Back with more steampunk figures is Jin Saotome with his Custom DC Universe Steampunk Bane figure. Since Bane is part man and part machine, this figure lends itself nicely to the steampunk era styling. The aspects of this figure that really stand out are the fists and feet, which look very clunky and mechanical, which fits right in with the era. The mechanisms that operate the fists are in plain view and you can imagine the parts moving back and forth as Bane opens and closes his fists. The coloring and shading of the metal parts look like real bronze. Based more on the comic version of the character, the collar and chest piece were designed to look like is powered by steam, possibly giving Bane his unique vocal tones. This figure also has real leather straps and brass fittings, thus completing the steampunk look! To view more detailed photos, head over to eBay and check out Jin's killer Custom DC Universe Steampunk Bane figure.
Commemorating the New 52 DC comics event marking the publications of 52 new comic series is Shinobitron's Custom Captain Atom DC Universe figure. So what is New 52? According to dc.wikia.com, "the New 52 is a 2011 DC Comics event marking the publication of 52 new comic series and the release of the first issues of the new series. In September 2011, DC Comics consolidated and relaunched their comic lines, publishing new #1 issues for selected series, discontinuing some series, and introducing yet other series."
Boasting 25 points of articulation, the overall design and execution of this figure is second to none! The removable arm flames and the flame blast add a 3 dimensional aspect of the figure and the paint app makes the figure appear almost translucent. Shinobitron has taken the best of the comic art and created a truly amazing figure that looks stunning. I love the improvisation of the red atom in the middle of the chest. A cool design that completes a killer figure! To see more photos, head over to Shinobitron's gallery or his auction page to see his Custom Captain Atom DC Universe figure.
L/R Customs improves upon the DC Universe line with his Custom Aztek figure in Marvel Legends scale. The Aztek character was made into a figure back in 2005 as part of the Justice League line but L/R Customs has gone above and beyond, creating a figure that is on a grander scale! Using the likeness of Aztek as he appeared in the Justice League Unlimited series, the classic gold, white, blue, and red costume is very well executed. The spikes protruding from his head are evenly spaced and his neck has the detailed striations you will find on the character that is shown from the series. To buy this Custom DC Universe Aztek figure, head over to eBay.
Polyhex Customs applies a killer paint app to this Custom Beast Hunters Optimus Prime figure. The old G1 and new Beast Hunters styling is present in the features of this old Autobot Leader. For example, the face on the original Beast Hunter's version has a more animated, cartoon styled face and Polyhex has brought the essence of the Generation One face shield back in his repainted version. Also, the coloring is much more accurate, displaying the classic crimson red that Optimus Prime adorns. There are subtle enhancements that make the figure truly exceptional. The repainted sword looks a million times better than the green slime color that came with the original. I get it that kids like bright colors but the type of green that the figure originally came with looks like the green slime from the old TV show Double Dare. To see more photos of Polyhex's Custom Beast Hunters Optimus Prime figure, head over to eBay!
One of the most talented Custom Wrestling figure makers I know is a guy that goes by the name Skribbel24. As I was looking at the figures he has up for sale this week, I could not pick a favorite so I decided to feature them all! I have been featuring Skribbel's work since 2008 and he keeps getting better and better as the years go by! One of the most notable figure this week is his Chris Benoit Custom Mattel Elite Wrestling figure. Given the tragic ending to his and his family's life back in 2007, no toy company will ever make a figure in his likeness but Skribbel24 has created an eery likeness that you can own. Skribbel24 attention to detail is great as he tries to replicate aspects of the figures to help bring them to life. For example, the detail in the facial expression and tights are the most noteworthy aspects of these figure.
He also has more amazing figures this week, which include:
You can always check out Skribbel24's great work over on his Seller Page!
As I Am Boba Fett said, "The Elomin species has never been made in action figure form by Hasbro," and I think I have to agree with him. Building upon comic art from the Star Wars Expanded Universe comes this Elomin Female Slave Custom figure. According to Wookiepedia, "The Elomin were horned humanoids from Elom who lived on the surface of the planet while another sentient species—the Elom—lived underground. An interesting factoid but I am more interested in the customizer's interpretation of this figure, which, if you have seen the comic art, it pretty dead on. I love the fact that a customizer is adding to the line up rather than Hasbro as attention to detail that customizers pay to figures is by far SO much better! I Am Boba Fett sums this figure up nicely when he said, "Need another slave girl for your Jabba the Hutt scene...or a female alien for your Cantina scene...here you go!" If you are, in fact, in dire need of a new figure to add to a cool new scene or just add to your collection of rare figures that will never see the light of day from Hasbro, check out I Am Boba Fett's Elomin Female Slave Custom Star Wars Expanded Universe figure.
Big Bad Toy Store is always getting new inventory so please click the above banner and head over to their site to check out their selection. Click here to view a taste of the new items (both pre-orders and arrivals) they have received in the past few weeks.
Adding another fantastic figure to the Teen Titans line up is Vernondo's Custom DC Universe Bunker figure. This figure really captures the comic version in physical, plastic form. I love the removable psionic gloves as they add to both the poseability and the overall style of the figure, giving you many ways to display this great piece. Here is Vernondo to tell you a little more about this figure himself:
"He has made to reflect his trademark look from the Teen Titans, wearing his purple and red spandex and his Zorro-like bandana/mask hybrid. Additionally, he comes with a pair of removable purple “psionic” gloves and a brick wall piece to represent his mutant power!"
Some of the cool aspects of this figure is the overall paint app looks really smooth and well applied. In addition, the way the mask is tied off in the back looks like the tassels are blowing in the wind, giving them a more realistic appearance. I can't overlook the classic "soul patch" that is added to Bunker's face, which really brings home the comic look and feel.
Lilmosnter777 has some imagination and some skills to create this one of a kind Custom GI Joe Pursuit of Cobra HISS Tank. By combing the best parts from a Pursuit of Cobra HISS Tank, a Pursuit of Cobra Fury vehicle, and a DTC HISS Tank, he create one ultimate armored vehicle that actually looks better than the 3 stand alone vehicles ever could! If you need a visual, here you go:
Not only is this a killer design but the overall paint app makes this look like an actual tank that has been rolling through the mud into battle. I have to agree with Aristotle when he said, "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts," and this Custom HISS Tank definitely fits that description. To check our more detailed photos, head over and check out this Custom GI Joe Pursuit of Cobra HISS Tank over on eBay!
Missing Jedi has brought Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns, otherwise known as The Shield, to life with his Custom WWE Shield trio. Modeled after the likeness of the team that made their debut during Survivor Series 2012, these figures offer an accurate representation of these bad boys. It looks like a lot of time and effort went into getting their appearance right. From the hair and facial sculpts down to the outfits, these figures will make a fantastic addition to your custom WWE collection! The subtle aspects of these figures that I really like is the way the hair was sculpted, as you can see in the side view below. The styling makes it look like the hair is flowing, giving it a realistic look to it. The blending of the yellow and black hair of Seth Rollins. To place a bid on these cool Custom WWE Shield figures, head over to eBay!
I know the customizing community is close so I need everyone to band together to help raise money for Samantha, the fiancé of a veteran Customizer ToyMaker B (also known as Bill Doetterl). She has unfortunately been diagnosed with cancer for the second time! Many customizers are banding together in a call to arms in an attempt to do some good on her behalf. There are a many ways you can offer support:
1. Participate in the WGC Think Pink Custom Contest
2. Donate money to her cancer fund here
Many of the customs will be auctioned off on eBay so I will keep everyone posted as to when they go live so stay tuned for further updates.
Using the Shattered Glass TFW Hercules Perseus figure to create his Custom Diaclone Devastator Transformers Combiner, Xaviercal brings out the color and styling of this precursor to the Transformers line. I find it fascinating to learn the origin of words, phrases, and pretty much anything. For example, the phrase "the whole nine yards" comes from a World War 2 reference where aircraft machine gun belts were nine yards long. Relating this to the Transformers Universe, Diaclone is one of those words that is great to know the origin of. What is Diaclone? Well, before the Transformers brand was introduced, Takara directly exported some Diaclone toys to North America under the brand names Diakron and Kronoform, but those lines met with very little success. In 1983, Hasbro representatives discovered Diaclone and Microchange toys at the Tokyo Toy Show, and soon struck a deal to create the Transformers brand.
The colors really pop on this figure and brings the classic Diaclone look and feel with the primary use of reds and yellows. Xaviercal has numerous photos of his Custom Diaclone Devastator Transformers Combiner over at his auction page where he has taken single pictures of each figure close up as well as combined into the mighty behemoth we know as Devastator.
Worth its weight in gold? This Custom Gold Plated Lego Star Wars C-3PO is! 24K gold to exact. When I first saw this minifig I said to myself, "Wow...someone did a really nice gold color plating on this figure," but as I dug a little deeper, I discovered that the gold is real and it was plated by a very sophisticated process, which is outline below:
"This minifigure was chrome plated using Real 24k Gold. This minifigure is made with genuine Lego Plastic parts that have been Chrome Plated using a Vacuum Metalization Process (which vaporizes Aluminum and 24k GOLD to create the chrome plating effect). The Torso is made with a High quality water slide decal seal. It is clear coated to provide great wear protection for play or display."
This color gold brings out the movie like appearance C-3PO had and is even better looking than the 14K Gold C-3PO that Lego produced back in 2007. To see more photos of this Custom Gold Plated Lego Star Wars C-3PO, head over to eBay!
Horton's Heroes is at it again creating figures that leap right from the comic and out into reality with his Custom DC Universe Redbird Damian Wayne figure. From head to toe, this figure represents a fantastic translation of the comic book character. From the ruffled feathers that adorn the shoulders and neck area down to the weapons and boots, this figure looks stunning. The deep hue to the reds, along with black washing parts of the costume, really bring out the detail. In the comic art that I have seen, the costume appears more of a crimson color but I like Horton's coloring much better as it adds more of a masculine feel to the overall design. To view more images of Horton's Custom DC Universe Redbird Damian Wayne figure, head over to eBay!
The Takara Vehicon Transformers is an interesting concept as there are 4 distinct vehicle modes in the line up but they all look the same in robot mode. Billmeister has taken the Takara Vehicon AM-14 figure and did a total transformation into this Custom Transformers Hot Rod Rodimus figure. Using a custom head by Fakebuster, the figure's look is completed by a total repaint and additions of the classic Hot Rod flames on the front of the hood. Painted in a metallic reds, oranges, silvers, blues, and blacks give this figure a distinct look but reminiscent of the classic G1 Hot Rod.
Here is Billmeister to explain more about this killer figure:
Inspired by Jinsatoume's version using the same mold, and Fakebusker's headsculpt I used metallics, and a dark shade of metallics, detailed areas with gradient on headlights, eyes, gun, and grid sections and some other minor areas as well. The flame was tricky to figure out how to make one that would fit into this universe. The flame was inspired by the Elite guard symbol, and Animated Rodimus. The orange stripe is inspired by smokescreen's triple stripe for this universe line. to add more flavor i did something new to the windshield and windows that i've never tried before. I used metallic stages toning darker towards the way up. Being the first of it's kind that i make, i felt i needed to do something special with the details and set a new milestone for my custom work, as i did for myself with my first ever custom which was SG Rodimus

AFC has a virtual sit down with Pack Rat Studios, a customizer that caught my eye with his unique styling and concepts. I am a closet Steampunk fan and PackRatStudios' Custom Steampunk Boba Fett first drew my attention and after that I was hooked on his customs! Let's read more about this talented customizer:
AFC: Tell your fans a little about yourself.
PackRatStudios: My name is Jonathan, I live in St. Paul, MN where it still snows in April!, and I am all that is PackRatStudios!
My contact info:
AFC: When did you start making customs?
PackRatStudios: Since I was young. I remember painting figures with enamels and casting parts in plaster (lose lose situations). I always collected action figures up until going off to college, and I actually sold pretty much everything I had at that point. But when I got out of college, I started back up with action figures, and customs came right after. I was doing customs in a one bedroom apartment that I lived in with my wife, cramming stuff in all kinds of nooks and crannies, working at the kitchen table, it was a mess. Then we bought a house, and my collecting, customizing, and Storage for customizing just exploded! So I called myself PackRatStudios, cause I pack it in. I'm not a HORDER! Yet I do keep some of the weirdest things on hand, Just in case!
AFC: Can you describe your workspace?
PackRatStudios: Organized Hording 😉
AFC: What is your favorite toy line to do customs for?
PackRatStudios: I seriously cannot pick one! I love jumping around and doing Marvel Legends, DC Universe, Star Wars, Gi Joe, TMNT, and SteamPunk. Nothing is off limits in my mind!
AFC: What is the custom you are most proud of?
PackRatStudios: I’d have to either pick between my 24 inch SteamPunk Iron Man, or my 36 inch Nautilus I did last year.
Both were commissions, both were large, both were learning opportunities for me! These projects were very daunting coming into, not having done any projects this large. But I learned a lot doing both of these, picked up some new techniques and I and my customers were very happy with the results.
AFC: What customs do you have lined up for the future?
PackRatStudios: I have ‘WIP’ Project bins stacked and ready. I’m never without a project! But Right now, I have some more TMNTs Planned, GI Joes, SteamPunk stuff, and Transformers: I have a Military Vehicle concept Combiner that has been half finished sitting on a shelf for about a year or two now… that, and I have a full line of WW2 Star Wars figures that have been sitting longer…including a WW2 AT-AT!
AFC: If you had one piece of advice for other customizers out there, what would you say to them?
PackRatStudios: One piece of advice that has worked well for me is to take my time on projects, and work on more than one thing at a time. There are times where I will have more that 5-6 projects going at a time, at different stages. This gives me the ability to switch back and forth between projects, where I am not getting bored with a figure. Boredom with a project leads to sloppy project! When I get bored with a figure, I just switch to another. As stated before, I have dozens of projects lined up in my WIP bins, so I ALWAYS have another figure I can go to. When sculpts are drying, I can move to Paint, when Paint is drying, I can move to building!
I thought this Custom Transformers Pretender Optimus Prime figure was a very cool concept! The story is amazing so without further ado I will let Primos take it from here:
After being severely damaged in battle with Bludgeon and the Mayhem Attack Squad on the ravaged planet Klo, Prime in put into a repair bay to heal his injured body. His Power Master body has suffered extensive damage.
Prime starts to remembering how many countless times this has happened. Looking at Ratchet "What is it all for? Megatron, Bludgeon, Shockwave, there’s always another enemy luring on the horizon. Always one step closer to putting out my spark for good."
Ratchet: " This is why you’re our Prime, you’re the answer to all these evils. Just relax Optimus. We’ll have you fixed up in no time " Prime: "Like so many times before"
As Prime slips into sleep he hears the Matrix calls him…Engulfing him into the light and pulling him to another time.
Prime is shown a savage war. Prime thinks to himself “Is this the past or the Future?”.
He’s watches a courageous Transformer named Primal. Both organic and machine on a somewhat familiar world. His body is something Optimus has seen before. Much like the Pretenders we developing on the Steel Haven from the stolen plans of Scorponok.(The Transformers (Marvel US) #40, "Pretender to the Throne!" )But these beings did not use it for disguises, they were both organic and machine as one.
Prime see’s flashes of battles, Organics and Transmetal soldiers. The uncertain future of Cybertron. The namesake of Megatron and Prime live on into the future..or is this the past?
Then he sees the Ark, where he and the Autobots laid dormant for so many years. He’s see’s a new tyrant named Megatron lining up to destroy him. "Why are you showing me the past ? Has this already transpired"? Booom
Flash of Light. Clearing the landscape, he see’s Primal protecting his spark from Destruction. Combining it with his own "He’s saved me, before I awoke so long ago."
Prime seen how they were together as Optimal Optimus as they shared his spark. His existence is a direct reflection of Primal’s own determination. That determination will protect his resting soul in the past. It’s a circle he can’t escape from. The Future and the past is one. The burden is to be shared!
"PRIME" He hears Ratchet calling. Losing focus and brought back into Ratchets repair bay. "Your Powermaster armor is pretty much destroyed" Were re-scanning you. Teletran-1 is rebuilding your original earth Alt mode. it will take some time before you’re ready to Roll Out". Prime: "Wait, I have an idea. Contact Maximus on the Steel Haven, Tell him I want initiate the Pretender process for myself until my body is repaired."
Rachet: "You, an Organic human? Don’t you think you would need something with a little more..bulk?" Prime: "Human? not exactly".
PackRatStudios is kickin it ole West style with his Custom Marvel Legends Deadpool Unchained figure. Never in a million years would I guess Deadpool sporting a 10 gallon hat and spurs but he rocks them with the best of them. When PackRatStudios says that this figure is "packing" he is not kidding! Coming complete with an arsenal that will knock you socks off, he also comes with a Western dio and a unique carrying case. The ole West styling is not overdone as the outfit integrates nicely into the overall design of the figure. What is amazing about this figure is the versatility you have. With 3 different head sculpts, the plethora of weapons, and Western dio possibilities, there are countless ways to display this figure (ok...I did the math and there are 364 possible ways to display this figure)!
Here is PackRatStudios to tell you more about this unique Deadpool figure:
"DeadPool has been re-imagined back in the ol' West, and he comes packing! Litterally... and Figuratively Speaking. This DeadPool comes in a custom case and holds all of his accessories, extra portraits, and display base. The Case is an antique brief case, built from wood and has a leather handle! Deadpool comes loaded with accessories as you can see: Three Heads: a Bowen masked, Bowen Unmasked and a bandana mask combo. ALSO, another added acessory is a sweet neck bandana! Works for both bowen sculpts! All three heads are magnetic to the neck post, AND the Cowboy hat. That's right, no worries about the cowboy hat falling off, it just pops onto all three heads via magnetic powers!!! On to the arsenal! Deadpool comes with 2 regular six shooter pistols that fit into his holsters, two tomahawks (the Wild Wests version of Sai's!), Rifle, TWO Katanas (fit into sheaths!), Sheath too is magnetic! It sticks right on his back! Two MASSIVE Revolver Canons!, and lastly...just a coffin...nothing inside of it I dont think... Or is there!!! Coffin Mounted Mini Gun!!! This idea was taken from the Original (PROBABLY CAN't say its name) Spagetti Western. Coffin is scratch built out of real wood!Lastly, "DjeadPool" comes with a base/dio of a Old West Saloon! and bonus, SNAKE! for decor!"
There are so many more photos over on his auction page where you can check out the multiple heads and custom case for this Deadpool Unchained figure, or, as PackRatStudios calls him, "Djeadpool Unchained."
Being second in command is a hard job. Created by Unicron, Cyclonus is a pretty intense Decepticon. Like Starscream was to Megatron, Cylonus is to Galvatron and Captain Cosmics' Customs has brought to life the Decepticon who is hell bent on destruction with his Custom G1 Transformers Cyclonus figure. The paint app is stellar on this figure! Using metallic paints, Cosmics' goes on to say, "Cyclonus has been lavishly painted from top to toe in beautiful metallic pearl t9 give this loyal and respected decepticon the physical presence he deserves, complimented with violets, reds, greys and a plethora of airbrushed metallics." The flow of purple on the figure was very well done as it is not a uniform solid color, which gives the figure a much more interesting appearance. The greys also have a similar effect, which make it look like this Custom G1 Transformers Cyclonus has just returned fresh from battle! If you are looking for a G1 Cylonus that captures the look and feel of the Transformers Cartoon Movie, then this is the one! If you want to see more detailed photos, head over to Captain Cosmics' gallery featuring his killer repaint!Find Cyclonus Figures on eBay!

Steampunk design is one of my favorite genres to feature but the only issue is that these types of customs are few and far between but Jin Saotome is taking this problem head on with his Custom Steampunk DC Universe Batman. Imagine if Batman was around in the 19th Century (in other words, the years between 1801 and 1900), how would his suit be constructed and what types of weapons would he have? This is where customizers come in and Jin's Steampunk Batman is equipped with a flying mechanism as well as weapons and armor that mirror the styling of this era. There is so many fine details in this figure it is impossible to call each one out but the major ones I will make note of are the armor plates that look like they are riveted in place and the numerous gears that appear to make everything function. He is also planning more figures in this Steampunk style so check out his Custom Steampunk DC Universe Batman and check back in the coming weeks to what he has in store for you!Custom Steampunk on eBay!

There is something about nostalgia that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It could be the reminder of simpler days when you were a child with few worries or the first time you opened a G1 Transformer for the first time. I get that feeling when I look at Jbarb78's G1 Inspired Beast Hunters Smokescreen figure. He did a fantastic job with the color palette and capturing the feeling from the 1980's. The very subtle use of the Autobot stickers remind me of the Generation 1 Transformers because most of the toys you pick up today either have the symbol etched on the figure already, which takes some of the fun away from the toys of today. One slight modification is in the size of the #38, which was a good call! In the G1 figure, the 38 took up a bunch of car real estate and detracted from the figure and Jbarb78 has fixed this with his smaller foot print number for this classic character. You can head over to eBay and view Jbarb's G1 Inspired Beast Hunters Smokescreen figure or visit his gallery to see more detailed photos!
Filling voids in toy lines is where customizers come in. They have the foresight to select characters that are in need of being developed into an action figure. Vernondo has done just this with his Custom DC Universe Classics Connor Hawke as Green Arrow figure. Let's hear more about what inspired him to create this figure:
"A lot of folks love the Green Arrow, and we have gotten many versions of the Oliver Queen version in DCUC and JLU. One version we have not seen in a very long time is when the Green Arrow mantle was taken up by his very own son, Connor Hawke! So now is your chance to own Connor Hawke as the GREEN ARROW! Connor Hawke is the second Green Arrow, and the son of Oliver Queen. He is an expert archer and used a variety of regular pointed arrows and trick arrows. Due to Connor's training, he can also mimic fighting styles that he witnesses, though this is a learned skill and not a meta-human power."
The comic book likeness is uncanny and the figure's paint app and styling really fits into the either the DC Universe or the Marvel Legends scale figures that are prolific in the customizing arena. The brown and green that was selected for the figure is well matched to Green Arrow's comic appearance and the sculpting on the figure brings out the realistic detail. For example, the way the eye mask flows behind his head makes it look like the figure is blowing in the wind. Also, you will notice that this figure has no pupils, which is the way that this figure appears in the comics. Overall, Vernondo's Custom DC Universe Classics Connor Hawke as Green Arrow figure is a great example of a well executed figure filling a much needed void in the DC line.
What a difference an accurate paint app makes! Not only has Sagedad1306 created a show accurate figure with his Custom Transformers Prime Optimus Prime figure but he also integrated the G1 coloring that we all grew up with.
As you can see from the comparison photo, the dark brown plastic parts were painted with a nice metallic silver color, which makes these features pop, especially in the torso region. The choice of red that was used blends nicely with the G1 color scheme. The same attention to detail was paid to the guns and accessories as well. These were given a small amount of black washing which gives the guns a cool effect. To see more photos of the accessories and the more shot of the overall figure, head over to eBay and check out this cool Custom Transformers Prime Optimus Prime figure.
In a collaborative effort between FoxHunter and ToyMan Customs comes this highly detailed Custom Marvel Legends Cable figure. This figure has so many redeeming attributes it is hard to begin with just choosing one so let's start at a high level and work our way down. Overall, the paint app and sculpting on the figure are second to none. If you see a close up of the face, the texture effects makes it look like the figure has real skin. It is the texture that gives the figure a deeper dimension and this effect is present across the entire figure. For example, the way the hair is done gives a realistic looking appeal. The cloth that is draped across the shoulders also makes it look like there is real fabric on the figure. The metal effects on the cyborg arm and on the gun and ammo belt complete the overall look and feel that the customizers were going for. Overall, this is one of the best Custom Marvel Legends Cable figures I have seen in a long time!
AFC has the pleasure of interviewing Steve's Customs! Enjoy meeting this talented customizer:
AFC: Tell the fans of your work a little about yourself
Steve: My name is Steve. I am 41 years old but I'm still a child at heart. I love customizing action figures because I am never happy with the way they look from the factory. I am an active member on Procustomizers.com and I am also active on facebook. I have a website as well: http://www.stevescustomfigures.webs.com. I am married to my beautiful wife Grace, I have 2 daughters, Kate 22 and Kira 16. I am also a grandfather of 3. Aiden 3, Carly 2 and Sophia. 2 months.
AFC: When did you start making customs?
Steve: I started doing customs when I was about 13. I think it was Voltron. I had a small version that didn't come apart but I wanted to have the lions disassemble. So I took it apart and made legs and painted the little guys.
AFC: Can you describe your workspace?
Steve: I have a work table in my shed. It's not the greatest place to work. I do have electric though. Bless the invention of the extension cord. LOL I can't do anything in the winter. It just gets too cold out there.
AFC: What is your favorite toy line to do customs for?
Steve: My absolute favorite line is The Transformers. They are usually easy to take apart and reassemble.
AFC: What is the custom you are most proud of?
Steve: The custom I am most proud of.........That's a tough one. My WFC Megatron because it's the first figure I've ever put an LED in. Also my WFC Nemesis Prime. I love all the add ons I made for it.
AFC: What customs do you have lined up?
Right now I'm doing FOC Grimlock. I'm working on the LEDs right now. I put a new on/off switch in it and an LED in the robot head. Working on finishing it up right now. I have about 10 projects in various stages. For whatever reason, I haven't gotten around to finishing them yet. One day......
AFC: If you had one piece of advice for other customizers out there, what would you say to them?
Steve: Be patient. If you rush something, you're going to mess it up. Also, learn as much as you can. You can only improve with time.
Ever wonder what you get when you cross certain periods in history with your favorite toy lines? What you get remains to be seen as www.procustomizers.com is hosting a friendly Custom Contest called Twisted Timelines! If you are a customizer or a fan of customs, who will not want to miss out on this one! Read more about the contest here...and...oh...did I mention...there are prizes!!!
Chonosmoon has given the Decepticons communication officer a really clean look with his Custom Transformers Shattered Glass Soundwave and Lasserbeak figure. In the original figure produced by Hasbrol, the color scheme washed out any of the detail on the drone but Chonosmoon has fixed this with an impeccable paint app and custom styling. The decision to lighten the figure up was a great one and the G1 blue that adorns the figure is there to bring out the subtle detail and, in my opinion, pay homage to the Generation Soundwave we great up with. This is a great example of how the smallest details can really make or break a custom and it just goes to show you that sometimes being subtle is all you need!

Originally released as a Go-Bot figure, Jin Saotome has brought this Generation 2 Autobot into the styling of Transformers Prime with his Custom Transformers G2 Motormouth Go-Bots figure. Part of the first wave of Go-Bots, Motormouth transforms into a Ford F150 Flareside pickup truck. Using through-axle construction for his wheels, he is compatible with most "Hot Wheels" and "Matchbox" playsets and tracks. As for the history of the Go-Bots lines, In 1991, Hasbro took over Tonka, and thus the Gobot trademarks; the molds for the action figures remain the property of Bandai, having only been leased to Tonka, and some were reissued in 1993 for the European Robo Machines line. Since then, the trademarks have been used several times—a character called Gobots was released in 1993, a range of figures in 1995 were called the Go-Bots.
As for Jin's figure, this bad boy won't fit into any Matchbox or Hotwheels play sets. Keeping with the G2 styling, you will notice the gold rims that the orginial figure sported back in the day as well as two arm saws mounted on 5mm posts that can detach and be used with other Transformers as well as a giant rifle to blast away the enemy. To place a bid on this cool blast from the past, head over to eBay and check out Jin's Custom Transformers G2 Motormouth Go-Bots figure.
"We are the Death Watch, descendants of the true warrior faith all Mandalorians once knew. Now my people are living in exile because we will not abandon our heritage. Our people were warriors. Strong. Feared! Now they're ruled by the New Mandalorians who think that being a pacifist is a good thing. They've given away our honor and tradition for peace. Duchess Satine and her corrupt leadership are crushing our souls, destroying our identity. That is our struggle."
―Pre Vizsla introducing the Death Watch to Darth Maul on Zanbar

AFC: What is the custom you have up for sale on eBay this week?
Customs by Z: Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Shockwave
AFC: What inspired you to create this custom?
Customs by Z: The eye! It seriously needed some life added to it, so I hooked it up with a dual LED look! Both red and yellow operated by the same switch.
AFC: How was this figure made?
Customs by Z: This was just a standard repaint. I used a custom mix of Kustom Kolor lacquer paint and some enamel paints for detail. I also added a custom LED/electronics setup that gives Shockwave both a Red and Yellow eyes and a high intensity red LED in his canon.
AFC: How many hours did it take you to create this figure?
Customs by Z: Actual working time probably around 10 or so.... but with paint curing times and my overall procrastination a week from start to finish.
AFC: Is there any other interesting information about the process of making this custom that you would like to share with your fans?
Customs by Z: Nothing out of the ordinary... but with electronics, it is best to map your path PRIOR to installation!
I am pleased to announce that Acgon Collectibles is now an official sponsor of AFC. Please support AFC by clicking the image above to check out the wide selection of toys that they have to offer. Frenzy.Rumble makes the greatest addition to the Transformers line up since the introduction of Jetfire back in 1985 with his Unicronicrotchicon Masterpiece Quadrochanger Ultimate Action Master Supreme figure. You have heard of Triple Changers and that the Sextuple Changer (Six Shot) and now you have a Quadrochanger to add to your arsenal. He has filled a longstanding void in the Transformers Universe as they have never had a Slow Speed Scooter, a Cybertronian Park Bench, or a Toll Booth before! Now the line has caught up with the ever so popular MASK (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) line as they had a Scooter (T-BOB) and a Toll Booth. Frenzy.Rumble one ups MASK with the Park Bench, a fantastic addition to the Transformers realm. Is he an Action Master? A Headmaster? a Thighmaster? No, he is a Kibblemaster in his birthday suit as the creator explains:
"This exclusive limited edition exclusive Masterpiece custom transformer, was originally a commissioned piece, luckily for you - it is now on ebay due to circumstances on the client's end. Unicrotchicron is a fan-made character and fits along side the other Transformers in your collection. There were NO paints used in the process of creating this custom, he's completely in his birthday suit... so - the colors will stay vibrant and true for many many years (keep in mind, this isn't a collectible, so feel free to throw it around!) I did not finish him off with any type of Testor's clear coats, matte, semi-gloss, and gloss variations to keep the colors vibrant and true for years and years ...always through an air brush to ensure thin, even perfect coats. I ensure the highest and most durable paint applications on all my customs, but this one, like i said, doesn't have any paint."
