out of it, and transform it into a work of art.  Take one look at the before and after shot:

At a 10,000 foot view, giving this figure a cohesive style and color was a huge improvement.  I was not sure why the original figure has blue but Frenzy.Rumble saw this as an opportunity to give the figure the look it was meant for.  At the 1,000 foot level, you will notice two very large scratch built cannons attached to his arms.  These cannons bring out the badass in the figure, which boasted the line ‘Feeling lucky, punk” in the first movie.  Not only do these cannons look amazing, they also have LEDs for added effect:

At the 100 foot view, you will see paint app accents that give depth to the figure and define the various segments of the body.  Sometimes when a figure is made this great, the ability to transform the figure is sacrificed but who would want to turn this figure into a truck when it looks this amazing?  The release of the movie is right around the corner and Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom Transformers Dark of the Moon Ironhide figure is set to end on June 29th so make sure you mark that on your calendar so you don’t forget to bid on this epic figure!

Mid-Warp Skywarp Masterpiece Transformers Custom

Frenzy.Rumble is a customizer with a fountain of ideas and he is never shy about making his concepts come to life, which is evidenced by his Custom Transformers Masterpiece Mid-Warp Skywarp figure.  Original ideas are what customizing is all about and this Mid-Warp figure is brilliantly executed!  This Mid-Warp figure appears to be changing from translucent to black right before your eyes as the clear plastic blends into the black plastic with a fusion of hot blue in between the pieces.  To tell us more about how he achieved this effect, let’s hear from Frenzy.Rumble:

“Mid-Warp Skywarp was an idea I executed well a few months ago, using a deluxe sized, universe crystal clear seeker. With rave reviews and comments, and the urge to make it bigger and make it better; I went all out on a Masterpiece class version. Mid-Warp Sky stands approximately nine inches tall in robot mode (22.9 cm). He was built using a rare and expensive “Ghost of Starscream”  Masterpiece figure. Spent countless hours removing the factory paint and details, and sanded then polished the clear plastic to a glass-like finish. I also modified his rear tail fins so that they don’t hang off his hips and are permanently fixed to his lower legs. His display base is also custom painted, and include a very bright LED light which lights up Mid-Warp Skywarp from the ground up, adding extra effect to his teleportation.”

Steampunk Thor Custom Marvel Legends Figure

Continuing with his Steampunk line of figures, Jin Saotome has immortalized the God of Thunder with his Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Thor figure.  It is cool to imagine the classic Marvel characters in an age of steam, metal and bronze.  The shading of the figure brings out all of the amazing detail, such as the muscles, rivets, head gear.  The voltage containment units on his back give the figure a very cool effect and the larger pointed bronze pieces protruding from the knees and biceps add dimension.  Metal gears, chains, reflective optics, and magnetics round out this awesome Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Thor figure so head over to eBay because there is less than a day left to snag this one and add it to your Marvel Legends or Steampunk collection.

Acid Storm Transformers Masterpiece Custom

With 25% of the sale benefiting the Japanese Red Cross Society, Frenzy.Rumble has created this Custom Masterpiece Transformers Acid Storm figure in a charity auction that will help with the relief efforts from the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan.  I agree when he said that he “knew he had to go over the top” when creating this figure and he definitely delivered on that promise.  If you remember Frenzy.Rumble’s MP Sunstorm, he had created melting effects and he did something very similar with this custom as he has made the figure look like it is being eaten away by acid.  The places where I really love the acid effects are on the after burners (as you can see in the photo below) and the two air intakes by the head of the figure.  Not only has he  created some very cool visual effects on the figure, he applied glow in the dark paint apps, which gives the figure a whole new dimension.

Sunstorm MP Transformers Custom

Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire!  Like the protoform Transformers hurling to earth and burning up on reentry, Frenzy.Rumble has created some killer flame effects for his latest Custom Transformers Masterpiece Sunstorm figure.  Imagining how Sunstorm would rocket through the sky, literally on fire, as the metal is pealing and melting off the of robot brings the concept to reality and achieves a look that I have not seen attempted before.   It takes a true artist and gobs of talent to pull off the burning, singeing, and fire effects to a plastic figure.  Here is a close up of the work applied to Sunstorm’s tail wings:

Steampunk Dr. Doom Marvel Legends Custom

Continuing his classic era figures comes Jin Saotome’s latest Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Dr. Doom figure.  The way the armor was crafted and painted in bronze, gold, brass, and copper effects makes the figure look more like royalty, especially when it is holding a goblet in his hand.  If you think about it, this is the perfect figure to do in Steampunk style due to the fact that his suit is made entirely of armor, which gives a lot of latitude in how this figure could be conceived and executed.  My favorite part of this figure is the leg armor as I can picture Dr. Doom clunking around as the gears turn and the knee joints bend.  The weathering of the figure makes it look like it is from the era.  To view more photos of Jin’s Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Dr. Doom figure, head over to eBay!

Hulk Hogan 1989 Minnesota State Fair

When I think of wrestling customs, I think of Skribbel24 and his ability to create very accurate representations of the icons we grew up (or are growing up) with.  With his latest Custom Hulk Hogan as he appeared at the 1989 Minnesota State Fair, this is his first ever head sculpt that he made from scratch.  He did an excellent job sculpting the likeness of the Hulkster and he even gave the figure some personality with the expression that was sculpted on the face.  I had the great opportunity to see Hulk Hogan in action at Wrestlemania 7 and I remember seeing that stare that Skribbel24 has created on his face as be battled Sgt. Slaughter!  Not only did he create a figure, he also replicated the “I survived an atomic leg drop from Hulk Hogan” t-shirt.  If you want to place a bid on Skribbel24′s Custom Hulk Hogan as he appeared at the 1989 Minnesota State Fair, head over to eBay!

Stryfe Custom Marvel Legends Figure

With their first figure in 2011, Boskoes Toys is coming out swinging with their Custom Marvel Legends Stryfe figure.  The team over at Boskoes Toys are excellent at translating comic and art into plastic and this figure is an excellent example of how talented their designers and sculptors can be.  The paint app style and shaping techniques makes the plastic on the figure look like metal.  The addition of blue accents on the figure on the thighs and chest really break up the silver tone of the figure and give it a unique look.  The mask is more streamlined than the comic art but that is a welcome addition as it takes a lot of the weight out of the face.  Round the figure out with the protruding spikes on the thighs and shoulders and you have one heck of a Custom Marvel Legends Stryfe figure!

Wreck-Gar Transformers Custom

Wreck-Gar is one of those classic, memorable, characters from the G1 cartoon and, most recently, the Transformers Animated series.  The Transformers Generations line has exceeded my expectations and it is mostly because customizers like Frenzy.Rumble adding their talent to really bring out the best in the line and his Custom Transformers Generations Wreck-Gar is a perfect example.  He has made this figure come alive with his masterful paintwork and detailing.  For example, the original figure had a lot of gray in the waist, shoulders, and legs and what a difference a unifying color scheme makes to the overall look and feel of this figure.  Spikes were also added to the figure to give it a unique look that only a Transformer named Wreck Gar could pull off.

Steampunk Captain America Custom

Jin Saotome is continuing his Steampunk line with this amazing Captain America Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk figure.  There are subtle details in this figure that bring out that old world style.  For example, the letter A on Captain Americas forehead is done with a style reminiscent of the 1900′s and the rivets on the front of the figure remind me of an old style military uniform.  Saving the best piece for last is the magnetic clockwork shield, which I believe is the central feature of this custom.  The detail in the gears and mechanisms of this shield are superbly executed and there are blades that can attach in any way you please.

Reflector G1 Transformers Masterpiece Custom

Only available through mail order in 1986 for those lucky kids who collected enough robot points and scrimped and saved their allowance to pay for the shipping and handling, Frenzy.Rumble created an updated version of this G1 toy/cartoon fusion with his Custom Transformers Masterpiece Reflector.  The color choice for these figures is spot as it looks like the figures were pulled right from the cartoon, in their classic silver, purple, and green color scheme.  Not only has Frenzy.Rumble added massive amounts of articulation (compared to the original figures), he also added some cool effects, such as a light up lens and a hologram of the Decepticon symbol on the view finder.  To show the scale of these figures, here are some pictures with their Decepticon buddies:

Steampunk Deadlpool Custom Marvel Legends Figure

Jin Saotome is a master of originality, which brings me to his latest Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Deadpool figure.  Never seen before in any comic or video game, this version of Deadpool is a one of a kind!  According to Wikipedia, Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s. Specifically, steampunk involves an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century and often Victorian era Britain—that incorporates prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; in other words, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, art, etc.

The Steampunk style is evident in not only the costume design of Deadpool but also the weapons, which are my favorite parts of this figure.  The weapons look like they were scrapped together using parts from a factory.  Here is more about this great figure from Jin himelf:

Ben Gali Thundercats Custom Figure

The Thundercats are another great classic cartoons from the 80′s that has a major following.  Boskoes, one of the great customizers of almost any toy line, has a Custom Thundercats Ben Gali figure up this week but it is not being sold directly from Boskoes.  It looks like someone bought it and is selling it for some reason but nonetheless you have a chance to own this great Ben Gali figure for yourself.  In Boskoes styling, this figure has a great amount of detail with the dark shading of the figure bringing out the various muscle tones in the figure.  This is one fierce looking Ben Gali, a figure which I am used to seeing more subdued.

For those who don’t remember, “Bengali is the holder of the Hammer of Thundera, a tool that serves both as a weapon (fires bursts of energy) and a magical blacksmithing tool.  Not being so handy around the house, I would love to own a magical blacksmithing tool” (source: Thundercats Wiki).

Galvatron War for Cybertron G1 Transformers Custom

Adding to the War for Cybertron series, Jin Saotome resurrects this Custom G1 Galvatron done in Generation 1 styling.  Not appearing in the line up for the game, this figure is sure to be very sought after.  The colors really pop on this figure, especially the deep purple.  The scoring and weathering makes the figure look like he is fresh from battle.  The G1 coloring is a throw back to the 80′s Galvatron, with the addition of the large orange canon, the signature weapon of Galvatron.  What I really like about this figure is that no single body part seems to blend together as Jin has paid great attention to detail to ensure that each part of Galvatron stands out.  Let’s read more from Jin himself about this cool figure:

There are few moments when I am at a loss for words and this is one of them.  We have not seen much from Sabrina Ng in the last year but when she resurfaces, she comes out swinging and her Custom Masterforce Transformers Overlord figure hits it out of the ballpark!  Boasting 5 modes of transformation, this behemoth can change into a Tank, Jet, Tank and Jet, Base, and Robot:

I have heard of triple changers before but this is the first quintuple changer I have seen.  Here are some of the figures she used to create this masterpiece:

• Waist was redesigned from ROTF Jetfire and modified to fit Armada Tidalwave

Custom Transformers Movie Insecticon Figure

I am really hoping that the digital artists for the Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon movie are taking notes from the customizers out there because I could totally see this figure in the upcoming movie.  I am calling this figure from Jin Saotome a Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Insecitcon in hopes that this concept will make it into the movie.  This is a great concept for a movie figure and a literal translation of an Insecticon as it looks very much like a pesky fly.  I love the weathering and the metallic look of the figure as well as the LED light for the eye.  Jin is always great at marketing his figures so here is an excerpt from his Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Insecitcon description:

“This holiday everyone is getting a puppy, goldfish, cat, or even a pony (should you really want to spoil your daughter and own a ranch) for someone for Christmas. Well those pets are run of the mill sorts, why not treat that special someone to a really unique pet! Here we have a wild-caught Insecticon from the shimmering fields of Cybertron’s east sector. It’s about 5 inches long and has deep purple markings, brilliant metallic colors, dark shading, sparkling highlights, and a weathered, detailed look to its carapace that looks as if someone spent hours hand-painting the little guy. It’s eye lights up a bright orange and its head looks just about anywhere with the curiosity of a small earthly animal. Grim Hunter Custom Marvel Legends Figure

Boskoes Toys can really bring the comic book characters to life and their Custom Marvel Legends Grim Hunter is no exception.   Grim Hunter is a villain of Spider-Man and Boskoes really knows how to bring these comic book icons from the pages to plastic.  The clothing is very well done on this figure.  The techniques that Boskoes’ uses makes the plastic on the figure look flowing while the armor looks like metal.  The facial features and structure of the face is very realistic and the hair looks like it is flowing in the wind.  The accessory belt is a great touch that adds depth to the figure.  To check out more photos of Boskoes Toys Custom Marvel Legends Grim Hunter, head over to eBay!

G1 Human Alliance Jazz Custom

With a new larger scale Jazz in his hands, Frenzy.Rumble has taken an already amazing figure and given it a classic look with his Custom G1 Jazz Human Alliance figure.  Here is some background on this great figure from Frenzy.Rumble himself:

“Human Alliance Jazz is a remarkable figure. Hasbro has really outdone themselves with this larger, super accurate and detailed Jazz figure. When I first broke him out of his cardboard prison, he begged me to repaint him in his original Generation 1 color scheme. Remember, all paints used in the process were lacquer and enamel, so the finish is very durable, and the colors will stay vibrant and true for many many years (keep in mind, this is a collectible, so don’t throw it around!)”

Custom Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Starscream

It is great when customizers get their hands on a figure that is their favorite in the toy line and this is the case for Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Starscream figure.  He took a great figure and made it perfect.  Attention to detail is something that Frenzy.Rumble does very well.  For example, he removed the tattoos that did not appear on the Movie Starscream and redid them to make the figure as movie accurate as he could.  I also like small details and it is great to see that he put ball joints on the hands as this gives the figure the personality and poseability from the movie.  To see the level of detail and hard work that goes into these customs, check out the before and after shots:

Custom Transformers Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime

As of 2007, IDW produced a comic called Transformers ‘Evolutions: Hearts of Steel’ where the series was set sometime during the Industrial Revolution.  Thanks to famed Transformer artist Guido Guidi, he was able to redisign our favorite Transformers based on technology of the time period such as Optimus Prime as a locomotive, which brings us to our latest custom from Sabrina Ng with her Custom Transformers Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime figure.  For this figure, she has given it her signature paint aps where she can make plastic look like metal and she also has wired 8 LED’s throughout!  If you are a fan of Optimus Prime and locomotives, head over to eBay and check out Sabrina’s Custom Transformers Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime figure.  Here is what it looks like in locomotive form:

Custom Marvel Legends Darth Maul

Ever wonder what happened after Darth Maul fell down the shaft after getting bisecting by Obi Wan?  NTT has an theory on this with his latest Custom Marvel Legends Darth Maul figure.  Building on the Star Wars Visionaries comic, NTT depicts Darth Maul as a much meatier cyborg than the I have seen in concept art but that is what I like about it.  You can imagine Darth Sidious, in his haste, gathering the only parts he could find to quickly resurrect Darth Maul for more Sith missions.  This Darth Maul looks like he can do some real damage with those legs.  Although the gracefulness of the figure is somewhat overtaken by the large legs, Darth Maul still looks like he is a force to reckon with.

Custom Iron Man Mark VI Custom by Jin Saotome

Just a couple hours left to nab this awesome Custom Iron Man Mark VI figure by Jin Saotome!  Sometimes looks can be deceiving in this 3.5″ figure!  As Jin states, in his auction,

“…sometimes the easiest ‘planned’ customs turn out to be pretty hard. When I cracked open the light-up Mark VI 3 3/4″ Iron Man pieces went everywhere! There are multiple metal tabs that are held in place by the body and set against the main battery. Those had to be put back in, the LED swapped from orange to a blue one, and the leads bent to match the circuit. A few hours later I was actually able to get him back together and working! He was repainted like the 6″ figure that’s coming out as a Walmart exclusive and lights up bright blue now.”

What a great idea to replace the orange LED with a blue LED and the repainted figure looks worlds better than the original factory job.  Even the smallest of details make this figure shine!  For example, some of the figure is outlined in black (mouth, knees, eyes) and it is this subtle detail that makes this figure stand out among the rest.  Like I said before, just a couple hours left on this auction so head over to eBay and place a bid on Jin’s Custom Iron Man Mark VI figure and own a figure from a legend in the customizing community!

Cable Custom Marvel Legends X-Force Figure

Whether BoskoesToys is making Custom Transformers, Iron Man, or the multitude of figures they specialize in, they always do a stellar job and their Custom Marvel Legends X-Force Cable figure is no exception.  This figure looks downright mean and nasty and that large gun by his side compliments the figure’s demeanor.  BoskoesToys does exceptionally well at the finer details in figures.  The paint aps, for one, are amazing, and the addition of the black shading gives the figure depth and dimension.  For more photos and to place a bid on this great figure, head over to eBay and check out BoskoesToys’ Custom Marvel Legends X-Force Cable figure.

Winston Churchill World War 2 Alternate History Figure

World War 2 is my favorite period of history to learn and read about and Jin Saotome has flipped the history books upside down with his line of World Wars 2 Alternate History figure line.  I missed this figure last week so it is not available anymore but I thought I would do a retrospective right up on Jin’s Custom Winston Churchill GI Joe figure.  As you can see, this is not the same Winston Churchill from the 1940′s.  Let’s read more about how Jin has rewritten history:

“Though the assassination attempt utilizing an exploding tea chair left him only half the man he use to be, Churchill still found the courage to rise for battle. Custom Transformers G1 Drift

Frenzy.Rumble has a great figure up this week with his Custom Transformers G1 Drift figure.  Let’s read more about this one of a kind custom:

“This custom was a project I’ve wanted to complete for about a year now. Drift is a great character, and he’s never been given justice in any toy form. I took an Alternity (not Alternator) version of Megatron, swapped out the head, gave him a super shiny paint job, awesome vehicle graphics, chrome custom built swords (x2), articulated hands, and a super detailed metallic paint job on all his robot parts. The Japanese text on his doors reads “Drift”.”

It is great to see figures other than the most popular ones as this gives collectors a chance to branch out and complete their collections with one of a kind customs that you will never see on the shelf.  Great work!

Custom Transformers 'The Junction' Thomas the Tank Engine Combiner

When I first saw this custom from Frenzy.Rumble, I really did not know what to think at first.  As I looked closer, I realized that this was not just a repaint of a G1 Transformers combiner but a totally new idea that Frenzy.Rumble had come up with.  If anyone has kids, they will appreciate his Custom Transformers ‘The Junction’ Combiner made from Thomas and Friends trains.  I always thought that the Thomas show was a bit odd but the toys were great and kids love them!  Frenzy.Rumble is great at putting imagination in motion and his latest figure is no exception.  To view more photos, head over to eBay and check out his Custom Transformers ‘The Junction’ Combiner figure.

Custom Marvel Legends Lion-O

BoskoesToys has created a great homage to one of the coolest figures and toy lines with their Custom Marvel Legends Lion-O figure.  What is great about this figure is that there is so much detail and the addition of the bear skin cloak really completes the figure.  Like every one of Boskoes’ customs, they pour everything they got into each figure and this Lion-O is no exception.  The way they applied the paint aps on this one gives the figure such depth and character.  When I was a kid, I used to mingle my toy lines and this Thundercats figure would be a great addition to your Masters of the Universe collection as well so head over to eBay and check out Boskoes’ Custom Marvel Legends Lion-O figure.

Custom Transformers Animated Kup

Sometimes things happen for a reason and due to a buyer backing out on a commission, Frenzy.Rumble has placed his first venture into the Transformers Animated series with his Custom Transformers Animated Kup figure.  The Animated Optimus Prime was the perfect base for Kup as the figure looks a lot like the Generation 1 figure with the Cybertronian design.  To tell us more about this figure, here is what Frenzy.Rumble wrote:

“This is my first dive (and a little late) into the Transfomer’s Animated series. Originally, this was a commissioned project, but the buyer backed out (before seeing the pictures) and (lucky for you) he is now available through this auction. Thanks to the great customizer ”Shinobitron” for the idea/concept of this guy. Kup started as an Animated Optimus Prime. I removed the exhaust stacks on his forearms, made the truck roof attach on to his back in robot form, added rotation articulation to his hands. The head started as an Animated Jetfire head, completely resculpted the chin, mouth, and more. Also filled in many hollow areas and screw holes with Ave’s Fixit.Please check out the list of add-ons and modifications made to this custom.”

Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Devastator

One of the coolest scenes in Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was when Devastator violently combined into the huge robot that tore apart the pyramids in Egypt.  Crefigz has taken this monster and applied his signature techniques to his Custom Transformers ROTF Devastator.  A very funny scene in the movie was when Agent Simmons was standing beneath the wrecking “balls” of Devastator and Crefigz even added this detail from the movie.  This is a great looking figure and you can see more photos over at eBay and check out Crefigz’s  Custom Transformers ROTF Devastator.

Custom Henkei Transformers Shockwave

Sabrina Ng is at it again with a fully loaded Custom Transformers Henkei Shockwave.  What I love about this figure is that it looks like the G1 classic figure in robot mode and in alternate mode he looks like a  futuristic battle station.  Let’s read more about this great custom:

“Up for grabs today is Henkei Shockwave. Armed to the teeth and more. He was also modified at his back with a small hook to prevent him from toppling. Those with the shockblast figure should know what I mean. Rare earth magnets were used for the weapon add-ons. Shockwave is able to pose freely with his weapons. As usual, Shockwave was protected with Anti-UV clear and will last you for a long time to come!”

Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Megatron

Crefigz is back with a kick ass version of the leader of the Decepticons with his highly detailed Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Megatron.  This has to be one of the most detailed Megatrons I have seen thus far from the ROTF line.  If you look at the photo above, there is scoring, many levels of paint shading and he even added molding to Megatron’s head to achieve a more movie like look.  Pictures do tell a thousand words so head over to eBay and view the many photos he has over on his Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Megatron page.

Avatar AMP Mech Suit with Colonel Miles Quaritch

Frenzy.Rumble, who is best known for his Custom Transformers, has given the Avatar movie some attention with his Custom AMP Mech Suit with Colonel Miles Quaritch.  I had the opportunity to see the movie in IMAX 3D and I must say it was well worth it.  I am usually not into 3D movies but the effects were very well done (and not overdone).  One of the vehicles in the movie allowed the soldiers to venture out on the planet Pandora to do some major damage.  Let’s read more about how Frenzy.Rumble was inspired to do this vehicle:

“What an amazing film! On my way home from seeing this awesome movie, I decided to make a quick stop at a toy store and pick up some of the movie’s toys. I started the customization process by fixing some of the weaker articulation. I proceeded to add some battle damage, and created/added a strap for the gun. I used a durable special chrome lacquer paint for the AMP’s joints and gun parts.”

G1 Optimus Prime Revenge of the Fallen Custom

It has been a while since Sabrina Ng has listed a custom on eBay but her latest G1 Transformers Optimus Prime is well worth the wait.  Let’s get up speed on what Sabrina has been up to:

“I had been practicing with new techniques and perfecting existing ones. Officially introducing Starburst Metallics.  This breakthrough technique allows me to achieve a higher colour saturation as compared to conventional techniques. Trust me when I say that the custom looks way better in real life than what the pictures can say. Deeper and more virbrant hues regardless of the colour that I am using.

For this version of G1 Prime, I literally dropped his whole silver stripe concept and decided on giving him an updated look. I wanted Prime to look more majestic thus the gold chrome on the front of his truck. He was airbrushed, detailed, shaded, dry brushed, chromed, blue LED modded and protected by a special anti UV component.”

Ark Autobot Charity Auction for the Make a Wish Foundation Spotlight: Ratchet (Article 8 of 11)

Up next in the Ark Autobot series is Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom G1 Ratchet.  According to Frenzy.Rumble, “Ratchet’s factory paints were removed, then painted wtih a high gloss lacquer white. He was detailed using Testors Model Master Enamels.”  This figure also pays homage to the G1 style of Ratchet but in a more updated look and feel.

Custom Toxic Zombie Jetfire

Halloween brings out another side in customers.  I am used to seeing the Marvel Legends figures done up Zombie style but this is the first Transformers figure I have seen done this way and I have to say I am liking it!  To commemorate Halloween 2009, Frenzy.Rumble has created this one of a kind Custom Toxic Zombie Transformers Jetfire figure.  What you are seeing in the photo above is not an optical illusion but a “special mix of paint and micoscopic beads to create the ‘toxic slime’ effect” that glows in the dark.  This figure looks awesome in robot mode as well so if you want to view more photos, head over to eBay and check out Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom Toxic Zombie Transformers Jetfire figure.

Shockwave Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Figure

What I love about BoskoesToys is that they are always striving to create new figures for toy lines and there latest Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Shockwave figure is no exception.  I agree with Boskoes when they said it is a shame that Shockwave did not make it into the movie but if it did, Hasbro would have made a terrible figure so we need people like Boskoes to introduce old characters that did not get any screen time.  The alternate mode is very interesting as they made this figure transform into a Power Station:

Lion-O Thundercats Custom Marvel Legends Figure

BoskoesToys does many toy lines really well and their Custom Marvel Legends Thundercats Lion-O figure is no exception.  They have a knack for capturing the true spirit of the original Thundercats cartoon figures with a fresh, updated figure.  I have to agree with Boskoes when they say that this is their best recipe for a Lion-O figure they have made to date.  Some of my favorite parts of this custom include the Sword of Omens, which was Lion-O’s right hand weapon.  The hair and the face are spot on to the classic series character and the seriousness of the expression on his face give the figure a heroic personality.  If you want to know what other special character this figure comes with, head over to eBay and check out BoskoesToys’ Custom Marvel Legends Thundercats Lion-O figure.

Revenge of the Fallen Kickback Custom

It takes a keen eye and a ton of creativity to take a character who only got 3 minutes of airtime in a movie and turn him into an instant G1 classic figure.  Jin Saotome has created this Custom Revenge of the Fallen G1 Kickback out of a Sideways figure and the result is simply amazing.  From using the car windows as wings to the black, purple, and yellow color scheme, this figure can fit into either the G1 or the ROTF line with no problem at all!  Let’s read more about how Jin customized this one:

“Well he’s back and deadlier than ever, transformed into the Insecticon Kickback! He has been painstakingly detailed by hand with a deep glossy black paint job, metallic highlights, brilliant shades of color, and intricate detail that will really make him stand out in your Transformers collection. Transform him or pose him any way you want, just take care when doing so as there a lot of moving parts to him. Kickback even has his trademark antennae but you can remove them if you want the slim-headed look”

The Fallen Custom Transformers 2 Figure

The Fallen is still one of my favorite figures from the Transformers 2 movie and Frenzy.Rumble was worked his magic, skill, and expertise with this Custom Transformers ROTF The Fallen figure.  The painting technique looks like this figure is glowing molten red.  To see how Frenzy.Rumble achieves this look, here is a little more on the types of paint he uses:

“All paints used in the process were lacquer and enamel, so the finish is very durable, and the colors will stay vibrant and true for many many years. (Keep in mind, this is a collectible, so don’t throw it around!)  I finished him off with several finishes of Testor’s clear coats, matte, semi-gloss, and gloss variations to keep the colors vibrant and true for years and years. I ensure the highest and most durable paint applications on all my customs. I exceed necessary preparation to these customs – Special plastic adhering primers, automotive grade lacquers and the best paints around to detail with.”

Boskoes is bringing some G1 style to the Revenge of the Fallen line with his Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Galvatron figure.  I really love the direction they took this figure as the paint aps are in the right places and they were able to salvage a mediocre Hasbro figure and turn it into a great piece that will fit nicely with your Revenge of the Fallen line.  Let’s hear more from Boskoes on how Galvatron was created:

“Definitely one of my favorite pieces we’ve done. We started out with a ROTF Leader Class Megatron and disabled the sound function so he no longer says ” I am Megatron”. We kept all the light up functions, which can still be activated by either pulling down the switch in his chest or by moving his giant arm cannon. As you can see we gave him a different head, but it has the exact same articulation as the Original Megatron head (still moves up ‘n down and side to side- and eyes still light up). The only other mod we gave him is an exchangable arm which attaches easily, but fits on great and is very sturdy. Nothing we did here gets in the way of the original Transformation into Tank mode.

Lastly paint- we hit him with a mix of purple candy shell and a darker lightly metalic purple using raw silver for some well placed dings and scuffs. On his legs and treads we used a combo of flat and gloss grays, tinted primer, silvers coppers and rust. The list could go on for a bit, but I’ll just leave it saying, I really really like the paint on this one.”

Cobra Commander in GI Joe Armor

With all of the money in the world, Cobra Commander is taking things into his own hands and has contracted the talent of Jin Saotome to build him a suit of armor capable of opening a can of whoop ass on GI Joe.  This Custom Cobra Commander in GI Joe Armor is an excellent figure and very well executed.  I love the Gatling Gun on the right arm and the interchangeable claw…very cool!  Let’s read more and see how Jin describes this figure:

“You’ve never seen Cobra Commander like this before, he’s upgraded his battle armor to something bigger and better! This Combat Armor suit with multiple attaching parts and can be posed in all sorts of battling positions. He’s been painted to match your existing custom 25th Anniversary Joes and features plenty of shading, rich colors, and awesome detail. Attach the grappling claw or blast away with the chain cannon. Either way the Joes will be in for the fight of their life here!”

Alternity Megatron Custom

The Nissan Z is a sweet ride and Sabrina Ng has put her showroom shine on this Custom Transformers Alternity Megatron Binaltech figure.  The paint aps on the figure brings out the detail and gives Megatron the much needed personality.  The original figure looked really muted ad boring but Sabrina knows just where to place the right colors to make the figure pop.   This figure is the first in a long line of Alternators coming from Sabrina so be sure to head over to eBay and check out her Custom Transformers Alternity Megatron Binaltech figure because there are more great figures to come!

First, let me start off by saying that all of the proceeds from this auction go to will go 100% to a Singapore charity of choice by the TF.SG Fans site.  Sabrina Ng is based in Singapore so I have a treat for all of you rest of world fans out there who are not searching the eBay Singapore site.  She has listed this Custom Transformers G1 ROTF Ravage on the eBay Singapore site so I encourage everyone to bid this one up because it is for charity!  This custom possesses some aspects of the Generation 1 style with the hind leg mounted cannons and black and silver styling.  Sabrina makes the most amazing customs as her paint detailing is top notch so check out her Custom Transformers G1 ROTF Ravage figure here as you will not be able to see this if you search the regular ebay.com website.

You don’t see this very often but when two customizers collaborate and put their skills together, there can only be a great result.  Sabrina Ng’s metallic paint skills and Thyvipera’s engineering join forces to create this Custom Transformers G1 Menasor Combiner.  This figure is stunning!  What I like about Sabrina and Thyvipera is they give credit where credit is due and they call out some great customizers as inspiration:

I’m honestly very tempted to even call this a Henkei Version of Menasor. But before I continue further, credit must be given to those that have embarked on similar projects before. Some of them include Frenzy_Rumble, Ptitvite, Malfunction, Crefigz among the many talented artists out there. This custom colloboration is the product of Thyvipera’s engineering as well as my metallic paint applications. Menasor consists of the 5 Stunticons. Each Stunticon has been lovingy customized to perfection. Without further ado, let me elaborate on some of the more interesting mods done to the figure.

On the heals of Frenzy.Rumble’s ROTF Devastator comes his Custom Revenge of the Fallen Jolt figure.  What I love about Frenzy.Rumble’s creativity is that he is always thinking of ways to make things better beyond a paint app.  Here are some examples of this from his current figure:

- Head modified allowing it to have more range of movement
- Working dual “electro-whips” easily attach to back of figure with easy to access on/off buttons. The batteries are also easily changeable.
- Sparking light up chest – with transparent blue plastic; small button inside activates blinking light display (see video below for demonstration) Batteries are also accessible for change if ever needed.

It was only a matter of time before this behemoth of a Transformers hit the scene and I am happy to see that one of my favorite customizers taking on this challenge.  If you follow Frenzy.Rumble on Twitter and put 2 and 2 together, you could have guessed that he was working this Custom Revenge of the Fallen Devastator Transformers figure.  When Devastator formed in the movie, it was one of the highlights for me and it is great to see that Frenzy.Rumble has give each of the six figures his undivided attention to make this figure the work of art that it is.  Some of my favorite parts of this custom are the added articulation in key areas and the ability for the vortex to stay open like in the movie.  Make the jump to eBay to see Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom Revenge of the Fallen Devastator Transformers figure in all its glory!

Jin Saotome is well known for his highly modded and detailed customs and his latest Custom Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe is no exception.  The paint aps are not only amazing, but he added extra hoses and even scratch built his blades to make them more movie accurate.  This is one of the best Sideswipes I have seen to date from the ROTF line.  Here is more details from Jin himself:

“He’s been given the detail treatment folks, the paint job for my RotF customs is more complex than anything I’ve done before and includes airbrushed shading, weathered detail, blended shades of color, highlights, oil/grease splatter, metallic toning, and more. All this culminates to a super realistic look of a professional miniature model and Sideswipe is no exception here. Included are two new removable arm blades that look more like the ones he sports in the movie, cutting Sideways in half on screen. They are scratch built with sharp pointy tips so take care when attaching them. Various hoses and extra detailing has been added to Sideswipe including fixing his feet to look more movie accurate. He still stands just fine and you can adjust the heel-spurs in the back to allow him different sliding poses!”

Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom Revenge of the Fallen Power Up Optimus Prime is ending today in 4 hours!  This is the most viewed custom I have seen in a very long time.  It is about the break the 15K view mark so head over there and place a bid while you still can!

I still am not tired of writing about the Revenge of the Fallen customs and this week, Sabrina Ng has a great figure with some special mods up for sale with her Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Ravage figure.  Not only does this figure have a paint finish that rivals some cars out there, but there are some special twists.  First, she added an LED to the eye (very cool feature) and if that is not enough, she even went as far as thinking how the light turns on and off.  Let me give you a hint, it has to do with the chain so head over to eBay and check out her Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Ravage figure to find out how it works!

Resurrected from the depths of the Laurentian Abyss, Crefigz has an excellent version of the leader of the Decepticons with his Custom ROTF Megatron figure.  I am very impressed with the way this figure has been painted.  For example, he has made the metal look worn and warped, like Megatron has been sitting on the bottom of the ocean waiting for someone to rekindle his spark.  There are some great additions and mods to this figure, which include a crystal added to Megatron’s blaster and ball joint for his hand.  Crefigz is excellent at layering on the paint to make the figure look as realistic as possible so head over to eBay and check out more photos of his Custom ROTF Megatron figure.

*Spoiler Alert*

Another high point on the Revenge of the Fallen movie was when Sam used the Matrix to bring Optimus back to life and Jetfire sacrificed himself for spare parts so that Prime could fend off and defeat the The Fallen.  Frenzy.Rumble has captured this aspect of the movie in super high detail with his Custom Revenge of the Fallen Power Up Optimus Prime figure, which uses Leader Class Prime and Jetfire figures.  Another favorite figure for me was Jetfire and although I have not spotted any figures in retail stores, I will be keeping my eyes out that one as it looks cool.  The one thing I really love about all of Frenzy.Rumble’s is that he makes excellent choices with repsect to paint apps and modifications.  It seems like the mods are all in the right places and the paint aps are bullet proof.  I can’t possibly write about all of the amazing aspects of this figure so here is Frenzy.Rumble to tell you more about it:

Optimus Prime Modifications and Details
- “Truck Mode” flames were meticulously “traced” on computer using oversized images of the real truck, printed and sized accordingly, then processed and plotted onto high performance vinyl creating perfect stencils. The flames were then air brushed and hand pin-striped.
- Real chrome paint on front grill, bumper, exhausts, rims and other areas. Protected with industrial strength clear coat via air brush.
- Extra accessories fitted; chrome rear view mirrors and exhaust pipes, red and blue wiring on the back of the cab.
- Fully articulated hands with rotation at the wrists (allowing him to hold bonus items to be seen later….)
- Ultra shiny and durable lacquer paints used.

Jetfire Modifications and Details
- Meticulously detailed, every wire, gear, detail…. painted to look like the real deal.
- 5mm ultra-bright blue LED lights added to his jet turbines which are activated through reliable switches.
- Arm “kibble” modified so that it is removable, giving his robot form a much more accurate appearance.
- Articulated fingers and hands with rotation at the wrists. The ”out of box” Jetfire has “fused fingers”
- Ultra matte finish on his alt mode ; SR-71 Blackbird.
- Modified head allowing him to look right and left

Power-Up Prime
- Added jet wings to his lower legs and chest
- Fixed the shoulder pads to better resemble the on-screen and concept art.
- Added parts to his feet to give a more accurate look to the on-screen and concept art.
- Created “alternate” transformation sequence to really make him one-of-kind and more movie accurate.

Having just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey and 2010: The Year We Made Contact, I was drawn to NTT figure because of it’s cosmic nature and how well NTT translated the concept art into reality.  His Custom Marvel Legends Icon Eternity figure is well put together and captures the comic version of the figure very well.  I actually like this version much better as the pictures I have seen of the concept art drown out the face and in NTT translation, the face stands out much more, which makes it more interesting.  This is a 12″ figure and it looks like a piece of cosmic art so head over to eBay and check out more photos of NTT’s Custom Marvel Legends Icon Eternity figure.

Arguably the funniest Autobot duo to debut, Frenzy.Rumble has these two protector comedians up this week with his Custom Mudflap and Skidz Revenge of the Fallen custom figures.  Here are some of the modifications and highlights you can expect for these figures:

“For Skids, I made some changes to the way his transformation works. His head now moves more freely while in robot mode, allowing full articulation. I’ve also added a major overhaul to the alt (car) mode, to better represent the actual car. This included some work on the front lights, running boards, and tail lights. Mudflap’s shoulder have been modified to better position his arms. His head was also “fixed up” a bit to allow more articulation, his car mode was also completely revamped to appear more like the real deal.”

What a huge opening weekend to the Revenge of the Fallen movie and one customizer has been pretty busy gearing up for the release.  This week, I am featuring Sabrina Ng’s custom ROTF line up as she has many of the great figures up for sale this week.  All of the figures are excellently detailed with Sabrina’s own style and interpretation of the color pallet.  Let’s take a look at the line up:

I have said it before and I will say it again…these are the figures that should have been made for the Revenge of the Fallen Movie!  Not only is Frenzy.Rumble keeping himself busy, he is going above and beyond the call of duty and this Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Optimus Prime is yet another example of his talent.  The paint aps are stunning and I urge you to head over to eBay and check out more photos of this stellar looking Optimus Prime.

Soundwave’s dog has come a long way since the little puppy we saw wreak havoc on the Autobots in the 80′s.  This week, Frenzy.Rumble applies his magic and talent and created this Custom Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Ravage figure.  The paint aps on this figure look like metal and the detailing brings out the intricate robotic parts of this great figure.  To read more about the quality that Frenzy.Rumble pours into each figure, check out his process below:

Enter…RAVAGE, a minion of Soundwave and Decepticon spy. All paints used in the process were 100% enamel, so the finish is very durable, and the colors will stay vibrant and true for many many years. (Keep in mind, this is a collectible, so don’t throw it around!)  I finished him off with several finishes of Testor’s clear coats, matte, semi-gloss, and gloss variations to keep the colors vibrant and true for years and years. I ensure the highest and most durable paint applications on all my customs. I exceed necessary preparation to these customs – Special plastic adhering primers, automotive grade lacquers and the best paints around to detail with.

The Fallen from the new Transformers Revenge of the Fallen line has to be one of my favorite looking toys to date for the Movie line.  Frenzy.Rumble has taken the stock Hasbro figure and turned it into a work of art.  His Custom Transformers ROTF ‘The Fallen’ figure is actually the second figure he has done for the line (I think he forgot he did an ROTF Soundwave in December 2008).  I love the finish on the figure as it makes the orange accents pop on the figure and appear that the colors are running through the figure.  Let’s hear more about this figure from Frenzy.Rumble himself:

Frenzy.Rumble has a pair of Decepticon troublemakers up for sale this week with his Custom G1 Transformers Battle Chargers figures.  It is cool when customizers create figures that mean something to them because you know that extra care has gone into them to make them the very best they could be.  I am happy to see these two together in this auction because one would not look right without the other.  Let’s learn more about these cool figures from Frenzy.Rumble himself:

I customized these twins with a more modern spin. Both Runabout and Runamuck are included in this auction, as well as some great bonus items coming later this week. This mischievious Decepticon Battlecharger Duo is a must have for any Transformer fan. Some cool features of these figures include:

Sabrina Ng is downsizing this week but this little guy is packed with all of the skill and love she puts into every custom.  Her THS-01 Optimus Prime Custom Transformers figure is very highly detailed and from what she said was very difficult to customize due to the size.  Let’s read more about shy she decided to make this great figure:

“I’m pretty reluctant to let my Henkei line end this week. So I decided to do up this little gem for this week’s auction. Rare and beautiful, THS-01. Made of diecast, this 4.3 inch gorgeous is definitely a must have for every Transformers fan. Not only that, he is now fully customized for display. That literally makes him a pretty unique collectible. I can honestly say that this is my favourite toy of all time. And for all you Transformer lovers out there, do not miss a chance to own this one and only THS-01. He is sooooooo hard to customize due to his size. Thus there will not be a ’2nd one’ out there in the market. I’ve also included an Actual Galaxy Force Convoy in one of my pictobrowser slide pictures as comparison. Sabrina Ng has a double agent up this week with her Custom Henkei Transformers Punch Counterpunch figure.  This highly updated version retains the classic yellow and blue color scheme but with a more intense focus on deeper, rich colors.  What I love about Sabrina’s customs is that you just don’t get a straight repaint but you get her interpretation of the classic style, which is more artistic and one of a kind.  As of now, she also has a special bonus item that comes with this figure so head over to eBay and see what it is…

Jin Saotome is beefing up the Halo army with his Custom Halo Recon Spartan figure.  Halo was a game that made me buy an XBOX so it is great to see Jin paying homage to this great game in this way.  Here is more about this figure:

There is nothing mini about this minibot!  Shinobitron has brought back to life a G1 classic with his Custom Transformers Gears figure.   He has made a Deluxe figure that stands 6″ tall and this figure really captures the classic nature of Gears with an updated look.  Still donning the classic red and blue paint scheme, this figure looks great and will fit in very nicely with your other G1 or customs Transformers.  To see a photo of Gears posing with Spiderman, head over to eBay and check out Shinobitron’s Custom Transformers Gears figure.

Frenzy.Rumble has a one of a kind creation up this week with his Custom Transformers Autobot X figure.  He also refers to this figure as Autobot Spike but nonetheless, it is an amazing piece that shows off his talent and creativity.  To give us the run down of the features of this awesome figure, here is Frenzy.Rumble:

- Roughly 50 points of articulation and/or moving parts!
- Head’s  scratch built, using a Sigma 6 Joe face, refined and “chiseled” then building the rest around it with clay and styrene.
- Eyes light up thanks to a small LED inside his head. Also harnessed in his head is the battery pack and switch on back. The batteries are easily accessible and replaceable.
- Head sits on a ball joint.
- Porsche shoulder on his right is cut and reshaped from a die cast model.
- On his back are opening rocket packs. They swing open and the rocket/engine slides down and out.
- In his chest is a sound chips, triggered by a small button on his back. The sound chip plays the ”transformation noise.”
- His upper right arm has a small door which opens to reveal gears inside.
- His lower right arm has a small door also, which reveals a canon (shown later)
- Right Hand is from MP Prime (man that hurt cutting him up for this, but the size was perfect)
- Left upper arm “post thing” up top near his shoulder is on a hinge, allowing that arm to extend to any position (if it remained sticking straight up, it would collide with the shoulder)
- Door on back right is from a second die cast model car, the mirror is real glass (what?)
- Lower left arm has red laser light inside it, pressing the front of this forearm illuminated the canon’s recessed areas, canon tip, and 2 small holes on the sides of the forearms.
- Right leg bottom has scratch-built working hydraulic.
- He’s over 11″ tall

Sabrina Ng, with her latest in her Henkei series, puts a new look on a on friend with her Custom Transformers Henkei Nemesis Prime figure.  Sometimes, it is the little things that mean a lot, especially when it comes to Sabrina’s customs as her figures are packed full of the smallest of detail.  I love the purple accents on this figure.  They are in the right places, along with the Decepticon symbols flanking the shoulders of Nemesis Prime.  Color is very important on figures and Sabrina has decided to share a tip with everyone:

“What you see on him is not black but a special mixture of gloss grey, patiently layered until this specific colour was derived. Why not black you ask? Well, black is firstly a very common colour and that it tends to be overly harsh on a vehicle. Unless absolutely necessary, I try to stay clear of black.”

It is really great to see teamwork and I could not ask for two better people to put their skills to the test and collaborate to form one of the greatest customs I have seen.  Frenzy.Rumble and Sabrina Ng bring you their Custom Transformers Devastator G1 Combiner figure, which displays talents from both Frenzy.Rumble and Sabrina Ng.  Frenzy Rumble, with his sculpting and keen eye for design, combined with Sabrina Ng’s bullet proof paint aps, have created one of the most sought after customs I have seen in a long time.  I am struck by the attention to detail in the design of this Devastator and it looks like no aspect was left untouched.  Let’s read more about how this collaboration got started from Frenzy.Rumble:

“Blown away by the talented painting of fellow artist Sabrina Ng and her custom Transformer auctions, we got in contact with one another. We decided to collaborate our skills, talents, and passions to bring you this “Anniversary Edition” Devastator custom Transformer. It was built by me some time ago, and he was shipped and took a little vacation in Singapore. While there, Sabrina painted and gave him her magical touch. Devastator was then sent back the the United States where I did some minor engineering updates, installed the electronics and took his photos.”

Who can turn a mediocre Animated Transformers into a killer looking SWAT vehicle?  Jin Saotome can with his Custom Transformers Animated Payload figure made from Bulkhead.  Jin has totally changed the look of Bulkhead and made him into a Decepticon.  What a great addition to your Transformers Animated collection.

“If you remember the Transformers movie version of Payload, he was an armored truck that I turned into a SWAT vehicle before. Well here’s an Animated Payload based on that theme, an armored police vehicle of sorts. He has a great paint job that has all sorts of battle worn shading, highlights, and metallic effects so he’ll fit right in to your Transformers collection. Check out those claws, they’re articulated and can be used to pick up his Autobot enemies! You can transform him into his alt mode that resembles an armored police vehicle compete with custom decals and effects.”

Shinobitron possesses the great skill of taking great looking Animated Transformers figures and turning them into cool crossovers with his Custom Transformers Blur Batman Beyond figure.  Blur is a great choice of figures for this crossover.  The head is sculpted to look like the Batman Beyond counterpart but the coolest aspect of this figure is that it transforms into the Batmobile but you will have to head over to eBay to view that shot!

There is so much detail in Sabrina Ng’s Custom Masterpiece Grimlock figure.  This is one of my favorite customs she has done to date.  The colors really pop on this figure and if you look at the image below, you can see all of the intricate detail she puts into each and every figure:

One aspect of the Star Wars universe is that we got to see the evolution in armor from the Clone Wars to Revenge of the Sith and daveSstation Creations has a great looking Custom Clone Wars Animated Shock Trooper to feast your eyes on this week.  Yesterday, I wrote an article about his Custom Order 66 AT TE so this figure would be a perfect addition to your collection if you were to bid on that or just add another great figure to your collection.  The markings on the Shock Trooper are well done and the color is perfect to fit in with the ROTS Troopers.  daveSstation Creations has really filled a void in the Animated Clone Wars line so head over to eBay and place a bid on his Custom Clone Wars Animated Shock Trooper figure.

daveSstation Creations is back with another awesome AT TE with his Custom Order 66 Mustafar AT TE.  He already has a Kashyyk and a Snow version and this is my favorite one to date!  First, the Shock Troopers are my favorite of the clones that I was introduced to in Revenge of the Sith and what a way to honor them by giving them a custom ride.  The colors are perfect for this AT TE as this would blend in with the terrain of the lava planet.  No detail was spared in this AT TE!  I love the Mandalorian logos all over the vehicle he chose the perfect shade of red for this one.  Rounding out this awesome custom is an Animated Clone Wars figure decked out in Shock Trooper detail:

I love Sabrina Ng’s Henkei series as she is the only customizer out there doing them consistently, which will make these very sought after.  She is winding down her Henkei series and she has a great one this week with her Custom Henkei Grimlock figure.  She possesses the skill to blend and apply paint like I have never seen and the golds and the silvers really work well together and they are in the right places.  Let’s hear more about this great figure:

“Grimlock was an interesting character to handle. Not only is he not a vehicle, he was always depicted as a dull coloured grey in the G1 line. Grimlock was painted a shade of glossy grey by mixing highly diluted black with super clear gloss. His red at the torse was derived from a custom blend of red that is heavier than my usual glossy red colours”

As Mel Brooks said in the movie, The History of the World Part 1, “it is good to the King!” and for a Captain in the Clone Wars, this equates to getting your own rig modeled after your body armor.  I was excited when I first got my hands on the AT TE and daveSstation Creation has taken it to the next level with his Custom Clone Wars Captain Rex AT TE snow vehicle.  I am very impressed with the attention to detail and the craftsmanship that he put into this AT TE.  First of all, I am a huge military historian and I am very please to see the “decals including some skulls along cab representing missions and a couple others custom decals on rear panels straight…representing assault and heavy artillery.”  The old style deco of the tanks from the armored divisions and the planes from the navy made sure to decorate their vehicles and planes with their respective core markings and this AT TE, in my opinion, is a great homage to that era.

The paint aps looks flawless and I am sure this baby looks amazing in person.  It is great to see such creativity grace the AT TE and daveSstation Creation has done a stellar job imagining the world where this behemoth of a vehicle fits into the Clone Wars universe.  To view more photos and to place a bid on this bad boy, head over to eBay and check out his Custom Clone Wars Captain Rex AT TE snow vehicle.

Back in the 80′s, Astrotrain was an interesting concept is was one of the first triple changing Transformers.  Sabring Ng, continuing her Henkei series, brings this awesome version of this triple changer to life with her Custom Henkei Astrotrain.  I love the way the figure mould turned out but the colors were very wrong on the original figure, which Sabrina has solved with her stellar paint ap and color choice.  I have not thought about this before but painting this figure must be like painting a car.  Take a look at what Sabrina has to say about how she pulled off the striping of this figure:

“Astrotrain’s a tricky fella being the first triple changer that I’ve worked with. His white stripes was painstakingly taped and airbrushed on. His glossy grey was achieved through a very light shade of highly diluted black.”

Continuing her Henkei custom line, Sabrina Ng puts paint to plastic with one of my favorites from the G1 era with her Custom Transformers Henkei Sunstreaker figure.  I have to hand it to her because every custom she does comes out so flawless.  In vehicle mode, the paint job is so smooth and glossy, it is hard to believe that this is a toy as the photo looks like it belongs in a showroom.  Not only does she have the skill to paint flawlessly but she also can mod the figure to put that finishing touch on it.  For example, she swapped out the fists for some better looking ones.  To view more photos, head over to eBay!

Pulling out all the stops and literally going for gold, Frenzy.Rumble has outdone himself and 24 karat gold painted various parts of this exclusive Custom Masterpiece MP-08 Grimlock figure.  Just to be clear, all of the gold details on Frenzy.Rumble’s Grimlock (excluding his chest) are real gold lead, which is 24 karat.  Let’s outline the other details of this figure:

- Small button changes the eye colors of Grimlock’s robot mode AND dinosaur mode (red or blue)
- Button “snaps” his mouth closed
- Red LED light in hand light up his energon sword (included) and energon blaster (also included) through small button on his shoulder
- Several parts on this custom are die cast
- Tail swivels and connects to neck in dinosaur mode

This giant masterpiece figure has been air brushed with automotive primer. Layers of lacquer and enamel paints ensure the BEST possible paint to withstand transformation and usage. Every detail has been meticulously painted and highlighted. He was primed with a special plastic adhering primer, base coated (via air brush) with a strong enamel based neutral gray. He was then coated with lacquer based gray, then coated with a metallic clear coat – finally sealed with Testor’s “dull coat” sealer. Grimlock’s paint is VERY durable, strong and colorfast (will retain it’s hue for MANY years and is immune to UV damage).

Seriously, this paint ap looks phenomenal so don’t miss you chance to own this one of a kind Custom Masterpiece MP-08 Grimlock figure that is decked out in 24 karat gold accents.

Crefigz applies his mad skills to this popular Decepticon with his Custom Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave figure.  I have seen the original paint scheme from Hasbro and I have to say that Crefigz’ version is 1000% improved and not even in the same league.  He pays homage to the 80′s figure with some of the blues throughout the figure.  I can’t wait for the mass release of these figures because if Crefigz’ work is a prelude to the great things to come, sign me up!  Crefigz has one of the most stellar painting techniques I have come across so if you want a figure with a paint scheme that is above and beyond anything you will ever see, head over to eBay and check out his Custom Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave figure.

Sixth in her series of Henkei figures, Sabrina Ng works her magic with one of my favorite G1 characters with her Custom Henkei Transformers Hound and Ravage figures.  Being a military history fan, I was drawn to Hound as he is a military jeep decked out in classic olive green, which Sabrina has captured quite nicely!  I love the additions of the gold stripes and modded fists, which puts a nice finishing touch on the figure.  Sabrina’s style makes plastic shine like a new car (although without the new car smell) so if you want a figure from one of the best, head over to eBay and check out her Custom Henkei Transformers Hound and Ravage figures.

Hot on the heels of his Custom G1 Inferno come Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom G1 Transformers Universe Grapple figure.  Hasbro is known for taking a toy and making many paint variations and modifications to it and Grapple and Inferno (along with Ironhide and Ratchet) were no exceptions so I was very happy to see figure.  I think Frenzy.Rumble nailed the yellow color and did an excellent job with constructing the hook and hydraulic crane.  He also added some great effects which you can view below:

Sabrina’s 5th installment in her Henkei series features this stunning Custom Optimus Prime figure.  She nailed the color red on this one.  The richness of the colors always amazes me coupled with the deep blues and greys completes the figure.  One aspect that I love about her customs is the shading she puts into the figures, giving them a realistic metal look.  She also has her 4th installment up on eBay as well so head over there and check out her custom Henkei Transformers figures.

Frenzy.Rumble just made a great addition to his Custom Transformers Universe Inferno figure by adding the classic Generation 1 style ladder.  I don’t know why this was not part of the original design but it is customizers like Frenzy.Rumble that do the jobs the toy companies fail to do year after year.

Always ahead of the curve, Jin Saotome has a treat in store for Killzone fanatics with this Custom Helghast Soldier from the upcoming Killzone 2 video game.  This figure is made from GI Joe 25th Anniversary line and I guarantee that you will never see anything like this come out of that line with this level of detail.  Since these figures are in 3 3/4″ scale, it is really difficult to get very detailed with these figures but Jin manages to pull it off with ease.  Let’s hear more about this great figure from Jin himself:

“Straight out of the upcoming Killzone 2 game comes the Helghast soldier, your basic trooper in their war against humanity. This trooper is painted with an exceptional level of detail such as deep shadows, grimy highlights, and metallic battle weathering. I think the Thudercats are a very under represented toy line as far as customs goes but BoskoesToys always seems to give them some love and there current offering this week is awesome!  Check out there Custom Marvel Legends Thundercats lot, which contains Lion-o, Panthro, Tygra, and Cheetara.  You can always count on their attention to detail and their quest to make the most accurate depictions of the characters.  From small things like keeping the Thundercats logo in perspective to Lion-O’s claw and sword, this lot is one for true Thudercats aficionados.  To check out these Thundercats and thier other customs, head over to eBay!

Sabrina Ng brings us her 4th installment in her Henkei series with her Custom Henkei Bumblebee Transformers figure.  One aspect that I love about her customs is she takes the time to get it right and she also pays homage to the G1 era with the paint aps.  Although the figure from the 80′s was a canary yellow, the cartoon version was more an orangy yellow, which Sabrina captured nicely!  Along with giving Bumblebee realistic looking metal parts, the shine and gloss to the figure gives it that showroom finish.  She also has a Henkei Jetfire up this week as well so head over to eBay and check out both of her Custom Transformers figures.

Frenzy.Rumble has the ability to take a mediocre figure (at best) and turn it into a figure that you will want to have as the centerpiece of your collection.  The intricate detail to his Custom Transformers Universe Inferno figure must takes talent to transform the plastic into a  realistic looking fire truck and is a 1000% improvement to the Transformers Universe figure.  There are many subtleties to this figure and I like the way that he has made the tires realistic looking (if you remember the original figure, it had red rims) as well as the hoses, the lights, and bumpers.  It takes a lot of patience to do this work but as you can see it is very rewarding.  My favorite part of this custom is the Autobot symbol on the front, which for G1 fans, is how the original Inferno rolled!  To see more photos of this great custom, head over to eBay and check out Frenzy.Rumble’s Custom Transformers Universe Inferno figure.

BoskoesToys has an amazing looking Custom Marvel Legends Juggernaut figure up this week.  They have really captured the intensity of Juggernaut with the facial expressions and features they added to the figure.  The eyes are piercing and the teeth show the true grit along with the lines in the face capture the true essence of Juggernaut.  The helmet is one of my favorite parts of this figure and the way it was made lets the face shine through.  BoskoesToys is one of the best in the business so head over to eBay and check out thier Custom Marvel Legends Juggernaut figure.

Sabrina Ng gives this Henkei figure a showroom shine with her Custom Transformers Sideswipe figure.  The original look of this figure (before Sabrina put her touches on it) looked too plastic for my taste so I am very happy that Sabrina decided to put her energy into making Sideswipe shine.  This is her second installment in her Henkei series and if this one (and ) are a preview of more to come, sign me up!  She did take some liberties with the paint scheme and color aps but I will give her a pass on this one because the two colors that she chose go really well together and it takes an artistic eye to know what colors will compliment each other.  Sabrina has more photos of her Custom Henkei Transformers Sideswipe figure over on eBay so head over there and check them out!

Cyclonus’ design was one of the coolest among the seeker jets and Sabrina Ng has given this Decepticon warrior a fresh new look with her Custom Transformers Henkei Cyclonus figure.  The shape of Cyclonus is very different that the original seeker jets and the original paint scheme was a deep purple and silver, which Sabrina Ng has captured nicely with her flawless painting technique.  Let’s read more about how she made this great figure:

“To begin with, Henkei Cyclonus has some of the coolest looking chromy purple wings ever. That however didn’t stop me from designing an even better colour scheme to complement him. I took some of the best paints that I had and spent countless hours experimenting before I managed to churn out a very metallic looking chromy purple that’s close to the stock colours of purple chrome. He has been airbrushed with utmost care and shaded and detailed at every corner possible without turning this fearsome Destron warrior into looking overly colourful. Notice the very limited colour choices on Cyclonus without sacrificing the amount of attention to him.”

I love the realism that NTT brings to his customs and his latest Custom Marvel Legends White Phoenix figure is no exception.  I love the concept from head to toe!  The coupling of metallic gold and soft white accent the right parts of the this figure and the gold sash ties everything together.  The hair is a work of art in itself and I have said this several times but nailing the right features of a figure (such as the eyes and hair) can make a break a custom.  The hair is very realistic on this figure and the deep shade of red really makes the face pop!  NTT is one of the best customizers in this respect and he strives to set a realistic tone with his figures while still staying true to the concepts.  Head over to eBay and place a bid on this beauty or view more photos of NTT’s Custom Marvel Legends White Phoenix figure!

Customizers always see the inner beauty of a figure sitting on the shelf and they always seem to bring out the best in the figure.  Sabrina Ng has again worked her magic with her Custom Transformers Universe Optimus Prime figure.  Thinking that the figure looked too dull, she focused on making this figure shine with a combination of painting techniques.  I especially love the direction she took the midsection and the grill, giving Optimus that burnt steel look.  There are also very small details that if you are not paying close attention, you will miss.  For example, she noticed that the box shot had a picture of Prime with a symbol on his lef arm and she went ahead and made that correction and even put a high gloss finish on it to protect it.  I have said it before and I will say it again, Sabrina makes outstanding customs and you should feel lucky if you win one because you should know that the ones she makes are the highest quality and best around.  Head over to eBay and check out her Custom Transformers Universe Optimus Prime figure for yourself.

Skribbel24 continues to pay homage to the classic wrestling stars of the 80′s that I new and loved.  Take his latest Custom WWF Classic Superstar Ricky the Dragon Steamboat figure.  Skribbel24 has the unique ability to capture the wrestlers as they appeared so long ago.  I only know Ricky Steamboat from his WWF days and he was a powerhouse and a force to be reckoned with.  If you don’t know the back history behind this legend, here is it from wwe.com:

After ending a long and bitter rivalry with George “The Animal” Steele, Randy Savage focused his attention on Ricky Steamboat. After some back and forth action, Savage got frustrated and lost control. He took the timekeeper’s bell, climbed the ropes and came crashing down on Steamboat’s throat, crushing his larynx. Horrified fans looked on as Steamboat was taken out on a stretcher. Steamboat miraculously returned a few weeks later, taking on Savage at WrestleMania III. With revenge on his mind, Steamboat defeated Savage for the Intercontinental Championship in what some consider one of the best match in WWE history.

Who can Cobra trust with their most secret documents or weapons?  Surely they can’t trust the Postal Service so they have acquired the stealthiness of Jin Saotome’s own creation with his Cobra Black Racer Custom GI Joe 25th Anniversary figure.  I see this figure as Destro’s right hand man.  Jin is widely known for his one of a kind creations so let’s get the back story on this unique figure:

“When Cobra needs to move a top secret weapon or document in the shortest amount of time, they call on the Black Racer. This warrior is only comfortable at speeds of over 150 mph with other vehicles whizzing past him on the road. His motorcycle has an experimental stealth device build in that evades radar and even casts a shadow over the bike and its rider, appearing only as a dark blur at high speeds. Nobody knows the true identity of the Black Racer, not even Cobra Commander! But what is known is that you cannot catch the wind… or the Black Racer!”

Enter the Black Racer, Cobra’s speed demon! He’s full of hand painted detail that will match up perfect to the existing GI Joe 25th line. Not only do you get the leather-clad biker but you get his motorcycle as well! It has real rubber tires and diecast parts, decked out in glossy black with Cobra symbols. Jin has the ability to take you back in time with every custom he makes and these pair of twins is no exception.  Contra is a game that I wasted several weeks of my life playing and these Custom Contra Twins Mad Dog and Scorpion capture the period of time in my life when I had the Contra music running in my head 24 hours a day (those who know the music know what I am talking about).  One the coolest weapons to have in the game was the Spreader and if you got a hold of that baby you were invincible.  To get a peak at the Spreader and to view more photos of these awesome customs, head over to eBay and bid on Jin’s Custom Contra Twins Mad Dog and Scorpion figures.

Bringing together the concepts and artwork of Mr Guido Guidi, the concepts of griffith_76, and the execution of form and function of Sabrina Ng comes this outstanding Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime Custom Transformers figures.  This is a dual effort as griffith_76 is the designer and built these beauties from scratch and Sabrina has applied her skill with the brush.  Stylistically, you will notice that the finish on these customs is very different from Sabrina’s usual glossy showroom finish as she decided to go for realism for the period that this comic was set in.  I love it when customizers have the presence of mind to make the changes necessary to make thier customs the best they can be.  Let’s hear more about these great custom from Sabrina herself:

“This first edition set pair of Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime is designed to be modelled after the Hearts of Steel comics as well as my very own rendering of a Hearts of Steel Nemesis Prime. I set out to do up a more realistic impression of a train as opposed to my usual shiny and reflective customs.  The HOS 01A (red/blue) was dry brushed before using coats of red and blue to get a steely outlook for the his parts. Much of his trailer was shaded before being covered with clear blue. HOS 01B (black/gold/teal) was predominantly shaded to achieve his burnt steel look across. His gold was achieved by airbrushing layers of enamels for a richer shade. Both figures were given an anti UV gloss coat for a lasting finish that will retain their colours for many years to come.  This auction includes HOS-01A (red/blue) and HOS-01B (black/gold) only. Movie Ironhide and Bumblebee are used as gauges for the audience to estimate the height and build of the Hearts of Steel customs. Also, griffith_76 has decided to include 3 bonus items for this auction. I will update it accordingly in the next few days as and when I receive details about them”
