Taking concept art from comics and translating this into a well executed figure takes some imagination and skill, which Toyphilia has done with his latest Custom Marvel Legends Rock of the Buddha figure. The rocky substance on the body was very well done as well as the overall look of the figure. According to Comicvine, they describe this character as "A member of the Black Dragon Death Squad, Rock of the Buddha was the martial arts team's analog to The Thing. He had half his body comprised of a rocky substance as well as spikes jutting from his spinal column." Toyphilia's shading of the figure gives it depth and makes each detail stand out, accentuating the veins, muscles, and flab (The Rock of the Buddha could stand to go on a diet). There is less than a day left to place a bid on this amazing figure so head over to eBay and check out this Custom Marvel Legends Rock of the Buddha figure.
Doing a straight up repaint of a Deluxe Rodimus figure, Solrac333 tries something new with his Custom Transformers Classics Hot Rod figure. Instead of sticking with the traditional flames on the figure, he wanted to do something different so he made a sunburst effect on the hood of the car. In my opinion, the choice of the colors makes the figure look more masculine and tough as the choice of a darker shade of red, red/orange, and blacks works really well on this figure. It was an interesting choice of color to go with an orange for the upper thighs but I think it blends well with the figure, giving it less of a robotic tone and more of an organic feel. The lack of flames also give the car a more subdued look, which is a nice change from the other Hot Rod figures I have seen.
I always learn something new from customizers and Hunter Knight Customs let's us in that this little known factoid that the "Shadow Weaver is one of the most sought after characters in the She-ra line, due to the fact that Mattel does not own the rights to make her in toy form since she is a Filmation character," which would make his Custom She Ra MOTU Classics Shadow Weaver figure that more special. HKC is one of the few customizers that do He-Man and She-Ra figures and his latest figure is superb! Adding extra embellishments to her costume, the figure retains the classic nature of the 80's cartoon while giving the figure a more modern, sleeker look. Here are some of the details that went into this figure:
"She has been sculpted with exquisite attention to detail, adding some new elements to her costume as well as acrylic faceted jewels, that have been carefully placed on her chest plate. She preserves all of the essence of the classic character, but in a much more updated form! Her cape is made of soft goods and features a unique staff made only for this figure, representing the dark powers that fuel Weaver's spells!"
For fans of He-Man, we were elated to continue the series with She-Ra, since some of the characters of Eternia make and appearance in Etheria from time to time. For those who are not familiar with her, "Shadow Weaver is a vastly-powerful Horde witch, who commands an array of dark magic, and an encyclopedic knowledge of mystical lore. When Hordak arrived on Etheria, he promised Shadow Weaver great power in exchange for information about rebel leadership, to which she agreed (source: Wikipedia)."
Taking a Classics Optimus Prim and taking it to the dark side, Dark Cave Customs created this Custom Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus Transformers figure. Dark Cave has literally taken the Shattered Glass concept and applied it to Ultra Magnus. If you look at the overall figure, it looks shattered and beaten down, giving the figure a unique look and adds to the darkness of the theme of the figure. I love the windshield effects and the overall concept of this figure and it looks pretty darn bad ass holding a very large sword.
Creating the Mighty Thor in the the last outfit the worn "before he destroyed the Asgard and the Cycle of Ragnarok," Wylun Customs brings us this flawlessly executed Custom Marvel Legends Rune Thor figure. From the scalloped armor, deep royal blue and gold paint apps, and the broken hammer, this figure looks like it was ripped from the pages of the comics. I really like when customizers share the ingredients of what went into their creations and Wylun Customs was nice enough to shoot me an email with the run down so here it is (I especially like the last one!):
- Head ML Adam Warlock
- Upper Torso DC deathstrike
- Lower Torso DC Booster Gold
- Couple kibble from random stuff..
The paint apps look especially smooth and rich as they shine from the figure. A great choice in parts combined with the skill of bringing it all together makes Wylun's Custom Marvel Legends Rune Thor figure something you would wan to add to your collection!
If Zildjian's Custom Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Shockwave figure is a sign of what is to come from the new movie, let the salivating begin! The arithmetic is simple...take a killer line of figures and add it to the hundreds of talented customizers out there and you have a recipe for great things to come. Speaking of which, Zildjian let's us inside his head on what enhancements he has made to Shockwave:
"In order to make Shockwave better resemble his Generation One character I switched him arms so that his blaster is on his left arm, not his right. This was no easy feat as it required disassembly, removal of pins, and shaving down of certain areas to allow the proper clearance of parts. Shockwave was given all the necessary preparatory work to produce durable, tough finishes. He was sprayed with multiple light coats of plastic adhesion promoter, and then sprayed with a custom mixture of Kustom Kolor plastic adhering paints."
The metal effects and the G1 color scheme really bring out the details in the figure. Most of the plastic on the original figure is pretty muted but Zildjian has brought out the best in this figure. Given that is a pre-release of the TF3 Shockwave, I can't wait for the line to be fully released so customizers like Zildjian can get their hands on them! Head over to eBay to bid on Zildjian's Custom Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Shockwave figure today!
Featuring a cartoon accurate head cast from the talented Frenzy.Rumble, ThyVipera brings us this Masterpiece Action Masters Custom Soundwave figure. Standing 9.5 inches tall, this G1 Soundwave does not transform into the obsolete tape deck from the 1980's but I find when you have a killer robot mode to display, why in the world would you want to transform it? The legs and arms feature a weathered steel look and a in addition to the killer G1 paint app, the cassette door opens and closes so Laserbeak can rest when he is not performing his spying tasks. The photos over at ThyVipera's auction for his Masterpiece Action Masters Custom Soundwave figure are also courtesy of Frenzy.Rumble, which is very cool to see collaborative efforts between the customizers!
Unique concepts are what customizers stand out above and beyond your average toy company. Claw Carved Customs is a great example of blending a one of kind idea with excellent execution with his Custom Marvel Legends Deadpool Mech figure. Combing the worlds if Iron Man and Deadpool, the mech suit fits a smaller scale Deadpool figure inside the suit, just like Tony Stark! Claw Carved Customs provided much detail about this thought process for this figure so let's read more about the concept behind the creation:
"With all of the heroes out there in robot suits, deadpool thought it would be a good idea to join the crowd! Made from parts of the iron monger and stolen prototype parts from starks suits deadpool was able to build his very own mecha! Ok now lets be realistic This figure took WEEKS of constant work and troubleshooting but as you can see it was all worth it! I hollowed out and "iron monger opening cockpit figure" and gave him a huge drastic makeover with all the nice weathering battle wear and weapons you could ever want with a figure! There is a removable helmet, articulated claws and yes the "dead missile" can be shot out of his weapon. I even gave the marvel universe deadpool a more classic look and repainted his belt with a leather color, gave him his classic leather straps, leather katana holders, a custom pilot vest and the best part is that you can detach his katana holder oh and the katana's have been sharpened!"
You can see how the Deadpool figure scales with the mech suit in the photo below:
Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire! Like the protoform Transformers hurling to earth and burning up on reentry, Frenzy.Rumble has created some killer flame effects for his latest Custom Transformers Masterpiece Sunstorm figure. Imagining how Sunstorm would rocket through the sky, literally on fire, as the metal is pealing and melting off the of robot brings the concept to reality and achieves a look that I have not seen attempted before. It takes a true artist and gobs of talent to pull off the burning, singeing, and fire effects to a plastic figure. Here is a close up of the work applied to Sunstorm's tail wings:
Frenzy Rumble's figure is up for sale this week on eBay so head over there and check out his Custom Transformers Masterpiece Sunstorm figure as he has some really cool photoshop effects on some of the pictures where actual flames are shooting out of Sunstorm's hands. I know Frenzy Rumble is great but if he figured out how to make actual fire shoot out of one of his customs, he will be elevated to a God like level in my book!
Continuing his classic era figures comes Jin Saotome's latest Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Dr. Doom figure. The way the armor was crafted and painted in bronze, gold, brass, and copper effects makes the figure look more like royalty, especially when it is holding a goblet in his hand. If you think about it, this is the perfect figure to do in Steampunk style due to the fact that his suit is made entirely of armor, which gives a lot of latitude in how this figure could be conceived and executed. My favorite part of this figure is the leg armor as I can picture Dr. Doom clunking around as the gears turn and the knee joints bend. The weathering of the figure makes it look like it is from the era. To view more photos of Jin's Custom Marvel Legends Steampunk Dr. Doom figure, head over to eBay!
Shooting for cartoon accuracy on a massive scale, Forgotten Forest brings us this 15" Custom G1 Masterpiece Cartoon Devastator combiner! In the Transformers cartoon from the 80's, the television version, like most of the Transformers at the time, differed from their toy counterparts in very big ways, but that did not seem to worry us as kids. Now that most of us are adults, we are looking to customizers like Forgotten Forest to close the gap in accuracy and realism with their skill and talent. The cartoon version of Devastator was a very blocky looking figure, which went with the animation style back in the 80's and this figure does an excellent job at portraying that aspect in the design. One of my favorite aspects of this figure are the three different head sculpts that were made for the figure:
As you can see, the three different head sculpts, which were scratch built, give Devastator the much needed personality that appeared in the cartoon. Not only does this add to the poseability of the figure, it brings the figure to life. Another aspect that I love is the scale of the figure, which you can see once you make the jump over to eBay to see this Custom G1 Masterpiece Cartoon Devastator combiner as a photo was taken with a G1 Bruticus figure.
When I think of wrestling customs, I think of Skribbel24 and his ability to create very accurate representations of the icons we grew up (or are growing up) with. With his latest Custom Hulk Hogan as he appeared at the 1989 Minnesota State Fair, this is his first ever head sculpt that he made from scratch. He did an excellent job sculpting the likeness of the Hulkster and he even gave the figure some personality with the expression that was sculpted on the face. I had the great opportunity to see Hulk Hogan in action at Wrestlemania 7 and I remember seeing that stare that Skribbel24 has created on his face as be battled Sgt. Slaughter! Not only did he create a figure, he also replicated the "I survived an atomic leg drop from Hulk Hogan" t-shirt. If you want to place a bid on Skribbel24's Custom Hulk Hogan as he appeared at the 1989 Minnesota State Fair, head over to eBay!
Using the Hunt for the Decepticons Bumblebee as the base for Arte Loko Kustoms' G1 Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Prowl crossover figure, the best of the classic and modern styles are brought together. Adding body armor and a totally redesigned head sculpt, his end vision was to make this figure look nothing like the Bumblebee it was made from. I love hearing the stories behind how customizers create their works of art so let's read about the what was going on in Arte Loko's mind when he created this great figure:
I created this piece using a hftd bumblebee, I wanted this figure to look nothing like bumblebee when i was finished. So i decided to create some armor plates for his legs and shoulders inorder to bulk him up a bit. I was going to use an existing prowl head, but decided to sculpt one instead (entire head was sculpted). I also changed up his forearms to resemble the g1 prowl we all know.......his paint job was done in a (hoc) black pearl with some battle damage. His body was also highly detailed and weathered for that grimey look..I made him a texas state highway patrol. I used decals on the doors and front fenders.as far as the wheel go, I was going to use some big flashy euro style rims but was redirected when I remembered that I had some dayton spokes with whitewalls..after all thats how we do it in Texas!
And do it indeed! I love the fact that Arte Loko brought in his home state of Texas into the design. To view more photos and to place a bid on Arte Loko Kustoms' G1 Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Prowl crossover figure, head over to eBay
The MOTU Classics line is ever so slowly introducing She-Ra characters to the ever growing number of figures but Hunter Knight Customs seems to be out pacing them with his latest Custom MOTU Classics Huntara She-Ra figure. HKC has an uncanny ability to translate television concept art from the 80's into a great looking figure that you will proud to display in your collection. He nailed the coloring, the hair, costume, and even the tattoo on the side of her head. This figure also comes with a customized base and if you look closely you can see She-Ra's golden wing tiara, making it look like Huntara has had her way with her. The figure scales perfectly with the MOTU Classics line (seen below) so head over to eBay and check out more photos of HKC's Custom MOTU Classics Huntara She-Ra figure.
Tapping into the evil bizzaro world of the alternate universe of the Transformers where good guys are evil, Xaviercal takes on this Custom Masterpiece Shattered Glass Transformers Rodimus Prime figure. This version of Rodimus works well as a Shattered Glass figure as the trailer doubles as a gun turret so Rodimus can do his evil deeds. Just like in the original Rodimus figure, the shattered glass designs are consistent between the hood of the car and trailer. I like the fact that the pipes on the trailer are muted in a matted silver finish rather than a chrome as it goes better with the overall look of the figure. The figure looks equally as great in robot mode with Rodimus sporting his signature evil goatee! You can view more photos of Xaviercal's Masterpiece Shattered Glass Transformers Rodimus Prime figure over on eBay!
DBO Customs has created this amazing Custom Marvel Legends Weapon X with Adamantium Tank. Taking the Marvel Legends scale figure to the next level by designing display tank puts this custom on another level. The figure features real metal claws and the tank was made using thick, durable glass, real metal and both Aves and Sculpy. The tank scales very nicely with the figure and the way the hair was designed, it works both in and out of the tank. When the figure is placed in the tank, the hair looks like it is flowing in liquid and out of the tank the figure takes on a crazed look. The face is full of emotion and rage, which gets hidden when the mask is put on the figure when it is in the tank. This figure is a perfect example of how taking concept art from a comic can turn into a living, breathing figure that is nicely executed. Take a look at more photos of DBO's Custom Marvel Legends Weapon X with Adamantium Tank over at eBay!
Some people see a bunch of Transformers and think that nothing ever could be made from a pile of parts except for customizers like Shinobitron. Combining parts from various Transformers, he has scratch built his first ever team of Custom G1 Transformers Insecticons. Shinobitron did an excellent job retaining the G1 look and feel to Kickback, Shrapnel, and Bombshell. I really like the head sculpts that he did for each figure and it is cool that he made fully transformable figures, which he is really great at doing. I have been writing about Shinobitron's customs for over 3 years now and his creativity keeps exceeding my expectations. He has more photos of each individual figure over at his auction page so head over to eBay and check out his Custom G1 Transformers Insecticons.
Anthony's Customs threw everything (and the kitchen sink) into his Custom Marvel Legends Gambit figure. As far as the figure is concerned, my favorite parts are the way the trench and the hair are sculpted. The hair looks very realistic as well as the trench coat with its flowing look of clothing. He also did not miss a beat when thinking about this figure and the different poses and styles you could display this figure. In addition to creating a very accurate Gambit figure, he included 7 interchangeable hands, a short real steel staff, a long real steel staff, 2 sets of two cards, 2 single cards, a charged card accessory, and a large base. I really like that Anthony has the foresight to create the much needed accessories to truly go above and beyond the call of the duty. One of my favorite accessories for this figure are the 'charged energy cards' (shown below).
To view more photos and to place a bid on Anthony's Custom Marvel Legends Gambit figure, head over to eBay!
"Hulk Smash!" or "Hulk fix your toilet?" Jin Saotome never ceases to amaze me with his creativity and this week his Custom Steampunk Incredible Hulk figure caught my eye for several reasons. For one thing, I thought how could you turn a Hulk figure into a Steampunk era figure when typically the Hulk just uses his shear strength and power to overcome his foes? First of all, the Hulk was given a very cool pair of clockwork gauntlets that protect his precious hands in battle. The grime and gritty feel of the figure makes it look like Hulk could moonlight in a coal mine if he is not saving the world! There are less than 12 hours left to grab Jin's Custom Steampunk Incredible Hulk figure so head over to eBay and place your bid!
With a percentage of the sale going to the Battersea Dogs and Cats Charity, Unavermin brings us his Custom G1 Transformers Masterpiece Shockwave figure that scales really nicely with your MP collection. Chockablock full of modifications, this MP Shockwave has a new custom made head, pulsing LED eye, click rotation feet, blinking LED laser hand, laser blasting sound, and hip missile detail. To check out the scale of the figure, Unavermin posed the figure with an MP Starscream (not the most flattering pose for Starscream but he is used to begging on his knees for mercy):
Unavermin also made a short video demonstrating the blinking LED light in his head and blasting so check it out after you make the jump to view his Custom G1 Transformers Masterpiece Shockwave figure.
Hunter Knight Customs (HKC), along with making killer Masters of the Universe customs, focuses his skills and talents on this gorgeous Custom Marvel Legends Mortal Kombat Kitana figure. Taking the best aspects from her appearances in Mortal Kombat3, Shaolin Monks, and Mortal Kombat vs. DC, HKC has done a tremendous job translating video game art into a lifelike plastic sculpture. What struck me about this custom was that when I viewed it for the first time, I could not tell if this was a person in costume or an action figure.
I really thought my mind was playing tricks on me as the face of the figure looks very human. The eyes of the figure look full of life and the hair is molded in a way that looks flowing. Although half the face is hidden by the mask, the duvets in between the eyes gives the appearance that the figure is looking into the distance, perhaps plotting her next move against her opponent. HKC also makes pretty cool videos so check out his Custom Marvel Legends Mortal Kombat Kitana figure and view his video after you make the jump!
Sometimes when you are creating a figure and accuracy is your goal, you have to make some sacrifices and FrogDNA has made the ultimate sacrifice with his Custom Transformers Dark of the Moon Leader Class Starscream. To make this figure as accurate as he could, the ability for the figure to transform does not exist anymore but what he did in its place totally makes up for this. Let's read all about how he modded this figure:
"I tried to replicate every single detail from the CGI model, which differs greatly from the actual figure. I added tons of parts on his chest, arms and legs, for that messy and sharpy decepticon look. The original canopy section was removed, since it's not there in the movie version, leaving only the canopy itself, for a more accurate look. The whole chest section was redone using mostly new parts to get the right look (much bulkier than the original figure). The middle section (the one that goes right beneath his neck) was resculpted to be permanently open, with a few tiny mechanical parts here and there. A few parts were added on his neck as well. Speaking of which, the his head now can be tilted side to side. I added several wires on his arms, instead of just paiting the sculpted ones, for a much more reallistic look. I also added articulated fingers, and a ball joint on his right hand. Each finger has a tiny spike added, just like the CGI model has."
The fine details are what makes this custom great. It is the attention to detail paid to the chest of the figure and the additions of the spikes at the ends of the fingers that gives this Starscream a very unique look that is different from any other custom Leader Class figure. The wires added to the arms gives the figure some depth and the newly sculpted face gives Starscream his power hungry look. FrogDNA has taken many more photos over at his auction page so head over to eBay and check out his Custom Transformers Dark of the Moon Leader Class Starscream figure.
With their first figure in 2011, Boskoes Toys is coming out swinging with their Custom Marvel Legends Stryfe figure. The team over at Boskoes Toys are excellent at translating comic and art into plastic and this figure is an excellent example of how talented their designers and sculptors can be. The paint app style and shaping techniques makes the plastic on the figure look like metal. The addition of blue accents on the figure on the thighs and chest really break up the silver tone of the figure and give it a unique look. The mask is more streamlined than the comic art but that is a welcome addition as it takes a lot of the weight out of the face. Round the figure out with the protruding spikes on the thighs and shoulders and you have one heck of a Custom Marvel Legends Stryfe figure!
Finally giving King Randor a Queen to have by his side, Hunter Knight Customs has created this beautiful Custom Masters of the Universe Classics Queen Marlena figure. Taking concepts from the MOTU 200x and vintage lines, HKC's figure combines the best of both worlds of He Man into one fantastic figure. The gown is simply exquisite and it is molded to look long and flowing with some very realistic fabric like behavior as it hits the ground.
The face is painted with a majestic look and the crown looks exactly like it did in the cartoon. The face looks like a much younger Marlena, like in the 200x series where it started the characters at a much in a earlier part of Eternia history. Now that I have the song, Three Marlena's by the Wallflowers stuck in my head, rush over to eBay to view more photo's of HKC's Custom Masters of the Universe Classics Queen Marlena figure!
In the latest installment of the Clone Wars Animated series, a new Darth Maul'like character was introduced. Of the same lineage as Darth Maul, the new character was dubbed Savage Opress. He was implanted as a sleeper agent with the intention of killing Tyranus, a vehicle for Ventress' desire for vengeance after she had failed Count Dooku for the last time. Opress was donated to Tyranus as a new apprentice, under the guise of being a complimentary gift from Mother Talzin, the leader of the Nightsisters. JackOfTradze brings this new character to life with his Custom Star Wars Savage Opress figure. It is very cool to see another being like Darth Maul and this figure adapts the Clone Wars version and turns it into a classic Star Wars figure. With the signature long horns that adorn the head of of Opress, JackofTradze did a great job capturing the look and feel of the animated character.
Wreck-Gar is one of those classic, memorable, characters from the G1 cartoon and, most recently, the Transformers Animated series. The Transformers Generations line has exceeded my expectations and it is mostly because customizers like Frenzy.Rumble adding their talent to really bring out the best in the line and his Custom Transformers Generations Wreck-Gar is a perfect example. He has made this figure come alive with his masterful paintwork and detailing. For example, the original figure had a lot of gray in the waist, shoulders, and legs and what a difference a unifying color scheme makes to the overall look and feel of this figure. Spikes were also added to the figure to give it a unique look that only a Transformer named Wreck Gar could pull off.
The figure looks amazing in motorcycle mode, making Wreck-Gar hell on wheels! To view more photos of Frenzy.Rumble's Custom Transformers Generations Wreck-Gar, head over to eBay!
Who can ever get enough clone variations? Given that the Star Wars movies from the late 70's and 80's introduced us to the Stormtrooper, Biker Scouts, Snowtroopers, and Royal Guards, it was a breath of fresh air to see so many clone variations with the newer Star Wars movies and the animated series. Friendliang is adding to your clone army ranks with this Custom Lego Star Wars Commander Jet minifig. Decked out in the orange, red, and yellow deco from the animated series, this Commander Jet minifig also comes with a cloth kama and pauldron. Commander Jet's helmet is different from the rest of the clones, with a pentagonal shape attached to each side, giving him that distinctive look.

Designed to resemble the G1 cartoon figure from the 80's, Xaviercal has created this very cool Action Masters Custom Transformers G1 Devastator figure. This figure stands a gargantuan 17" inches tall, which is almost a foot and a half of Devastator goodness. Capturing the G1 coloring and styling of the cartoon figure, Xaviercal has made this figure in Action Masters style, meaning that the individual Contructicons do not transform and separate from the figure.
A couple of features I really like about Xaviercal's Devastator is the streamlined chest armor, which gives the figure a more unique and slim look to it. A great design choice was to make the bulk of the armor in the center of the chest piece, which achieved a more subdued, but overall effective, look to the armor piece. I always thought that the original G1 Devastator's armor piece was a bit too large for the figure. The second feature that I like is the blaster that Devastator is toting around so you know that this Decepticon means business! To view more photos of Xaviercal's Action Masters Custom Transformers G1 Devastator figure, you will find them on eBay!
Bringing the hammer down, Mercury Art Studios brings this highly detailed Thunderstrike Thor Custom Marvel Legends figure. Not only does this figure look like the art from the comic books, the face has some definite attitude.
I really love how the face was sculpted to give Thunderstrike a very menacing and nasty look to him. This look is achieved by giving the face some divots between the eyebrows and drawing one the eyes off kilter. Furrowing the cheek bones and creating a stiff upper lip completes the look of the face. To view more photos, head over to eBay to view Mercury Art Studios' Thunderstrike Thor Custom Marvel Legends figure.
Wow! What a difference a paint app makes and Lek's Custom Transformers Generations Kup figure is a prime demonstration. A lot of times, with factory paint jobs, the plastic colors look very muted and dull, and I think that is the case with the Generations Kup figure. Lek totally transformed a mediocre figure into something grand, which is a testament to his painting skills. Just take a look at a side by side comparison in vehicle mode with the original Transformers Generations figure (left) and Lek's amazing paint job (right):
Great choice of colors and decision to paint the accents and bumpers black was a great one as it really makes the figure pop! Even subtle aspects like painting the rims of the figure add a tremendous amount of style and value. To view more photos of this amazing paint app, check out Lek's Custom Transformers Generations Kup figure.
The Medieval times, or Middle Ages, was a period of European history from the 5th century to the 15th century, roughly between the years 400 and 1500. Continuing with his period pieces, Pack Rat Studios created a stellar Custom Star Wars Medieval Boba Fett figure, which rounds out his line of classic era figures. When I was a kid, I remember visiting a tourist attraction in San Fransisco called the Medieval Torture Chamber, which was one of this wax museums close to Pier 39. They had a whole bunch of crazy devices in there from nail racks to other various and sundry devices to inflict pain. This Medieval Boba Fett figure reminds me of that visit to the torture chamber how the armor is done with the spikes protruding from the boots, shoulders, and helmet.
Looking at the way the armor was made, it keeps with the styling of the period where knights roamed the land and justice was used to ward off the threat from the Barbarians. Mixing the classic Boba Fett Star Wars armor and the armor from the period really meshes well together and once again, Pack Rat Studios has done a superb job with this Custom Star Wars Medieval Boba Fett figure.
Imagining a time where blasters and lightsabers were weapons of the future, PackRatStudios has created a very cool concept using one of the most classic Star Wars figures with his Custom Steampunk Boba Fett figure. Using a weathered copper look and feel, rivets and the power of steam to power his jet pack and weapons, the figure design keeps with the Steampunk era. My favorite parts of this custom are the weapons and backpack.
The rifle is a cool concept as you can imagine the bullet getting pushed out by a burst of steam, as well as the jet pack as Boba Fett rockets off to his next Bounty Hunting adventure. To view more photos and to place a bid on PackRatStudios' Custom Steampunk Boba Fett figure, head over to eBay.
This week, Pack Rat Studios has created some period pieces that are truly outstanding his latest World War 2 Custom Boba Fett figure is no exception. For those who don't know, I am a World War 2 history fiend so I was so excited to see one the classic Star Wars characters in 1940's garb. I love the direction Pack Rat Studios took with this figure as he successfully combined two very different worlds into one figure that melds the two back into one. For example, the uniform looks like it was pulled straight from the pages of history with the flared collared jacket with the two chevrons on the shoulder. I like that the only piece of armor Fett is wearing is on his head, like a real soldier of the 40's.
Giving Boba a Rocketeer look, the jet pack looks like it was assembled using the era style bombs and missiles. His helmet is removable and if you want to see what is underneath that metal head, check out more photos of Pack Rat Studios' World War 2 Custom Boba Fett figure.
Deviating from the classic G1 paint scheme, Speedlees ventures into the realm of the 'what if' with his Custom War for Cybertron Corrupted Optimus Prime figure. Imagine if Nemesis Prime got a hold of Optimus, but not fully, and was able to turn him into a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type character where one half of of the figure is Optimus and the other half his Nemesis Prime. Portrayed by one half of the figure taking on a red/blue color scheme and the other half taking on a green/purple scheme, Speedlees has achieved what nobody ever imagined...a corrupted Optimus Prime. Who knows what is in store for the Autobots...only time will tell!
Described as the spy turned super-powered soldier, foe to Captain America and The Invaders, Wanderer-X brings us this Custom Marvel Legends Warrior Woman figure. What I like about this figure is the attention to detail on the face. The way the eyes and eye brows were drawn makes the figure come alive with a mysterious and sinister look on her face. The face also has a persona of someone that means business! The outfit also looks like it was pulled right from the comic from the choker around her neck right down to the thigh high boots. To check out more photos of Wanderer-X's Custom Marvel Legends Warrior Woman figure, head on over to eBay!
