Bringing to life one of Batman's foes is MadTinker76's Custom Marvel Legends Bane figure! Ooooozing with detail (and toxic waste), the figure looks like it was plucked right from the Arkham Asylum video game. The detail is stunning on this figure. My favorite aspect of this figure is the way the toxic chemicals appear to be flowing from his body and running through his veins. The toxic waste weapons and storage armor are the highlight of the figure from a functional perspective and the way the face was painted and sculpted makes Bane come alive and look like he is seething with anger and vengeance. The shading and detail applied to the figure give it a 3D feel to round out this Marvel Legends scale figure.
Combining the Takara DMK-01 Optimus Prime model kit with a Takara Dark Of The Moon Jetwing Optimus Prime is Encline Design's Supreme Jetwing Optimus Prime Custom Transformers Dark of the Moon figure. Portraying Optimus in the final battle scene of the Dark of the Moon movie, this figure is massive! Standing 11" tall and with a wingspan of 15", this figure is chockablock with articulation. Although this is a non transforming figure, you would not want to touch this figure! The base is an added bonus and I like the addition of the red and blue colors that artistically tie the figure to display base.
The figure looks outstanding and I have been following Encline Designs for years now and he consistantly creates amazing figures worthy of anyone's Trasnformers collection so head over to eBay and check out this killer Supreme Jetwing Optimus Prime Custom Transformers Dark of the Moon figure.
Combining efforts to create this amazing looking Custom Transformers G1 Black Zarik figure are Thyvipera and Thielmj. Constructing this menacing looking figure was Thielmj while Thyvipera finished it off with a flawless paint job. The figure takes on a Gladiator like persona with the way the head was designed, giving it a Roman feel while the the left claw looks like it is holding a shield as to defend against any enemy. The open sculpting of the mouth gives the figure much needed personality.
The color selection really highlights the features of this Custom Transformers G1 Black Zarik figure really nicely. The black blacks and the bold golds play very well off of the cranberry reds and the weathering that was done on the figure. In addition to the articulation that was added to make Zarik more poseable, the midsection was also extended along with the staff to round out a fantastic looking figure!
From Custom Transformers to Marvel Legends figures, Shinobitron is one of those customizers that excels in what ever he puts his hands on and his Custom Marvel Legends Black Panther X-Men figure is no exception. Putting his own militaristic twist on this figure, the cat like figure possesses many feline characteristics. I really love the head of the figure as it was well done and I really like the way the snout was crafted. If you take a closer look at the hands, they are very lifelike and have the ability hold daggers between the fingers. In addition to getting this amazing figure, Shinobitron created a pleathora of accessories like extra unmasked head with cowl, his tribal necklace, an ornamental spear, and 3 vibranium daggers which attach to his belt via pegs. The unmasked head is pretty cool but you will have to make the jump over to view Shinobitron's Custom Marvel Legends Black Panther X-Men figure to see it!
There is no doubt that Optimus Prime is one of the most iconic characters of the 1980's and Scotscream has taken this figure to the dark side with his Custom Transformers Nemesis Prime Movie figure. The color scheme of this figure is very different from the other Nemesis Prime's I have seen but it works for this figure. The "hand painted nitro stlye flames and chrome parts" give this figure a unique look and the color scheme is carried through the figure in robot mode with purple accents that make each individual part stand out. The head, done in grays and blacks gives Nemesis a mean look, especially with his red beady eyes! In truck mode, you can see the flame paint job carry through the entire figure. I love the way the Nemesis Prime's red eyes match the red windshield, completing the look of this evil figure!
You have to admit that it takes a lot of imagination to recreate the Star Wars universe as the toy line lacks play sets to recreate your favorite Star Wars moments and scenes but this is where appspot comes in and he has created on of the greatest scenes from the Star Wars movies with his Custom Emperor's Throne Room Diorama from the Return of the Jedi movie. I have been a fan of appspot's dioramas ever since I came across his Custom Tantive Attack Diorama back on February of 2008. The diorama scales nicely with the figures as the dio is roomy enough to house Royal Guards, The Emperor, Luke, and Darth Vader. A wider shot reveals the scale of the diorama (see below). Measuring over 2 feet deep, this Throne Room is constructed of foam and wood and based on appspot's other Dioramas, it is of the utmost quality and craftsmanship. I can still remember the first time I got a glimpse of the Throne Room in the movie theater in 1986 watching Return of the Jedi and now you can relive this great scene by owning appspot's Custom Emperor's Throne Room Diorama and making it your own!
Usually there is little room for improvement with the Generation 1 Transformers line but Thyvipera has figured out a way to go above and beyond with his Custom G1 Transformers Overlord figure. Standing 17" tall and featuring tons of articulation, this figure can be posed and played with in several different ways. As the Overlord figure came later in the Transformers line, Thyvipera accurately reproduced the turquoise and purple colors that plagued the figures in the later years of the line. The way the figure was painted makes each part stand out on its own and the colors are much bolder than the original figure. Complete with a new tank barrel and a new jet lasers in the alternate modes, this figure pays a great homage to original figure.
Bischoff Inc. brings this awesome Mortal Kombat character to life with his Custom MK 9 Noob Saibot figure in Marvel Legends scale. This character holds the unique distinction of appearing, in one form or another, as a fighter in all of the first seven main fighting games and now you can add him to your collection thanks to unique styling and creativity of Bischoff. This figure looks nearly identical to the one that appears in the video game and the way that the arms and legs were sculpted it looks like the figure is wearing clothing. The creasing of the thighs and the upper arms gives this appearance. If you hop over to view more photos you will find a most disturbing image of Noob admiring his work after he has finished someone off so head over to eBay and check out Bischoff's Custom MK 9 Noob Saibot figure.
Before I start in on this amazing custom, my apologies for not updating the site in a while as I was recovering from a recent knee surgery. Even though I took a break, it looks like the Dark of the Moon customs are still abundant and doing very well! JCartwork's Custom Transformers DOTM Sentinal Prime is the exact reason why I started writing about customs. As many of you know, I was not happy with the off the shelf release of this figure due to the paint coloring being off but it looks like JCArtwork has really paid attention to detail on this fact and did an amazing job not only mixing a movie accurate paint job and applying it but the way the plastic shines like metal is worth noting. Overall, it looks like this achievement was a group effort as JCartwork also gives mention to Speedlees Customs helping out with the paint app. Overall, what a great piece of work from JCartwork and this Custom Transformers DOTM Sentinal Prime is sure to grab a pretty penny on eBay!
